Checklists don't have to be lists. They work best embedded in procedures, like how airlines verify you have the right pass before check-in. The format matters less than the habit of confirming each step.

Checklists are an amazing way to make sure things always get done right. This is actually a form of a checklist. When I checked in for my flight on American, they highlighted all the critical elements. Make sure this pass was the right pass for me. You don't have to have a checklist in the traditional format. With checks, you can simply have a procedure that is basically a check off checklist.
