Holistic healing treats your whole body system, not just isolated symptoms. It's different from quick-fix medicine that masks pain with a pill, or natural remedies that aren't necessarily whole-body focused. For a headache, it means a nap or sauna to reduce overall stress, not just painkiller.

Holistic is the idea that we're working with the whole body system, not just one. And when I use the word holistic, it really has that word whole in it, and so that's how you can remember. It's about giving the whole body what it needs and allowing it to do its process, being patient with it, as opposed to traditional medicine or even natural medicine. So there's a confusion between natural and holistic. Just because something's natural doesn't make it holistic. So if you're going after your symptoms, what I call the hunt and kill method, say I've got this symptom, I've got a headache, I'm going to take a pill for it. That's allopathic. That's the hunt and kill method. If you're trying to get rid of a headache through means of holistic, well, now you're treating the whole body by de-stressing it. Maybe you're taking a nap. Maybe you're going into a sauna. Maybe you're doing something that, like a sensory deprivation tank. Those things can all help, but it's holistic. Meaning it covers the whole body at once and not just one part of it, where you're trying to track down or cover up a symptom.
