Have you ever had a situation where you've gone into the grocery store and you thought, hey, I just have a couple of items I want to pick up. And you go in there based on memory and the next thing you know, you get to the, to the checkout counter and you have all these extra things in your shopping cart. Well, the same thing can happen when you go shopping for, for digital marketing for your local business. Now, what do I mean by that? Well, there are so many things going on right now in the digital marketing space, especially with artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence, every day we get more and more ideas of it will do this, it'll do this, it'll do this, and it's very distracting. While there are some great tools out there, we want to say, hey, if you're going to go shopping for groceries, go with a list. You're much more likely to walk out with those items versus walk out with a lot of items that you weren't intending to get if you didn't have a shopping list and make sure you did get the things you want. Well, the same thing when you go to decide, hey, I want to do some local marketing for my business, what is your intent? And there are many different things. Do I want to grow my list? Do I want to put out a lead magnet for a, for growing my list or offering something special? Do I want to write content? Am I going to make a video? Am I going to run digital marketing ads on Facebook or Google? Look at the what you want as far as your intent and make sure that everything that comes in is a signal and not noise, meaning it's not one of those things where it's a bright shiny object that you get distracted by and that you spend a lot of time figuring out, hey, how do I use this thing? When you might have lost hours or sometimes days or weeks figuring out, hey, how do I use ChatGPT to create the right ads when you already kind of had it in your head and you can write the ad yourself? So now I want to point out, it doesn't mean you can't use these tools. It's just then when you have the intent to do one of these things we're talking about for your local business, go in there and get it done, then set aside some time and say, hey, I'm going to set aside an hour a week. And what I'm going to do in that hour is I'm going to do some discovery. I'm going to reach out and find out, hey, are the new, are there new AI Tools for X, Y and Z. This is what I have had to do because as a digital marketing agency, we've been doing this for over 12 years now. There is so much stuff coming into my inbox about all the new things going on that I have to not only filter it out, but decide, hey, I'm only going to look at this stuff in a specific time. It's just like if you were, if you were scheduling a meeting with somebody, you would set the time aside to have a meeting for those people. You would take your phone and set it aside. You turn off other distractions and you do what you would have that meeting. I would say if I'm going to look at, let's say, artificial intelligence to help me write better, let's say Facebook posts or titles for Facebook posts, I'm going to play with that. And I say play because it is one of those things where you're going to do some testing. I'm going to set aside some time to do just that without this pressure of I have to get this up and running on Facebook in an hour. Whenever we're rushed, we tend to either compromise or make mistakes. So set aside some time and do that. Today's message was very, very specific. When you get to the counter, the checkout counter, and you look in your basket, it has exactly what you need because that was on your shopping list. So the next time you're distracted by something, even if me, even if I give you a call and I share with you an idea, does it fit into your needs and wants? I'll give you one perfect example, and then I'm going to take off. One of our customers has a Google business profile and he services an entire area. In this case, he services the Irvine area and he wants bigger reach. Now, typically with Google business profile, they have a very limited reach. So it's always one of those things, hey, I'm looking for a plumber near me. And it will pull up only those plumbers that are truly near you or in that city. But if he services multiple cities, in this case he services all of Orange county, it's really harder for him to show up. So we had to say, hey, our efforts using either we, we hire a new staff, we do additional training, we get new, new software, whatever it may be, it's only to achieve his extended reach. So if he's in Irvine and someone is in, let's say, what's another city around there? Newport beach, then we want to make sure if someone's in Newport beach and says, hey, I need a plumber near me that we move them up there. Will this effort, will this software, will this training, will it do that? If not, I'm stepping aside. It's not going in my shopping cart. And by that I mean metaphorically. It's not going on my list of things to do today. So that's really what I wanted to share with you today. If you have questions about things like this, please put them in the comments. I'll be more than happy to pop in and answer them. Or you can simply send me an email at jeffingpoint Media. Anything about hey, what tools should I use to do X, Y and Z? Are there AI tools that now can help accelerate what we do? Last Little point, every week I have a meeting with my staff and I ask them, hey, based on what we've done in the past six or eight months of automating and putting new tools in, what has that done to the work capacity? And harmoniously, they all said we could probably double our efforts now because of the speed of automation and artificial intelligence. So keep that in mind when you're going shopping. Are you putting the right things in your basket? Have a great week. Bye. Bye.
