Hi, I'm Jan, the gadget gal here at Kitchen Kitchen with this week's gadget of the week. This week, my favorite gadget is the mandolin by Progressive. I love it for a lot of reasons. It has a slice and a julienne switch, as well as three thicknesses and a lock position so it pulls the blade down so you won't find it the hard way in your drawer, if you know what I mean. Let me show you on this carrot. When I'm doing a slice on the number three position, in just seconds, I have carrots that are perfectly uniform, nice to throw in your salads or your soups. Then when you flip the switch to julienne, you now have julienne slices of carrot. Also on the number three switch, you can also do cucumbers. Look at how great it does cucumbers. I'll do it on the thinner switch, back and forth in just a few seconds. You now have cucumbers that are paper thin. You can't do that with a knife. I'm sure of it. So that's Kitchen Kitchen for the gadget of the week. Come on in and see us.
