Jeff Harrison explains how Snow Summit in Big Bear turned a winter-only chairlift into year-round income by running it for mountain biking, hiking, and sightseeing in the off-season. The lift carries bikes to the summit and opens up scenic views that keep the mountain generating revenue when snow isn't falling.

Hey, it's Jeff Harrison with Seasonal Slump Busters. And I'm here at a really neat opportunity to show you just how one location has turned a seasonal business that would have a tremendous downside into an upside. We're at Snow Summit here in Big bear, just about 6,500 to 9,000ft. And it's turned in their off season. Now what they do is they have a chairlift running, takes us to the top of the mountain. We can take our bikes up there, do some serious mountain biking and we can go walking, hiking, or if we don't want to do that at all, we can just stay on the chairlift and do a sightseeing, which is a spectacular view behind me of the lake. So next time you're thinking, geez, you know what, I just have a one season business. I want you to think about this. How can you take this chair lift that runs only three or four months out of the year and turn into a 12 month business? Thanks for joining me. I'm Jeff Harrison with Seasonal Slump Busters.
