A short YouTube monologue by Jeff For Local Marketing explaining how edge AI (on-device models in phones and cars) makes AI faster, more private, and cheaper to operate. The speaker argues technological progress reduces production costs — illustrated by a 55" TV price drop example — enabling powerful AI to run locally on consumer devices.

The other thing is what's called edge AI, and this is devices like phones and cars increasingly ran AI locally, in other words, on the device through cheaper and more private operations. And so what this means is, you see, every time a new model comes out, it's not like, it's not like buying a car. And every time a new model comes out, it's been new and improved. And what happens to the price? It's also new and improved. Well, the cool thing about the technology that we're going through right now, and I don't know how long it'll last, but when it comes out, it's gotten faster. And it means it can produce more information for less cost. So it drives the cost down. And an example of this might be, let's say 15 years ago when you, when you went out to buy a television, it was a 55 inch TV and it was five grand. Now you go to Costco, and I'm not promoting Costco, I'm just using example. You go to Costco and get that same 55 inch TV for $289 or $389. In other words, it's a fraction of the cost because the technology to build it has increased and decreased the cost. So the technology has increased, but the cost to produce has gone down. And that's what we're seeing with this technology. So it used to cost, you know, millions and billions of dollars to train, now can be on our phones and all of a sudden, you know, is you can open up this device right now and have a conversation with the smartest entity on the planet and get questions answered for you. It doesn't matter what it is. So that's another one. So the other thing is, so that's, that's kind of looking back on 20, 25. In other words, a lot of stuff happened.
