A short YouTube video (Jeff For Local Marketing) advising service businesses—illustrated with carpet-cleaning examples—to use simple, authentic user-generated content. Recommends low-production phone-shot before/after videos to show value, manage customer expectations, and include a clear call-to-action (contact info on screen).

The goal today was to understand a couple things. One is manage your expectations. You have to put content out there, and the type of content we're talking about doesn't have to be high production value anymore. It can be as easy as pulling out your phone. In fact, it's really good. It's called user generated content. It's one of those things where you can open up your phone and if you're in the service industry, it doesn't matter. Let's say you're a carpet cleaner. Well, you walk into someone's home and say, hey, I've just arrived at a client's home and here's a picture you're seeing of the carpet. We're about ready to clean and you can see there's some walkways that are very dirty. And as we move the couch, we're noticing, wow, there's quite a difference in the color. Our goal today is to get it back to that color. Stay tuned for the second portion of this and then you post that. And then when you're done, guess what you do. Hey, I'm back and I'm going to show you the difference of, after we did this, what this carpet looks like now when you pull the couch back. The same color carpet exists on both underneath the couch and in the walkways. That's the value of what we do. If you're interested in making sure your walkway is clean and people aren't concerned about your carpets being dirty, call me. My information's on the screen. Whatever it is, that's how you can do this. People like this. It's very authentic. If you notice, I don't have any fancy backgrounds. I'm just basically in my office and we're just shooting this video. I'm having a conversation with you, hopefully giving you some value.
