How To Defy Aging Naturally without Needles or Knives
20 Aug 2024 · 42 min
Trina Felber, founder of Primal Life Organics, explains five root causes of aging: declining blood flow, reduced facial muscle activity, chronic inflammation, collagen loss, and toxin exposure. She argues Botox masks symptoms while worsening inflammation, and recommends face yoga, gua-sha, and water-free skincare with oils like bakuchi and marula instead.

Real quick, before we dive into this episode, I have a little sleep secret I want to tell you about. Look, sleep is crucial for your fitness, but it's crucial for just plain old everyday life and function. And I find I sleep great unless I have a migraine. And I've had more than my fair share since perimenopause all the way through postmenopause. My secret weapon was Blue Sky CBD sleep gels. Each gel contains 25mg of CBD and 25mg CBN for deep restorative sleep. Something about it helps to reduce inflammation, which I believe for me was key in helping me get to sleep. But the biggest thing is so many of the over-the-counter solutions, whether for sleep or migraines, can ruin gut health, and liver health. Neither one of those did I want to be problematic for me. So this option is recommended by healthcare providers worldwide and backed by thousands of happy customers, many of whom come from our Flipping 50 community. There is zero THC, so it's non-habit-forming. It's made by a trusted family-owned company that we all can feel good about. Third-party tested for purity and potency. And if you're interested, you too can try a sample for just $6. But even better, you can get 30% off forever with discount code FLIPPING50. That's FLIPPING50. Just go to flipping50.com/blueskycbd. We'll put that link in the show notes and you'll find it everywhere on Flipping 50 at My Favorites.
What are you waiting for?
Good night.
What if you want to defy aging naturally and not with Botox or fillers? This is a 100%, by the way, no judgment zone. But I am guessing that even if you have opted for Botox or filler, you think twice about it every time. You think about, is there somewhere more fun that I could be spending that $500? Or you think about the toxic effect that it might have, or the superficial fake and dead giveaway that a frozen face actually is. Am I right? This is your episode if you love health, you love wellness, and you want to look and feel your most beautiful. I'm not talking about glamorous Kim Kardashian over the top. I'm talking clean, face confidence, and the mascara and lipstick are optional, but that you and I get the opportunity to love the way our skin looks and feels, naked or not. Are you with me? Stay tuned. My guest today is Trina Felber. She's a clean beauty expert, and she empowers women to achieve radiant youthful and glowing skin without resorting to Botox, fillers, or surgery. And as the founder of Primal Life Organics, Trina formulates natural dental and skincare products that promote health and vitality. Trina's Bold Beauty course teaches women how to defy age without needles or knives. Her mission is to educate and empower women to take control of their health through natural solutions and embrace their natural beauty with confidence and knowledge. Additionally, she's a bestselling author of Beauty's Dirty Secret, and Trina is a leading voice in the clean beauty movement, helping individuals achieve wellness from the inside out. In this episode that I cannot wait to unpack, we, I think, barely skim the surface and please let me know. You'd love to have Trina back, and we'll get her back here as quickly as possible. But I think we unpack some things not only for us, not only in looking at skin clarity and quality and wrinkles and what beauty is to us now at this moment that we're in, but also how we pass along knowledge that we gain about skincare and beauty products, about toxins and our toxic exposure to our young daughters, our daughters-in-law, that next generation that had we known what we now know, or you will at the end of this podcast, how could our lives and our skin and our overall health be different? They can't know, and they may not know the questions to ask yet unless we share it. So I hope you'll listen to this episode and agree, as I do, that we're in a moment of time that we can not only empower ourselves and our own future, but start far earlier those that we love and influence. Let's dive into this episode. I'm Debra Atkinson. You're listening to Flipping 50. I started this podcast over a decade ago to answer questions about fitness in menopause and beyond before you knew to ask them. The goal: to help accelerate your results with science and the practical application of proven protocols while living your best life. There's no more powerful health influencer in the world than a midlife woman. And it's not just about you, but the 3 generations that you influence. My unique 40-year career, including being a university senior lecturer in kinesiology, an industry subject matter expert, and an international speaker, to founder of the first and the only exclusively made for menopause and beyond fitness membership in the world. Every week I interview experts behind the scenes and the science of optimal hormone balancing, fitness, and longevity, and share answers to our community's questions so you can have the vitality and the energy that you want, need, and deserve. Trina Felber, thank you so much for coming back. Actually, you're not a newbie here.
No, I had so much fun the last time I had to come back and visit you. Okay.
And to anybody who's listening for the first time or wasn't here when Trina was here with us previously, we really have to unpack this. So number one, why is beauty so important to you? And is this what you saw yourself doing when you were growing up? And if not, what was that?
What? No. Yeah, this was not what I expected myself to be doing. Even if you asked me 15 years ago, or probably 17 years ago, I'd have to say I still would have said no, this is not what I was doing or thinking I was going to do. Beauty is so important because it's— it really identifies your face, your skin, identifies who you are. It's your logo. Your skin is your tagline. If you don't feel good about the way you look, you just don't feel good about yourself. That's just, you know, confidence right there. When I was young, I wanted to be a nurse. I knew in second grade that I wanted to be a nurse. I actually wrote in my little book that I want to be a neonatal nurse. And I did. I actually went on. I did become a nurse. I never did neonatal or, you know, anything with babies other than anesthesia. But I did do nursing for almost 25 years. And the last probably 8 years was in anesthesia. I was a nurse anesthetist. So I guess I fulfilled that dream. And then, you know, that my world kind of shattered when I got pregnant, when I was turning— I was around 39, turning 40, and I miscarried. And then that's when my eyes opened to the beauty industry and how toxic it is.
Oh, okay. Say a little more on that. What was the connection?
Yeah, no. So I miscarried and it was my husband and I went to Fiji to get married. It was right after I graduated from anesthesia school. It was in 2007 and I got pregnant on the honeymoon, came home, miscarried at week 7. We had been healthy. We, you know, at that time, at that point, we thought we were healthy. You know, we ditched the gluten and the sugar. And things like that. But we hadn't really converted fully to paleo because paleo hadn't come out yet. And so we— I felt like we were healthy. But we started to look at everything in our environment because I knew that if there was anything I could do to help my body be healthier, especially being 39 and wanting to get pregnant, I knew I, I needed to control those things that were in my control. So I was looking at the environment, and we changed our laundry detergent, we changed our cleaning supplies, all those types of things. We bought air purifiers. But it wasn't until I was week 7 in a new pregnancy with my daughter that I started to look at my skincare products. And I glanced at the ingredients when I was at week 7, and I noticed that there were chemicals and toxins in there. And I knew that they crossed the placenta, or some of them did. And I knew that they cause hormone disruption and neurological issues. And cancer. And so I just immediately ditched everything and started making my own products. And my products that I was making started really working for my skin. I had always had acne. I'd always had oily skin. I'd gone on Accutane twice. I had done over-the-counters and prescription. Nothing cleared up my acne until I started making my own products. And then lo and behold, I just launched a company. I decided if I can sell this, I might as well sell it if people want it. And then the paleo world came about. We were paleo at that point, and I realized that this really is paleo skincare. So I formulated Primal Life Organics, which at that point we called it paleo skincare because that's all we use. We use like food-based ingredients, and that's what cleared up my skin.
Wow. Okay, so wait a minute. To everybody who's not watching us on YouTube, they can't see what I see. So I know you have— I've seen pictures of you online. I know that you have twin boys, and I think they're younger than the girl.
Yes, correct.
Yeah, I see. I, I'm a stalker. Yes, but you look like you are still 40. So that can't be the case. So tell me where you are right now.
I'll be 56. And let's see. Oh my God. When we're recording this. 56. I'll be 56. Yeah. I turned 40 when I had my daughter and that was— she's just turning 16 this year. So I'll be 56.
Yeah.
Very cool. My skin actually looks better. Yeah. My skin looks better today. I don't do fillers. I don't do Botox. I don't do anything like that. I've done it all natural. And so that's what I want to teach women how to do, that you can do this without having to go through the pain and the problems associated with injections and needles and knives and all those things.
And the finance.
Yes.
Okay.
And the money.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Love that.
Okay.
And, and please, so you're, you're hopefully you're looking at an image that you've seen shared on Facebook book. So look at that and say, okay, this is 56, or what it can be without anything. So this is really an important distinction, and I think I want to ask you about this. So there's clean skin, we just talked beauty, you kind of defined the importance of it at 56. You know, I look at you and say, what about wrinkles? And excuse me, bitch, but you don't have any.
All right, there are other things you can do. Oh, I love you, you're so sweet. I love you.
Sweet and bitch in the same sentence, I'm not sure go together, but there you go.
No, it does. It does. It makes me happy. There are things that you can actually do. Actually, I just received a shipment today of ingredients because I'm making skin— I've always made my own skincare and I haven't made new skincare in like 16 years because I was so busy with my other company. But there's so many new oils out there and these plant-based ingredients out there that I'm like, going crazy, 'cause I'm like, oh my gosh, these are so good. I just got in my shipment in today, and there's a plant that, it's actually, it's called the toothache plant, because it numbs the tooth, it numbs the nerves. And so people are using it, they call it Botox, it's also being called Botox, the Botox plant. But it's not paralyzing the muscle, it's actually just like numbing it, or relaxing the muscle. So you can still move your face, which is really important. That's the key, is the muscle movement, which will stimulate blood flow, stimulate collagen and elastin. That's one of the problems, the long-term side effects of Botox, is that you lose the, the muscle's ability to stimulate blood flow, collagen, and elastin. But with this plant, it's super cool because it does the same thing,. And so I'm gonna be making some infusions and oil with this plant-based ingredient. And I'm gonna— one of the things that I'm gonna— I have is a community where women can join the community. And in the community, I actually teach you, it's called Bold Beauty Cooking Course. I teach you how to make your own products and you batch make as much as you want. So you can make a batch that would last you 2 years. So you're not doing this all the time. If you don't want to. And it's premium. Like, this is what I did. It's so much fun. I geek out over it. It's really fun.
And what, what a great way to start a business, right? So, and you've done so many things for so long, but this is kind of, okay, taking off in a new direction, which I also love. I mean, it's the meta meta of this episode— a 56-year-old woman reinventing, starting again, starting fresh. And like so excited to get out of bed in the morning to do what she does. That's, I think, what any of us would wish for. But I want to go back to something you said. I do not want to step over the very act of doing Botox and/or fillers. I'm guessing actually harms what we really want to happen. So we're making it worse. Am I getting that right?
Oh yes, 100%. This is what the doctors won't tell you. By the way, I'm a nurse. My background is nursing, and I'm sure you said that in the bio. But so my whole goal is for you to look younger and stay out of the hospital. Like, I want to keep my fellow nursing friends away from you. I want you to be able to enjoy life. Part of the problem with Botox and fillers, and this is just at a surface level, is that any time you put something in the body that doesn't belong there, especially when it's a live bacteria, the body is going to create and try to get rid of it. So it's creating inflammation, chronic low-grade inflammation in the body whenever it's in there. And so over time, your body will break down the Botox and get rid of it. But you have this low-grade chronic inflammation that can cause problems elsewhere in the body as well as in the face or the facial tissues. There are 5 root causes of aging. And once you define the root causes of aging, you'll understand that Botox and fillers and even surgery don't fix them. They act— they're a Band-Aid. They're a Band-Aid solution like other things that we do. And they don't fix the root causes of aging. And the root causes of aging are a decrease in blood flow as you— as you get older because you're not using your face as much. We're not as animated. I mean, think about kids. I think about my kids all the time. And you're right, my daughter's 16. I have identical twin boys that are 14. And so when I think of them and I look at them, they're always using their face, especially teenagers. Like, they're always animated. They're ex— when they're excited, you know they're excited. When we get our first job, and whether that's 18 or you go to college, the next thing you're doing is you're just sitting there and you're staring at a computer all day, you're not really talking to people, not really interacting. I always teach people, make sure you use your face, like keep using your— you like be very animated, talk with your face, because those are the muscles that matter. The less muscle mass that you have in your face, the more sagginess you get in the face and the less blood flow. As that continues, it decreases collagen and decreases elastin. So what Botox is actually doing is it's paralyzing the muscle. So you've— you're not moving the muscle. When you're not moving the muscle at all, the muscle becomes atrophied or smaller. You know that, of all things, of all people. I don't have to tell you or your people that. If you stop working out, what happens? You lose. And then what happens to the skin over those muscles? So I always think of someone that got sick really quick. Someone that worked out, was very active, came down with cancer of some sort, ended up on chemo, and then all of a sudden their muscle mass has really depleted. And you can see it in their skin. Their skin becomes very thin, saggy, and it's sagging partly because they've lost that muscle mass. And so that's the same thing that happens with Botox. It paralyzes the muscle. It can't move. It's like you've just You're not going to work that muscle out anymore. It's going to lose muscle mass. That's going to reduce the blood flow as well. And then reducing collagen and elastin just goes along with it.
Okay, so let me ask you this. Two things. So one, it seems like, and maybe I'm just getting this coming up in my thread over and over again because of what I do and what I search for, but like face yoga, more people seem to be talking about this. And so is it that they've stumbled on what you are talking about right here, we, we need to get it active again.
100%. Yeah, I actually just did a bunch of videos today of face yoga, different types of things that you can do. And it's not hard. It's actually really easy. But yes, face yoga works. There's people out there that say don't do face yoga, because it causes more wrinkles to your face. Yeah. And I'm like, no, it does the opposite. I mean, think about it. When you build muscle, the tissue itself has to stretch over that further. Like, think about pregnancy. What happens during pregnancy? The muscle of the skin stretches. It's supposed to stretch. It's the really the muscle buildup, and then the muscle stimulates blood flow, which will also stimulate collagen and elastin. And that's like the, the— that's like the secret sauce for keeping your skin looking amazing. Face yoga works. Doing gua sha— and I don't know if you've seen those— they're like, you can use just about anything, but like a face scraping tool to scrape your face. So you can do it. And I do teach that as well. All of this stuff is in my course. This is what I'm teaching. This is what I want women to know. It doesn't take a long time to do this. I spend about 3 minutes a day doing something, whether it's face yoga, it's microcurrent, the gua sha, even just massaging with your hands. There's techniques that you can do And it's, it's consistency over time. Like everything else, if you do something for 20 minutes once a week, you're not going to see results. If you see, if you do it 3 minutes a day, every single day, you're going to see results. And then it's also switching your beauty products.
Oh, I want to ask you this question. Somebody the other day, literally, it's how the universe works, of course, but it was a guy, like one of the BroScience guys was saying, I don't know what it is, but it's, you know, whenever I look at people who these people lived weights on a regular basis, there is something about— they look younger. It is like fountain of youth, but he's talking about their face. Now, there is carryover. I mean, I know that from, you know, a woman will ask me, I want bicep tone, and do you have a good bicep exercise? And I'm like, yes, but really, the, the best exercise for better biceps is not a bicep exercise. You need to be focused on everything, major muscle groups. Let's get circulation all over. They're probably in there, we just can't see those pretty muscles. So is there a little to be said for if you're strength training on a regular basis, it's not just, you know, your legs and your arms, but it's carrying over to everything. Are you seeing that as well?
Yeah. Yes, you're right, because the muscle group is a family. And so that's part of the problem with Botox injections as well, because you're disrupting the muscle group as a family. There will be some carryover. In fact, your heart is a muscle.. And there has been links of cardiac arrhythmias and in different issues, heart attacks that they, of course, don't directly link to Botox, but have been linked as possible side effects of Botox because you're like you were saying, your muscle, it's a family group and it's all interconnected. And of course, when you're lifting out, you believe it or not, next time, look in the mirror at your face. Don't look at the body part you're working out. Your face is probably actually doing some muscle work whenever you're lifting heavy weights or even moderate weight because you're being— you're active, you're being active, you're moving. So just by working out, yes, you will be doing some face yoga. Next time you'll be in there, watch, you're going to be doing your face. I'm going to see you in your videos. You're going to be really making these expressions.
You know, I have always been told by— but now that I think about it, it's probably a nurse or an esthetician who wants to give me Botox— that I am a really expressive face and I, you know, probably purse my lips. And it's like, don't do that because you're going to wrinkle. And now it's like, no, no, no, that's actually a good thing.
It's an asset, right? Okay. Yeah, yeah. No, your skin looks great. You look amazing. Yeah. And it just— it goes to show you that there are ways that you can do this without resorting to the Botox and fillers and things like that that are more— they're not natural, they're artificial. And I always say, if you want to— if you want— if you're going to use artificial, you're going to look artificial. Same thing goes for skincare. When you use artificial, it becomes artificial in your body and your body can't maintain that. Over time, artificial ingredients in skincare causes cell death because there's no nourishment to it. The cells can't flourish and revive and, and multiply healthily. So you have to get back to the basics of skincare as well. Instead of using dead skincare, you have to use living skincare, which would be oils, especially organic oils. And essential oils, those would still be living, living ingredients. And whether you decide you want to make your own and dabble in it, which is super easy and a lot of fun, or you want to buy it, those are the two things that I always discuss in my, you know, memberships and in my courses of how to look for the, the clean, the truly clean products that aren't going to damage your skin and destroy your skin. Because of what you're putting on it. And one of the worst ingredients to watch out for, believe it or not— I don't know if you know this ingredient, if you've heard me talk about this, but the main culprit— people always ask me, what's the worst ingredient? I do know. I know, I know, I know. Okay, what is it?
What is it? Water. Yes.
Yeah.
All right.
Got it. Water. And, you know, it's—
I would never have known that were it not for you. Hey, this is Debra Atkinson, and there is one thing you can't do in the gym at your age, and that's get all the protein that you need. You've got to do that in the kitchen. To make it easy for myself, not only to get the protein but the fiber, the fruits and vegetables I want daily, I started drinking a smoothie a day 30 years ago. But when I realized all the junk, the sugar, and the extras that you don't want, that I don't want, hiding in most protein powders, that's when I finally caved in after years of saying I will never ever ever sell supplements. Stop skipping, skimping, and sabotaging yourself in the morning after workouts by always being prepared. Look, yep, I agree, real food first, but it's just not convenient to carry a turkey sandwich. Sometimes the protein— and don't forget the fiber— they kill cravings and they boost satiety. And you've got to make it easy to do the right thing. You can use code PODCAST for 10% off your first order at Flipping50.com today.
I know, I know. And now it's coming out. There's a lot of people talking about, but you have to be careful. Like, this is the other reason that I had to do this course. Now there's companies calling themselves waterless. And what does waterless mean to you? Like, this is my biggest— like, I can't— I want to pull my hair out. What does waterless mean? Because I have arguments online, like social media arguments with women who are trying to tell me that waterless means less water, not water-free. And waterless to me means— and when you look it up, it means deprived of water. But there are skincare companies calling themselves waterless when what they really mean is they're using less water in their formulas. But as a consumer, you don't know that unless you know what to look for. And that's what I teach. You will still buy the products and not realize there's water in there. And for anyone that doesn't understand it, water causes dehydration to the skin. It doesn't absorb into the skin and hydrate the cells like you— like, like you would if you drank the water. Like, internal hydration is one thing. External, putting it on your skin, is going to pull the moisture out of your skin. Long-term, when you're using water-based skincare, long-term, your skin becomes thinner and thinner and more and more dehydrated. And of course, I always like to compare a prune to a plum. So we always want our skin to look like a plum. It's very round, very juicy. You cut it open, full of water, and the outside is very smooth, as opposed to a prune, which is basically the same product, the same fruit, but with no water. And, you know, then on the, the prune, you see the wrinkles, you see the discolorations, you see everything so much more vivid. And if you could just inject that prune with water or moisture or fluid, it would plump back up and smooth back out. And it's very easy to do that with the skin because oils absorb through. Now, the active ingredient in water-based skincare is always the oil. But when you read the ingredient list, once you know how to read it, water makes up between 70 and 90% of the formula. So you're left with product ingredients that if there's water in there, you have to have emulsifiers to blend the oil and water. You have to have fillers in there to make it thicker. You have to have heavy-duty preservatives. And then they often put enhancement absorbers because water, of course, doesn't cross through the skin. They want to get the ingredients into your skin, so they have to put these enhancement absorbers. But unfortunately, it pulls in everything, the good and the bad. The problem with water in skincare, besides the fact that it makes you look older, is that most companies are using tap water or distilled, and either way, it's loaded with drug waste, including birth control pills, antidepressants. And yeah, you know, I'm looking at your face. Anything that people are on, like so many people are on antidepressants, and there's birth control pills, thyroid medications, you will absorb those through your skin. You will absorb that. And heavy metals is found in water too. So your body will absorb those. If you omit water from your formulas, from whatever you're using, you will omit everything else because a true oil formula doesn't need anything else in it. While oil itself is a preservative, so you don't need preservatives, you don't need anything else. And again, I'm finding so many plants that mimic what they're trying to do synthetically. And anytime you put something synthetic in the body, it's not— it doesn't have the nutrients, even if it's plant-based. I found this as well. So many companies are like, oh, we're all plant-based, and you read it and they look like chemicals. They really look like chemicals. You look them up and they're like, okay, it's from a plant, it's from the plant, it's from the plant. The problem is when you take a piece of the plant and you pull it and extract it, you've highly processed it to get it there. And now in order to get it back into something, it has to be mixed. It's usually mixed with water, but you've, you've taken out all of the other pieces that make that plant whole. So when you look at plants outside, they have to— they're in the elements. They've had to figure out how to survive. From pollution, from radiation, from bacteria, virus, everything, drought, water, the toxins in water, everything. And so when you just extract a certain piece of the plant, you're not getting the benefits of all the nutrients as well. So that's why I don't like all the synthetic and processed stuff. It's not really what your body needs. It's— or your skin. It's devoid of all the real good stuff.
Wow. That is mind-blowing and makes so much sense when you break it down and take the difficult and make it simple as you have. I would love to go back if you are game for this. There are so many women here who, and maybe I have a heightened awareness of this because someone said the words to me, are you ready to be a grandma? And I was like, Can we talk about that word? I don't know about that word, but yes, you know, I've never had a daughter and now I do. I have a daughter-in-law and, you know, I'm thinking, what do I need to be telling her? This is my responsibility. I need to be telling her I'm influencing or have the option to do it. And I know she's going to want to know. I know she's going to wish she did potentially. So You know, tell me this, when does the skin actually begin aging?
In your 20s, believe it or not. So in your 20s, yeah, you start to lose collagen and elastin. So this is when it all declines, because primarily that's when we've stopped becoming animated. We're stop— we're not using our facial features or our facial muscles as much. So you stop, your collagen and elastin normally decline in your 20s. You don't truly notice it until you're in your 30s and 40s. That's when you really notice it. But it doesn't have to be that way. I, you know, I've got a couple oils that stimulate collagen. Bakuchi oil stimulates collagen and elastin production. And marula oil inhibits the enzyme that breaks them down. So, you know, I love when I make things, I always put a little bakuchi and a little marula in there because The collagen that I make is going to be sticking around longer. Oil itself is a synthesis. It's going to help your body synthesize more collagen and elastin. When you talk about women of childbearing ages, I just posted a video today about pregnancy. And I mean, this is when my life changed. This is when I discovered the toxins. This is when a lot of women stop and go, oh, I'm not just responsible for my life. I'm responsible for somebody else's. But I just did a— the EWG did a study about cord blood and they discovered, and my numbers might be a little off because I'm not looking at the numbers in front of me, but around 287 toxins were discovered in the cord blood of babies. And the only reason it was only 287 is because they only did a very small toxin sample. Like they didn't do this big pool. Otherwise, they would have found more. But of those, I think it was like 180 of them are known to cause cancer. They— a lot of the— most of them are known to cause neurotoxicity and disrupt the body in many ways. And the fact that our babies aren't being born pure is really— I mean, you have to look at what's going on with our children today. And all of the other issues that our kids are having. Yeah. So that's one of the other things I really want to educate women about, especially women of childbearing age, is that you have the ability to use other things. And people think that they have to be real fancy, and, and they feel like if they get a bottle that has 100 ingredients in it, it's got to be good. And I'm telling you, as someone who has formulated skincare, I mean, I've been doing this for 17 years, and I formulated skincare for two different companies. As a company, you want the consumer to feel like they can't make this themselves. You've got to put value on the bottle. And so the more ingredients that you list, the more someone goes, oh, wow, this has to be really, really good. But sometimes the simplest ingredients are all you need. You don't need 25 ingredients. You— I actually start my clients out with an olive oil challenge. That's what I started when I found the toxins in my skincare. I literally ditched everything, and the only thing I could think about putting on my skin was olive oil because I knew those women in Italy used it and they were gorgeous. It's got squalene in it. It's very good. It's very good for your skin. So I started using olive oil. So I have anyone that goes through my course, if they want to, I have them do a 7-day olive oil challenge. And that's all you use. You use it for cleansing and you use it for moisturizing. And I get hesitation from so many women. Yeah. Like, no, I can't do that.
But not me.
I break out. Yeah. Right. Everything. Everything. Everything. I hear it all. And anyone that does it, every single person that does it always goes, wow, I never I could not even imagine my skin looking this good in just 7 days. So it doesn't have to be complicated. It can be super easy. And then once you are familiar with what oil does on your skin, then if you want to start blending things and start mixing in, and if you've got dry skin, you got oily skin in the summer. I actually had a friend in town from Arizona and she was here visiting me. We went to anesthesia school together and she lives in Arizona now. She actually lives in Scottsdale. And she was telling me about the sun and how the sun is. And I know, because I've been in Scottsdale long enough, that the sun is really, you know, harsh on your skin. And you can't, even when you're driving, you can't get away from it. And so I was like, here, I'm going to make you something. So I took her to my little kitchen and I have all these ingredients and I whipped out red raspberry seed oil, marula oil, bakuchi oil. I can't remember what else I put in it. Not much. I put like 4 or 5 things in it. And I made her this little serum. Red raspberry seed oil has a natural SPF of between 30 and 50. And if you put that on your skin— yes, if you put that on your skin in the morning and it's blended with a couple of things, but you put that on in the morning when you're out in the sun, just in and out, you've got great sun protection. Plus it's loaded with antioxidants. So you're going to be neutralizing any free radical damage from the sun right there at your skin. Skin level before it actually gets into your skin. So red raspberry seed oil is something that I— if you live in Arizona and you wanted to make your own, I would suggest every single thing that you put on your skin has red raspberry seed oil in it. You can change the concentration depending on, you know, what season it is. But out in Arizona, I would put red raspberry seed in on my skin almost every day, if not almost every day.
That is amazing. That is amazing. Okay, you have so much, so much, and I want to dig in with you again. And my guess is that all my listeners are going to say, let's go deeper, can she come back? And I'm guessing you would say yes. Of course I would. Okay, okay. So for now, I would love to know, how can listeners learn more, find out about your courses, how they can learn to mix their own oils and concoctions? And again, for everybody listening, if you are like me at this moment in time, I am really— it's not just about me. I mean, no kidding, I'm so vain, I don't want wrinkles, right? But I also don't mind having them show up. I mean, there is something more interesting about a woman who's got a few and has a little wisdom to— she's earned it. But it's also about how do we help this younger generation that is ours and help them avoid the mistakes that we didn't know any better. Before they know to ask. And that's, I think, the biggest thing. We now know, and we're getting information like this on, had we known this when we were 30, you know, things might look different for us right now. And they can for them, but only if we pass the torch. So where can everybody get a hold of you, Trina?
Well, you can always find me on TrinaFelber.com. But if you're interested in the course or Um, as of the taping right now, it's not available, but I know when you release this, my community should be available. And you know, when you do the course, you get 3 months free in the membership as well. So you get to taste it out and see what it's like in there before you fully commit. But yeah, it's so much fun. And I'm telling you, I'm with you, aging gracefully. There's something to be said about that. And I know for myself, like you, I don't want to look like I'm my age. I want to, I want to look younger. I don't want the wrinkles. It's not that I want to look young. I don't know that I ever want— I want to look 30. But I do want to look like I'm healthy. And I think that's the key, is making sure that you look healthy. And unfortunately, the products on the market and what we are being sold as what looks healthy is really artificial. And the artificial will only last for so long. The beauty of it only lasts for so long, if you even call it beauty. I don't— for some, you know, some artificial goes way too far. But the long-term effects of that is not going to enhance your beauty. It's only going to be more detrimental to your health and your beauty. So I'm with you. I don't mind aging. I just want to do it. And of course, I'm a hacker. And so I'm going to try and hack it as long as I can. Because why not? You know, I used to have the 11s on my forehead, and I've done really good with getting rid of it.
I have a W.
