How to Find Flow: Do This Every Day in Menopause
30 Sept 2025 · 40 min
In this episode of the Flipping 50 podcast, host Debra Atkinson interviews transformational leader and spiritual guide Christy Whitman about accessing and sustaining "flow" during midlife and menopause. The conversation begins with Christy’s unconventional career path—from pharmaceutical sales to author and energy‑mastery coach—highlighting how a series of meditative visions led her to write her first book and launch a coaching practice. Christy explains that the "energy" she talks about is not merely physical stamina but a quantum, 96 % energetic component of the human being that underlies the physical, mental, emotional, and energy bodies. She describes how fight‑flight‑freeze responses and three mental states—lack, neutrality, and abundance—keep people stuck, and offers a simple framework of three reflective questions (What do I want? Why do I want it? How do I want to feel?) to shift into flow. Practical habits are shared: scheduling workouts months in advance, moving the body daily (Pilates, hiking, dog walks), and using the "queen’s chair" metaphor to claim personal authority. A major tool is word awareness; Christy’s free program watchyourwords.com teaches listeners to replace lack‑based language with abundance‑based phrasing, which she argues rewires thoughts, beliefs, and actions. The episode promotes her new book, The Flow Factor, and provides URLs for the book, the word‑watching program, and the Flipping 50 community. Listeners receive a homework assignment to monitor their language and begin implementing the three‑question check‑in, with an invitation to join the Flipping 50 Insiders group for ongoing support.

If you were in the middle of something feeling stuck and you can't get your energy back, whether physically or it's your mojo, that something, that spark, this is for you. Warning, this episode comes with homework. I'm Debra Atkinson and you're listening to Flipping 50. I started this podcast over a decade ago to answer questions about fitness and menopause and beyond before you know to ask them. The goal: to help accelerate your results with the science and the practical application of proven protocols while living your best life. There's no more powerful health influencer in the world than a midlife woman. It's not just you, but it's the 3 generations that you influence. My unique 40-year career, including being a university senior lecturer in kinesiology, an industry subject matter expert and international speaker, to founder of the first and the only exclusively made-for-menopause-and-beyond fitness membership in the world. Every week I interview experts behind the science of optimal hormone-balancing fitness and longevity and share answers to our community's questions so you can have the vitality and the energy you want, need, and deserve. If nothing changes, nothing changes. If you feel stuck, something will definitely have to shift. So we have choice when that happens. We can wait for life to happen to us, or we can choose and create it. My guest today is Christy Whitman. She's a transformational leader, spiritual guide who helps individuals transform their lives through quantum energy Mastery. So yes, today gets a little woo-woo, but I promise you we're not meditating. We are talking about quantum success and the flow factor, whether you have it or you don't. So just when you thought you lost that monthly flow, this is about entirely how to get into another one. I think you're going to love it, and yes, we do give homework at the end. Christy Whitman, thank you so much for being my guest today.
I'm thrilled, Debra. Thank you for having me. I'm excited for our conversation.
Well, I'm excited too, and I can't wait to get into the topic. But before we do that, we're an audience, you know, who likes the dirt. So I want to know a little bit about why, why this? How did you become, number one, a transformational leader? Because I'm guessing at career day in elementary, this wasn't one of the options. So how did this, how did this transpire?
Well, you know what's funny? I was a pharmaceutical rep back in the '90s and I was in corporate America. I ended up selling liquor and wine and then wine and then Pepsi-Cola.
You pusher.
I am a pusher. My aunt who was hysterical and she was 94, she's like, "Let me get this straight. You went from alcohol to drugs, right?" So, yeah, I was selling pharmaceuticals and I felt like every time I would go out to do my job, I felt totally disjointed and out of alignment. Because for me, if I get a headache, I use peppermint oil on my head instead of even popping Tylenol. So, trying to mask things. And I know that the pharmaceutical industry and doctors and all that, they're needed and it's part of our society. But for me, if there's something that's natural to get rid of, and a lot of times, most times, things are energetic, their mental, emotional that creates the physical ailment. So, for me, I would always do that. And so, I felt like this isn't alignment with who I am. And every time, no matter how much I motivated myself to get it on up, I would just get into those doctor's offices and the energy and the patients and just all that, I felt drained. So, knowing what I knew, I had been student of universal laws and manifesting for over 30 years now. And I wanted to apply this to my career because if I was gonna be doing something that I was making money and spending a lot of my time doing, I wanted to have passion and purpose for it. So I started to cultivate what I do now, working with energy mastery and bringing in the feeling and the frequency of both passion and purpose. And I was doing that consistently. And bringing that to what I was doing, you know, as a pharmaceutical rep. And one night I was meditating, as I do every night before I go to bed, and I got this vision of this book and it had my name on it, Christy Whitman. It said Perfect Pictures. And I thought, huh, okay, that's interesting. I've never written a book before, right? So I go to bed that night and 1:05 in the morning I am woken by literally as if someone was standing and talking to me And I'm trying to shut it off. It wasn't shutting off. And so, I decided to stop resisting it and lean into it. And I was amazed because it wasn't my own thoughts. It was wisdom that was coming outside of myself guiding me. So, I got up out of bed and I started to just put pen to paper. And then, all of a sudden, my hand started free writing. And it was like one hand was turning the page while the other one was consistently just writing. So, pages and pages and pages. I go to bed because now it's like 2:30 in the morning and forgot about it. The next day I look at it and I read it and I thought, "This did not come from me. This came from I don't know where, but it's not mine. But, thank you because it's helping me." So, for 7 nights in a row at 1:05 in the morning, I was woken up and did the same exact process. So, I had just seen an author, the only author I knew, I had seen her at a a little workshop. Her name was Terri Cole-Whittaker. For those of you that are, you know, from the '70s, she was a big minister in New Thought and that sort of thing. And I emailed her and I said, "Terri, I think I'm writing a book. How do you get it published?" And she said— now, this is the '90s, right? The internet wasn't like it was now. So, I went online and I looked up literary agent and there was a picture of this guy's face and it said literary agent/publisher. So I reached out to him. He said, "Send me what you got." And I did. And he's like, "Okay, I'll publish your book." Okay. I didn't know the whole process. So I got the book published. My friends and family bought it. None of them were in resonance with it. They all thought I'd lost my mind because I'm talking about energy and law of attraction and everything that they weren't into. So I started speaking in spiritual bookstores and churches. And when I was speaking, they would ask, all the people in there would say, would you coach me? Are you a coach? And again, frame of reference, I'm like, like a football coach or a cheerleading coach? Like, what do you mean a coach? No, like a life coach. Like, people get paid for that? So I just was having people call me, you know, no, call me on the phone, I'll walk you through whatever you're going through. And I love the process of it. Talk about having passion and purpose for something. I just loved helping someone to shift their mindset, shift their emotions. And when they did, they would come back to me like a day later, "Oh my God, I just got promoted. Oh my God, I just got a raise. Oh my gosh, I met him." And their success felt so good to me that it was like it wasn't just the time on the call with them, it was what they were creating and helping them become more empowered by learning about the 7 Essential Laws. So, that's how it started. And I just kept following through and was getting people to find me and refer people to me. And at nights and weekends, I was coaching people until it was time to go full-time into my coaching business, which was 18 years ago.
Amazing. Okay. So many things that you said that I first want to unpack before we even go deeper. But before we do, I am so distracted. For you who are listening, who are on a walk and just listening to audio, I'm sorry, I apologize in advance. I'll try and paint the best possible picture. But Christy, you were sitting in a chair and you're wearing purple with kind of puffy sleeves. It looks like a queen's chair. Tell me about this chair because I'm like, I have to have it.
I love that. So years ago, a friend of mine, Marie Diamond, she was in the movie The Secret. She came and feng shui'd my house. And I had this low-profile white chair, and she's like, "No, you need a big chair. You're the queen of your business. And so, when you sit in that chair, you have to have a queen's chair." So, I ended up going to a furniture store and I was like, "That's the chair." So, I am. I'm the queen of my business. You're the queen of your podcast. You're the queen of your life. Each of us, we are the queen. It's our queendom.
I love it, absolutely love it. And I'm like, I don't know, I have a déjà vu moment or something. I feel like I've had a dream where I've been walking through a furniture store and I've literally seen a queen's chair and I'm like, I'm coming back for that one day. I remember thinking that.
How weird.
All right, for our very literal listeners right now, I think we should go back because so often when we're talking about energy here, we're talking about like energy to get out of bed, energy to do exercise. That's not the frame of energy that you're talking about. So can you make that distinction for listeners?
Absolutely. So we are more energy than we are physical. We know ourselves to be a physical human being, but it is actually shown through quantum physics that who we know ourselves to be, no matter what age or stage we are, no matter what our past traumas, big or small, or the joys that we have had, everything we know intellectually That's only 4% of who we really are. The 96% is what's breathing us, what's digesting our food, growing our nails, beating our heart. That's energy. That being, whether you call it God, goddess, all that is energy, it doesn't matter what you call it, soul, right? That is life. And life has constant flowing, uninterrupted, pure potentiality. I mean, just energy, and it is energy that has pure potentiality, and it's always in flow. So we are actually part of that flow because it's part of who we are. It's more of who we are than even just who we know ourselves to be. So when we tap into that energy, we as human beings have free will and choice, right? So that energy is accessible to you, me, everybody here, everybody that's listening. And it has— it's just pure, it's positive. But the minute we focus on something, that energy either gets blocked or it continues to flow. And that energy being pure positive, when we the human being like marry with it or even blend with it, connect with it, however you want to say that, utilize it— when I'm calling that energy in deliberately to be like I was saying earlier, to be the energy of passion and purpose, and I allow that energy to be inside of my own physical body, now I'm feeling that as a feeling. It's now becoming a state of being. I can now think thoughts of passion and purpose or success or love or support. And that energy is always available. I like to think about it this way. If you look at a piano, right, that piano has so many different keys.. And all of those keys or all of those notes, frequencies, vibrations are available for us to play with. We are the piano player. And whatever set of notes we play, whatever we choose, that's what we're gonna hear. That's what we're gonna resonate with. That's the music that becomes our lives. Now we can play a dun dun dun, really horror, you know, kind of music that they show in horror movies, right? Or we can play more uplifting, lighthearted, you know, notes and frequencies. So we are always energy receivers. We have to be if we're breathing in life. Every time we breathe in and breathe out, right, that's energy. So we are energy receivers, we are energy containers, and we're also energy transmitters. And that's where a lot of people think about law of attraction— what I send out comes back. But there's so much more to the story. So we can deliberately You know, if you're wanting to get it, have the energy to get out of bed, it's tapping into that energy that already is vitality, well-being, success, love. You know, all of those frequencies are available to us now.
So good, such a great description. And I'm going to throw this out, and let me— tell me if I'm sidetracking or kind of sidestepping, but I think also somebody might be able to relate to You know, I mean, there are some people that are around, and I know I've said this before, you're just good energy. Like, you're just a light. I like being around you. That's kind of an instance where, you know, we are that or we're not for somebody else, I think. But living with ourselves, I think we know when we're in that moment or we're not. Like, we're— I, I can, I can look at and reflect on times in my life where I'm like, I am stuck. Like, this just doesn't feel good, but I can't put my finger on why or what to do about it in the moment.
Yes.
Yes. Okay.
So two things on that. First of all, we all know the experience of someone positive, uplifting walks in the room. I remember when one of my books, The Art of Having It All, I was backstage at a Writing Guild award ceremony, and in walks Ben Affleck. And the whole place, like the energy in the room just got elevated 10 times. And I'm like, what's happening? And someone said to me, oh, Ben Affleck. I mean, he walked in with this energy, right? It was incredible. And we also know when someone comes in and they drain the energy out of the room, like their negativity is like, ugh, you know? We've always, all of us have had that experience. Like, oh, I wanna lean in because this person is exciting, they're positive, they're fun to be around. I feel better in their presence. And the opposite is true. It's like, I feel repelling from this person. I wanna get away. I'm gonna move over here. I don't wanna talk to my uncle at Christmas 'cause he's being negative or whatever it is, right? So we all have that ability. We all have that knowing because flow is who we are. It's not someone we have to go get, it's who we are. But on the other side of that, it's not just one or the other, it's both and. We all as human beings are part animal. We have part of our brains that have a coping mechanism of fight, flight, freeze, right? So we could feel like we're in fight mode. Now, when I say fight mode, I don't mean like, "Dude, I'm gonna hit you in the face," right? Can go to that, but fighting in our own head, resisting is fighting, right? Something happens, contrast, which something we don't want, and we push against it or we resist it. We're fighting it or fighting the person or, you know, thinking of a conversation happened 20 years ago and we're still kind of ruminating about it in our heads. That's staying stuck in that fight mode. Then there's the freeze mode. You know, I hear this all the time as a coach and a healer. I feel stuck. You know, I feel like there's something blocking me, right? That's that feeling of no matter where I go, what I think, what I do, why am I just— it's like I'm stuck in the mud. Well, that's part of our coping mechanism too. And then there's the flight, right? It can mean that we physically take ourselves out of the situation and we run away. But many times it's like we're in our heads and we have to do more, be more, more, more, more, right? It's like bigger, better, greater. And we're constantly doing more, taking on more. And that's where this like overwhelm, I just got to get out of here. So those are part of our human tendencies just to help us cope. And we learned that, we, you know, we're raised in it depending on who raised us and what their coping mechanisms are, what our our traumas were, if they're big huge traumas or little t traumas, whatever they are, that's how we, when we get contrast, when we get some kind of news that doesn't feel good or that stresses us in some way biologically, that's what's happening. We're reacting from that part of our fight, flight, or freeze. And it's important to recognize that and not beat ourselves up for it. Because instead of being like, "Oh, what is wrong with me? How come I can't get past this?" or "Why am I being so negative? How come I can't change?" like you were saying, right? "How come I can't get out of this funk?" Well, there are processes and techniques and tools that you can do to get into flow because flow is the other option and flow feels good. Whereas the other ones, you know, they may alert us, they may be our first reaction, but we don't want to stay stuck in them.
Mm, so good. And I think right now there's so many places we could take this, but first of all, just to look like big picture and overview for women in menopause, there's so many changes going on. Nobody put their hand up and said, I would like this to happen to me. You know, I mean, there's just like, ah, you know, and I now I have to figure this out too while life is still pelting you because you're right smack in the middle where your career is, you know, either at its high or you're deciding, you know, I really don't love this, I want something else. Same with relationships. There's caregiving, there's young kids who still need us or need our credit card at the very least, right? And there's just all the things. And, you know, so there is that. But for women who are here who are listening, I know I'd love to think that you all are already in a program, you're already exercising, and that is Debra living in the Queen's Chair all day every day and ignoring the land. But some of you have not bonded with exercise yet, so that you may be resistant, for instance, to resistance training, right? I'm— it's not the first time I've said that, but we may resist it because it's different and you haven't been there yet, and there's so much else to pay attention to in your life that is like, oh, I got to be aware of this and that. How would you suggest Christy, do you have a question for a podcast? A question you would love to ask, or maybe a story you want to tell? Did you know we have a special group just for podcast question roundups and the answers? My community coaches and I provide answers daily inside of this group, but it's also where I go when I occasionally say, okay, open call for podcast questions, or tell your story? So if you're looking for a community of women who are also interested in optimizing their health, strengthening their mindset, and looking forward to every new year, join the Flipping 50 Insiders group. That's Flipping 50 Insiders on Facebook. How can number 1 win that description? Is real life, day to day. How would you support a woman listening in getting into flow?
Well, I'll tell you, moving your physical body— we have 4 bodies, right? We know we have our physical body, we have a mental body, we have an emotional body, and we have an energy body. And all of them have like a tipping point, right? So like, if you get your physical body going and moving— and I am so for that, I make moving my body. At least 5 days a week, I go to Pilates. 2 days a week, or 1 day a week, I'll go hiking, or I'll, you know, take— every day I take my dog for a walk. But I'm moving my body because I know that that helps my emotions, and it helps my mental body, and my— and my energy. So if someone is sedentary, and especially going through menopause and perimenopausal and having all that, when you move your body, you literally are creating— there's so many— I'm sure you talk about this too, but so many just physiological things, but it helps us center ourselves. It helps us continue to feel strong. We can challenge ourselves, right? And when we can challenge ourselves in a workout or in a Pilates class, I'm like, I'm not putting down my leg, right? I know that I can then get through something else because I know that I have that physical strength. So that is something that I always say is that whether you're going to the gym or you're going to Pilates, Moving your body, and I know resistance training is really important too, but moving your body. When you think about little kids, you know, I have two little— they're not so little anymore, one's 14 and almost 15 and 16. And, when they were little, they never walked into a room, they karate chopping into a room, they were running into the room, they might have ran up the walls, you know. They want to move their bodies. We naturally, our bodies want to move. And it helps with mental and emotional stability.
Mm-hmm. Yeah, I'm so glad you said that. And I think for a lot of women too, we're in this— not only this peak of lots of busyness, but we're also in a peak of really high emotion. You know, we're at all the highs and lows. The kids are getting married, the kids are graduating, the, um, elders in our family are passing, you know, and caregiving. And so we're grieving a life that we used to have and moments we didn't. And So much. So yes, moving to move energy through you or emotion through you. I love that. And as a great anchor, you know, for the rest that will happen, because you almost create space, right, to allow yourself to do something else.
Yeah, you're not gonna— you're not gonna find time. You have to create time. The first thing I do, and this is one of my success habits, is is I have my workout scheduled 2 months out in advance. That's the first thing. I'm the first thing that gets on my schedule before I schedule, you know, anything else, before I schedule my clients, before I— I work out my workouts around when I need to drive the kids to, to school, or if I need to pick them up, or my husband does, right? It's like, I know that Christy and her physical, you know, her body is taken care of because I schedule it. I own my schedule. So sometimes it might be like I need to be there at 6 in the morning, right? But that's the day I go there at 6 in the morning because the rest of the day is packed.
That is so great. And 2 months in advance. Did y'all hear that? So there is none of this, uh, well, I was too busy this weekend, so I didn't get it in because it was already in. Yes. Before the other things came along. Yes.
Very. My husband will say to me, oh, well, I'm going to try. Maybe I'm going to get to the gym. And I'm like, then you're not going. And he'd be like, what? And I'm like, you can't maybe go to the gym or you can't try to go to the gym. You have to commit that you're going to that class or doing that walk. You have to make yourself a priority. If you don't, who else is gonna?
So talk to me about this, because I think we're also in a moment— a lot of women who maybe aren't exercising and want to, aren't doing something and want to, or maybe are doing something, I'm gonna stop doing that— it could be the same thing. But why is it that we resist the change? We resist getting into a flow, knowing that you actually want to do that, but we resist the very change that we really know we should make.
Well, it's part of that, the resistance, like we talked about. It's that part of the brain that's in fight mode or freeze mode. You know, it's like, I want to do this, but, you know, I, I know I have to do this, but I'm procrastinating. All of those— let's go back for a minute, I always talk about how there's really 3 states of being. And like, look at— think of it as like 3 buckets, right? The first bucket is lack. It's limitation. It's where all of the spectrum of emotions from powerlessness, sadness, all the way up to boredom. This is where fears and doubts and worries and all of that come from. Most of us are trained because it's societal, it's in our families, it's just— it's all— it's in our media, it's it's everywhere, advertising, that we're not enough, we don't have enough, right? There's this whole mental mindset of you're not gonna have enough. Even if, I mean, I've worked with billionaires, millionaires, but celebrities before where they have more than they will ever have financially, but they still worry about what they won't have, right? So it could be a past thing you're worrying about, it could be a now thing you're worrying about, or it could be a future thing you're you're worrying about. When you're worrying, when you're in fear, when you're in doubt, you're in lack, and lack never feels good. And if we're using words— and that's what our consciousness is— if we are using words, thoughts, pictures, or perspectives, emotions that don't feel good, we're not going to take action. So if we're already thinking, oh, what's the use? I never— you know, I had a client say to me the other day, what's the use of working out and eating well? Because when I work out and eat well, I don't lose any weight. So I figured I'm just going to let myself eat, not work out. And then it's not fair, right? I gain weight if I don't, but I don't move anything if I do all these things. So it's almost like an abdication of what's the point, right? And so it's that feeling of it's not enough, which doesn't feel good, which is never going to lead to some kind of action then which is the fifth part of our consciousness. So again, it's words, thoughts, beliefs, perspectives, emotions, and actions. So all of those words, thoughts, perspective, emotions, they create a momentum for us to either take an action or don't. And if we're more resistant to doing something internally, we're not in the flow to take that action. But if our words and our thoughts and our perspectives and our emotions are going towards something positive, then we're going to take those positive actions.
Love it. Yeah, I think it's so important for somebody listening to have another tangible. Can you do that? So if it wasn't— of course we wanted to be exercise, we always wanted that, but Is there something else that— say a woman is stuck, she's in a busy moment in her life where exercise time is, you know, infrequent, more so than we'd all like it to be, and yet she's conscious of needing to do something to help get her into flow. What, what could she do?
Well, the first thing I'd say is watch your words. I literally got— I get asked this question all the time because we don't realize how And let me finish that. So we got 3 buckets. We got lack, we got neutrality, and then we got abundance. Neutrality feels good, abundance feels great, lack never feels good, right? So these words that we use, we use words and phrases all the time that— and words spark the whole entire start of our consciousness, our creations, how we feel. So I started, I did a program, it's a free program that everybody can have access to. You can go to watchyourwords.com. But every day you get a video. It's like 2 to 4 minutes in length, and it tells you what not to say, why, and what to say instead. Because we are saying words that pull our energy smack down in lack. And our words are what? Our words create thoughts, and then those thoughts create beliefs, and those beliefs create, you know, manifestations and the actions that we take. So everything starts with our words. And this is what I talk about in The Flow Factor, which is the new book that I have coming out or that have come out, is that our words really do matter. And so even if you can't get to the gym, even if you can't go and change your belief system, by shifting your words to the words that actually empower you and are coming from abundance abundance always feels good, or lack always feels bad. And when we say these words, right, then we're not going to feel good.
Oh, that's really rich. I like that. Okay, so we're going to make sure we include that in the show notes for y'all. So I— we are powerful believers of words as well, because a lot of times women will say things like, and thinking that this is really good. So it's, it's sneaky. Would you agree? Sometimes it's sneaky when will say, well, I just need to work harder. And I'm like, what if it didn't have to be hard, right? Because you're, you're assuming it has to be hard and that you have to push, that it has to be punishing. And it's like, well, let's not ask for that, okay?
Exactly. We're so used to— and, and by the way, drama, chaos, struggle, you know, that whole survival mode that's coming from lack. And that's one of the options that we have. It's not the only option. But when we're stuck and we don't know a way out, changing our words might seem so simple, but it's like even those subtle changes open up space. And here's another tool and action step that I would love to give someone that you can do anywhere. You could be driving in your car, standing in line at the grocery store, you could be walking your dog. It doesn't matter. When you notice you're in resistance, ask yourself these 3 questions. Number 1, what do I want? Because most of us are focused on what we don't want. I don't want to gain weight. I don't want to get a divorce. I don't want to see my mom this way. I don't want to lose my so-and-so, right? We know what we don't want, but that's just pushing against and resisting, resisting and coming from more of lack, which again always feels bad. So when you ask yourself, okay, what do I want? Most women don't give themselves the moment. They're so concerned about what do they want and what do they want and what do they need and what I have to do. What do you want? What do you want in any situation or circumstance in your life? What would make you feel good? So what do you want? The second question to ask yourself is why? Why do I want it? This will start to get you to understand yourself and really under— know, like, is it important to me? Do I think I want that, or do I want that because someone told me I needed to want that? Do I really want it? So what do I want? Why do I want it? Now here's, here's the thing on this too. When you start focusing on what you want, you get your mental body— remember I said there's 4 bodies, right? You get your mental body focusing in the right direction or in the direction of what you do want to create. When you ask, why do I want it? Now you start talking and you're getting your emotional body focused on— when you've got the mental and the emotional body focusing on feeling good, looking forward to something, being joyfully anticipating and excited about something, now your body all the, the juju inside of you starts to feel better. So your mental, your emotional, and your physical body, as well as your energy, start to come in alignment. So what do I want? Why do I want it? And how do I want to feel? Because this is the biggest thing. We want whatever it is that we want, whether it's more money, to get done with menopause, to lose weight, to get a divorce, to get a partner, whatever it is, because we think we're gonna feel something that we don't now feel. We think we're gonna feel better in the having of that thing that we currently don't have. And if we're in that space of, "If I just made more money, then I'd be okay. If he would just pay more attention to me, then I'd be okay. Once my kids leave the house and go to college, then I'll be happy." you know, that is delaying what's available and what the flow is right now. Because how I want to feel is the flow. And like we were saying, that flow, that energy is accessible to us now, not when we make more money. But when we start to feel what it will feel like now, we attract it quicker, right? We're more in alignment with it. We're not resisting what we want.
Yeah, so good. I love it. And I, I want to throw this in— we talked about this a little bit behind the scenes— but I do think too that I've worked with so many women, and often, you know, as a life coach myself— I didn't, I never took on that title, but I frame it— you're in wellness and fitness, but you often unpack everything. I find that there is almost this addiction to the place they don't want to be. And, and I'll collectively say this because I'm sure it happens to me in my life as well.
And we're all human, right?
And darn it. And, you know, and it is like an addiction to— but this is the way that I get myself from day to day. And especially when you feel like you're in the middle of a hot mess, you know, it is like the last thing you can do is take the bandwidth to potentially or seemingly to make a change in the way you've always operated or to change your thought because habit gravity is so very strong.
It is, it is. And yet it's so worth it when you do because then your whole entire world If you don't feel good thinking a thought, find a better thought, right? Find a thought that feels better. Think something more empowering. But once— that's why watching your words is so powerful, because once you start to get accustomed to, okay, what am I saying? And wait, I just said that. I just said try, and that's not going to get me where I want to go. Oh, I said should or have to or, you know, miss. Or can't, right? These words, they're anchors down into lack. And when you can subtly shift them and you're having the awareness of just even shifting, it's not even something that you need to say out loud, it's just shifting it inside your own head and you feel lighter, you feel that subtle shift. Now you're going to have more awareness of the thoughts that you're thinking or when you're now in the middle of feeling good and then all of a sudden you find yourself annoyed or How did I just go get so reactive? And it is those human parts of us, but it's not to get rid of the human or get rid of the ego or anything like that. The whole design of it, if you will, is to marry both the divine or the flow or the energy part of us with the divine. We're here together because once our bodies— I mean, my dad passed back in May and his life force left his body. He wasn't there. There was nothing animating him anymore. That energy was gone. Gone from him. And, whether everybody knows this or not, it's going to happen to every single one of us. Like my grandfather used to say, "None of us are getting out of this alive." So, once that life force is gone, the human is no longer useful, it's no longer doing anything. It's not thinking, it's not creating, it's not— So, it's the energy that then returns back to itself. And, that's what we all as humans as we are alive have access to. And, that's It's that returning to that deeper part of who we really are that when we marry that, blend that, co-create with the human part, that's when life gets so juicy and fun and empowering and it's beyond words.
Beyond words. How quaint. Okay. So first of all, before I let you go, first, we love everybody to take action. So One thing that I'd love for everybody listening to do is just first assign yourself, if you're using the word try or you're shoulding on yourself, just right now put your antenna up that you're going to pay attention to whether you say those things. And this will also make you, by the way, hyper-aware of other people in your environment saying these things. And keep in mind, if they're not on the bandwagon with doing this with you, you may not want to mention it all the time to them.
So you'll get resistance. You'll get resistance if you're like, you just said try. And they're like, get off my back. Right. You know, it's like, work on yourself. Right. Yeah. That's the thing is that, you know, try or should or can't. It's like, what do you shift it to? And that's where Watch Your Words will help everybody with that because it's like, what do you got to replace it with something?
Exactly.
What do you replace it with?
Yeah, just like a cigarette. So tell us where they can get that. Is it watchyourwords.com?
