Lose Weight in Menopause Faster and Easier Than You Ever Thought Possible
16 Jul 2024 · 39 min
In this Flipping 50 podcast episode, host Debra Atkinson interviews award‑winning weight‑loss coach Stu Schaefer about why many mid‑life women struggle to lose weight during menopause. They introduce the concept of “repressed metabolic syndrome” (RMS), a state where the metabolism shuts down, causing calories to be stored as fat and muscle loss during exercise. Stu outlines a simple three‑step process that restores the body’s chemical reactions, puts it into a thermogenic (fat‑burning) state, and normalizes hormones. Key components include eating more (especially the right carbs), reducing excess poly‑unsaturated fats, timing and combining foods using a “food quadrant,” and tailoring exercise intensity (often less, not more). They discuss how low‑carb diets raise adrenaline, cortisol, and suppress thyroid conversion, while proper carb intake supports metabolism and mood via oxytocin. The episode also covers adrenal backup for hormone production, the importance of finding a personal “sweet spot” (results, enjoyment, lifestyle fit), and offers a masterclass, quiz, and guide for listeners. Sponsor plug for Blue Sky CBD is included but not central to the educational content.

Real quick, before we dive into this episode, I have a little sleep secret I want to tell you about. Look, sleep is crucial for your fitness, but it's crucial for just plain old everyday life and function. And I find I sleep great unless I have a migraine. Oh, my pleasure.
This is gonna be jam-packed, as always, as always. So everybody here, you gotta know he's back because he's a favorite. So many of you have requested him, and I know you go and stalk him afterwards, so I know today will be no different. So first of all, we let in with a very juicy title, which I know is exactly the reason people are here. So don't want to keep them waiting. What's your secret for menopause weight loss?
Okay, good question. It's a very broad question. I've worked with thousands of women over the last 20 years, and, you know, all of them have been over 40, most of them over 50, and they always think that somehow it's their hormones. I've hit menopause and everyone says my hormones are going to decrease, and now all of us— either all of a sudden I've gained weight and I've never had a problem before, or, hey, all the stuff that I used to do that I would lose weight isn't working anymore. And they struggle and struggle and struggle and do diet after diet, and they're listening to a dozen different podcasts trying to figure out what's going on. They don't ever get results. And then they come find me, and in 3 months, bam, everything's all fine and dandy and good. And so, yeah, over the last 20 years of working with women over 40, what I've learned is your bodies are extremely special. And they require something much different than what's out there. You can't do the calorie in, calorie out. That just is so antiquated. And, you know, the high-intensity interval training may or may not work. Depends. We had a talk about that the other day. And so you've really got to dial into where you're at. And what I found is most women who think it's their hormones or who just are confused is really something called repressed metabolic syndrome, or RMS. Now, that's a fancy Harvard name. All that means is your metabolism has shut down. So now whenever you eat, you really almost automatically store it as fat. But then when you go and exercise, you can't access that really. Your muscles don't have much, much nutrients or fuel. So you end up burning muscle. So these poor women, when they exercise, they lose muscle, look worse, and when they eat, they gain fat. This is repressed metabolic syndrome. And then, it gets to the point where it's almost impossible and feels impossible to lose weight. And, it just so happens that this occurs when you're hitting midlife because of some subtle nuances with the body.
That was a mouthful, dude. Okay. Well, it was good talking to you. Nice to see you. I mean, that was so good. Awesome. Alright. I don't want anybody to miss this. So, Tell me again, it's repressed metabolic syndrome.
I'm going to try to recap what I said very quickly, and then I'll give you the secret. Okay. This— the— what happens is most women, they are doing things incorrectly. They're doing things how they've been taught, how all these folks tell them to. So no fault on you. Okay. You're doing what you hear. And what happens is over time, you just crush your own metabolism. You shut it down. And you put your body into RMS, which means repressed metabolic syndrome. And all that means is now your body can't burn fat. In fact, it stores it very easily. And when you go to exercise, you're more likely to burn off muscle. The secret that I discovered is a, is a simple 3-step process. But really what you have to do is you have to get, create the right chemical reactions in your body. Everything boils down to that. We have thousands of chemical reactions, hormones, and enzymes working together every second. And so, the body is so complex, you cannot reduce it down to, oh, calories in, calories out, or just cut carbs, or any of this. You have to create the correct chemical reactions in the body. Now, all I know how to do, Debra, since I've been doing this for 20 years, is just getting people to get their body to burn fat automatically and optimize, and in most cases, normalize their other health markers and hormones. And then, you know, when you're in menopause, that's a big deal.
That's a very big deal. Yeah. And you say just, like all I know how to do. Anyway.
Well, it's not. Well, what I mean is, look, I don't know how to— Someone's like preparing for some major, you know, Ironman triathlon, something or other. Okay, that's not in my wheelhouse. But what I know how to do is one thing and one thing only. I know how to get you to burn fat automatically and get your hormones and health markers to optimize, period.
I think we'll accept that. All right, but here's the deal. How did you figure this out?
That's a very good question. Well, my background, you know, when I started out, it's going on 25 years, believe it or not. Oh, you don't look that old.
Did you start when you were 5?
I've been doing this for almost 25 years. I started, well, in 1999 is when I officially started. So I guess it is 25 years now. And you know, when I started working way back when I was a wee little lad, you know, I just happened to work in an area, a geographic area that the demographic was women over 40 and women over 50. So when I interned with some of the top trainers in the whole state of Colorado and we would work with clients. Well, I kind of got used to it. I figured this out. And particularly there is one client. I was a little egotistical back then. I was a little cocky. I know you can't believe it. I thought I knew everything. My clients were getting great results until this one client came to me. You know, I always end up telling this story because this is really what happened. Her name's Ashley. And, you know, she said, look, all your clients seem to be getting results. I've tried everything. I've tried this diet and this diet. And she was only 37. She had hit menopause early, okay? And she was about 50 pounds overweight. Nothing was working for her. So, I just figured, okay, yeah, come on, I'll help you. Like, in my mind, I'm thinking she's eating too many calories, she's not exercising enough, because that's what we're taught. Oh, oh, gosh.
Yeah. And, I mean, can anybody here relate? I really want to hear from you if you're seeing this published as a post afterward. How many of you had your trainer say, you know, are you cheating? Are you eating? Are you skipping the workouts? Yeah.
Yeah. And so I'm in my mind, I'm thinking, you know, okay, she's eating too much, obviously, and she's not working out enough. So, well, we start going, we start working together. A month in, okay, I'm beating her up 60 minutes a day. I'm there beating her up, putting her through the wringer. She's logging her food, she's eating 1,200 calories, not much. She didn't lose a single pound. So she's like, I told you, she's crying. You know, I told you, I'm thinking, oh God, I didn't know. I don't know anything. I thought I knew. I'm going to quit. You know, this is terrible. I'm a failure. And I said, look, I'm not going to rest until we figure this out. I mean, it took us forever, like months and months and months. She's hanging in there with me. I'm researching and researching, trying to find out what the heck is going on. And we've tried everything. We tried Look, we tried a keto diet. We tried the grapefruit diet. Remember back then?
That was my next question.
We tried the South Beach, you know, the Mediterranean. When we tried everything you can think of, different exercise, taking the trip to calories, the water, you know, she's drinking 120 ounces a day, you know, and nothing would budge. Okay. Months and months and months. I don't even know how she stuck with me. I finally stumbled on what this repressed metabolic syndrome is. And I'm thinking, oh my gosh, this is what's going on. Well, the only way to fix it is you've actually, you got to put your body in a very special fat-burning state. And the only way to do that is to eat more. And in many cases, exercise less. So, I go back to Ashley and I am explaining, here's what's going on with you. She goes, that's exactly what's going on with me. This makes total sense. Well, then I said, we got, I need you to start eating more. And we got to cut your exercise way down. And she panicked, you know, no, there's no way I'm going to gain all this weight, all this stuff. I spent an hour convincing her. 12 weeks later, we applied these simple steps. 12 weeks later, she lost 37 pounds in 12 weeks. And she's looking at me like, this is unbelievable. How does— how did this happen? How is this possible? I've been doing this now 25 years. Clients always say the same thing. They go, "Stu, this is unbelievable. I'm eating more than I've ever eaten. I'm full. I have no cravings. I mean, I can't even eat everything and I'm losing more weight faster and easier than I ever have." And this is how the body actually works. Get the calorie myth, get the calorie lie out of your head. This is not how the body works.
So that is a ton. 37 pounds. 37 pounds in 12 weeks.
That's so about 3 pounds a week.
Exactly. I just did math. I mean, I'm like, had to get my calculator out, you know.
And, and Ashley was like most women that I come across. She could lose 3 pounds or 4 pounds, and then she'd gain it back and then put on a couple extra. So each year she would maybe gain 5 to 7 pounds. Well, 5 years of doing that, she had gained over 35 pounds, you know. This is common, unfortunately. Yeah.
Okay. So for every woman listening right now who is panicked about, you know, oh God, you know, because everybody wants to believe exactly what you're saying. And if that's as easy as it is, I'll do that. I'll do what he said. But when, when they go into the kitchen, they open the refrigerator, they think, what's for dinner? Their reptilian brain is going to kick in and it's going to say, no, I should just have a salad and I should put some apple cider vinegar on it because vinegar is good. But, you know, I mean, all the things. So how do you work with a woman and get her to actually flip the switch to eating a little bit more today at this meal?
That's a great question. And it's a funny story because, you know, I've been doing this for 2 decades. I have never in the last 20-plus years, I have never told any of my clients, you're eating too many calories. I've never once said that. Now, I frequently tell my clients, you need to eat more. And they go, how can I need to eat more? I'm, I'm full, you know, like, this is a lot of food. And I go, yeah, but if you eat more, you'll actually lose more weight. Then they go and eat more. No, normally it's more carbs too. And they go, oh gosh, do I just lost 2 more pounds this week? This makes no sense. Well, how do we do that? Well, we do it very slowly and we, well, I shouldn't say slowly. We do it however a person is ready to do it. And that's the best answer. There's something out there called the sweet spot. Okay. And this is why, this is what separates good coaches from bad coaches, really. And there's a lot of bad coaches out there. The sweet spot is 3 things. Number 1, it's got to get the results, obviously. Number 2, it's got to be enjoyable for the person. Okay, they have to like it, whether it's the movement, the activity, the eating. It should be foods you like, it should be activities you really like and enjoy. And number 3, it should feel natural and it should match your lifestyle. Now, if we hit those 3 things, people are going to maintain it. It's going to feel great, easy, fun. Person who's only eating once a day, cuz they've been fasting for X amount of years, is gonna have to eat just a little bit more at a time. They can't go and eat a bunch all at once. A person who's maybe used to eating a little bit more can maybe eat even just clean it up or make a couple of slight modifications to get their body in that special fat burning mode. By the way, it's called the thermogenic state. This is another Harvard term. Okay. What that means is when you do this successfully, your body will start burning fat automatically all the time. You'll do two things. You'll heal and restore your metabolism, and you'll also reactivate your fat-burning mechanism. This is a, a problem that women have when they do a lot of diets. They turn off their fat-burning mechanism. So, there's no hard and fast rule that everyone needs to eat this much. It's a person-by-person basis, and it has to do with how much do you weigh? How much muscle do you have? What's your activity level? How old are you? You know, are you male or female? Like all these, what have you been eating? What do you like? What do you not like? Do you have any gut issues, food sensitivities? All these are critical to assess what a person actually needs.
So good. Okay, but let's come back to one thing. I think that women are gonna say, okay, dude, you skipped over something. Like I heard him say this word carbs. I mean, often eating more carbs. And let's talk about women who've gone so low carb. How have you seen low carb impact the midlife female body?
All right, what I'm about to say is not often talked about, but I've, I've done the research to validate what I'm about to say. I've read this, and at first when I read it, I wasn't sure it was accurate, so I did my fact checking. I can assure you this is 100% accurate, and, and I've experienced this anecdotally over 25 years of working with women over 40 and, and over 50, and also scientifically and biologically. Okay, when you don't eat enough carbohydrates, a few things happen. Number one, your adrenaline will go up. That is the first thing that happens because there are certain organs in your body that do require glucose to function, and the body has a very unique ability to convert any type of food into glucose or sugar. If you don't get it with carbs, the body will turn other things into glucose. This is why you'll hear a lot of people say you don't need to eat carbs, they're not an essential food. That's true, they're not essential to survive, but they're very good to optimize, and there's a difference there. So if you don't have the carbs, your body will shift and convert other things into carbs, and it's a very stressful process for the body. So it raises its adrenaline and it kicks up its cortisol. Now initially, cortisol has a fat-burning effect. This is why when you go and do the weight training, your cortisol goes up and it causes the lipolysis or the fat burning. But very quickly, cortisol will shift and then prevent you from burning fat. It's what they call a Goldilocks hormone. A little bit's good, too much is bad, not enough is bad, okay? All right, that's number 1. The 2nd thing that happens when you don't eat enough carbs is your thyroid will downgrade. People don't realize this, but there's certain organs in your body that convert T4 to T3. T3 is what causes you to burn fat, and those organs need carbohydrates or glucose to optimize the thyroid conversion. So if you ain't getting no carbs, you ain't getting no thyroid stimulation, okay? And this is why a lot of women these days have to take Armour Thyroid. Their thyroids are low because they're doing low-carb diets. And lastly, your metabolism will downgrade. This is common too because Believe it or not, I'm not lying here, I'm not making this up, carbohydrates stimulate your metabolism, okay? I just— no one says that now, but it's true, it does. Fat does not. Protein obviously does. This is why protein gets all the positive publicity. And so, I've had clients over the years. In fact, I had one gal named Devin who heard me on one of our interviews one time, had actually become a certified nutritionist or got a certification in nutrition. Was convinced, uh, that carbs were bad. And she's eating more carbs. She's still working with me. She's lost, I think, 18 or 20 pounds. She's eating more carbs now than I think she ever has in her entire life. She's in her 50s, and she told me the other day she hasn't weighed and looked this good since college in her 20s, or her late teens and 20s. And she told me I never would have thought to eat carbs. Everyone says how bad they are. Gosh. Okay. And this is, this, she had gotten a certification in nutrition. We're in a very unique time. Now the next fad is going to be plant-based. So pretty soon everyone's going to start thinking that meat and animal products are evil. Okay. So you have to take it with a grain of salt, you know.
Yeah, so true, so true. It's just like a bear market, guys. It's gonna be cyclic, right? You know, the other thing about carbs though, number one, women love them. So we're— we have this love-hate relationship with it because we think we shouldn't eat them, you know, we think they're evil, but we actually secretly love them. But the one thing they do for women— well, two things I love for women is one, if women are going keto, most of them are not pooping. You're constipated, so you're not in a good mood. You think you're going to be in a good mood because you're losing fat, but you're not because nobody's in a good mood constipated, period. But it's also serotonin, right? So you boost your serotonin, you're in a better mood, and your progesterone is better. Your sleep, your ability to sleep is better. You can calm down.
That's a great point. There's two— there's actually two hormones, serotonin and oxytocin, okay? And actually, the oxytocin is what's more more in effect for the mood improvement. There's a slight myth about serotonin, and I found this extremely interesting as well. When you eat the wrong kinds of carbs, eventually what can happen is they'll release something into your gut called endotoxin. Endotoxin. There's— this happens for a couple reasons. The endotoxin will trip the serotonin release in your guts, this neurotransmitter, which will crank up your adrenaline and eventually your cortisol. Now, serotonin is what they put in the antidepressant medications, and the first side effect is suicidal tendencies. But when you're eating carbohydrates, the oxytocin boosts, and this is really the one that cranks up your mood without any of the negative side effects.
Hmm, interesting. I'm gonna have to do a little research on that. That I thought was sex, music, holding hands, petting your dog.
That's all part of the oxytocin.
Exactly.
That's also part of the oxytocin.
We believe you can look and feel as good or better as when you were younger, as long as you don't try to exercise the same way you did when you were younger to get there. We believe the science that there is saying there's no correlation between menopause and weight gain. We believe that our bodies are meant to move, and when you stop moving, you accelerate aging. Flipping 50 is for women who want to grow bolder, not older, who'd rather focus on lifting weight than losing weight and rewirement instead of retirement. They are the most powerful health influencers in the world, and they're using science to gain muscle, bone, and improve brain health now, and that their 85-year-old selves will thank them for. The Flipping 50 Show features guests and topics that help you do just that. Hosted by me, Debra Atkinson, 40-year fitness professional, founder of Flipping 50 and currently Flipping 60. Right there with you. After years of working with women, what would you say is the biggest food mistake women who are like finally getting to you have been making?
There's 3 typical ones. These are all equal. Okay. One is they're unknowingly consuming too many fats. Everyone says how great fats are and all these polyunsaturated fats and these oils and all these things are wonderful. That's not true. These polyunsaturated fats, especially in women over 50, are actually causing inflammation and oxidative stress. This is not good. This really, again, has some side effects. It cranks up cortisol, estrogen, lowers progesterone, causes a lot of issues. Number 2, they're not eating enough. Okay, they're just not eating enough. They think the less I eat, the more weight I'll lose. But you can't just eat more. It has to be the right food at the right time in the right combination. This is called the food quadrant. There's 4 parts of nutrition. There's what you eat, there's how much, but there's also the timing throughout the day because your body changes throughout the day. Your cortisol levels change, your insulin sensitivity changes. Your metabolism changes. So if you time your food with your body, well, now it's like swimming downstream with the current instead of upstream against it. And lastly, there's the combination of foods at each meal. This is so vital. So yes, you do need to eat more, but you need to apply the food quadrant. You need to combine the right foods at the right time, and this is what causes the correct chemical reactions in the body. And this is why women can eat less. They can eat all natural, whole food, organic, Whole30, amazing healthy foods, and they still gain weight, or they just can't lose any weight, because they're not applying the other parts of the formula. So, that's mistake number 2. You're not eating enough, but when you eat enough, it has to be the right food at the right time in the right combination. And lastly, they're not getting enough carbs. These are the 3 big mistakes. Too much fat, not eating enough, and not eating enough carbohydrates. Now, there's 16 different types of carbs, and you know, they all affect the body differently because of the chemical reactions we keep talking about. So, you have to understand what types of carbs and when. It's not that they're bad carbs, it's that when. When during the day, when, you know, whenever you work out, you know, depending on what kind of body fat you have, how much weight you're trying to lose, all these things come into play. And I think so many people think, oh, they hear this calorie in, calorie out, calorie in, calorie out, and they think it's, oh, it's so simple. It's so simple. And they go, why can't I lose weight? It's not that hard. I'm tracking my calories. The body's more complex than that. And you need to learn a couple of these very simple concepts. And when you understand these things, Wham! The weight will start burning off almost effortlessly. And that's why I do what I do, because it's so rewarding, right?
And we just— like, everybody wants it so easily. What about— so we haven't hardly touched on exercise, and except to say, potentially for a lot of women, less exercise. Is that in part a part of your program because it will help reduce inflammation?
Big time. Or big time. You know, look, here's the truth, and this is another weird thing that nobody talks about. When you're a woman and you hit menopause, something really unique happens that doesn't happen with men. Your ovaries turn off. Well, men, you know, but your ovaries essentially stop producing hormones. Okay, so that's why people say, well, you're just destined to have your hormones go down. This is not necessarily true. Because women, you have a very unique backup system and it's called your adrenal glands. And your adrenal glands will take over what the ovaries were doing in terms of hormone production, and they can maintain your hormone levels. Well, here's the big problem. If you're overtaxing your adrenals, because either you're not eating enough, you're not eating enough carbs, you're getting too many fats that are causing oxidative stress, You're exercising too much. You're not sleeping, whatever. Now, the adrenals are overtaxed. They don't have enough capacity or bandwidth to produce the stress hormones and the sex hormones. Now, your sex hormones drop. And this is why so many women are going into menopause early because they're exercising like crazy people. They're under eating. And it's thrusting them into menopause earlier because their poor adrenals are overtaxed, right?
Yeah. You know, and I think in spite of so much research out there that says there is— there's no literature available that says exercise actually helps or causes weight loss— women still, we still reach for it, right? I mean, it's like, I'm gonna start exercising, and the reason of course will be because I want to lose weight. And even though, say, Flipping 50, nowhere anywhere on our website does it say we're a weight loss program. In the middle of the program, exercise— people will say I didn't make any progress.
This is a great point. There is a reason that there's a misconception exercise burns calories. So people have equated, if I exercise and I burn more calories, I'll lose weight. Forget that. We've just debunked the calorie lie. This, see, this is all predicated on a fake lie. That is the calorie lie. Okay. You have to treat your body a little bit more like it's a sophisticated, it's a piece of like high-end machinery. It's not some, you know, uh, I don't even know some little thing that's so teeny tiny doesn't function. It's got on and it's on an on and off switch. Okay. It's a very sophisticated piece of machinery. So with that being said, exercise is wonderful. It's good for functionality. It's good for things like bone density, for strength, for aging. It's good to make sure when you do lose weight that you look tight and toned instead of soft and flabby. It helps with posture. There's so many benefits to exercise that are absolutely wonderful. However, there's just like anything, there's a limit. Too much will have the opposite effect. It'll start breaking down tissue. It'll start breaking down the joints. It can start doing— have a negative impact. And everyone's different. And depending on what you've done and how you are nourished or malnourished, the amount of exercise you need should match your nutrition. We have 3— this is like I keep saying, there's a simple 3-step process. One of the steps is food, has to do with food. Well, one of the steps has to do with activity. That's the least impactful in terms of my clients getting results. Okay. If I were to— exercise, of all the pieces, has the least impact on, like you said, the weight loss piece. And the exercise, though, is to really make sure you sculpt your body. Most women think they want to lose weight, but when we talk a little bit more, it's not the number on the scale that, that they're really married to, per se, they want to look a certain way and fit into the clothing a certain way. And even if the weight on the scale was a little bit higher but they looked better, they would be okay with that. And that's really where the exercise comes in, to make sure you look really good, and you— and it has the anti-aging benefit. Okay, well, that's not to say that you can only ever do a certain amount of exercise, or that you need at least this much exercise. It's all individual. And I have women that come to me who are in the healing process. They've damaged their body. They need less exercise than someone who has healed their body and has optimized their body. And now their body can handle a little bit more stress or different types of exercise. And that's honestly when things get really fun, because now, like, you're in that boat. You have done this for so long, Debra, You have optimized your body, you've optimized your hormones, your body can tolerate stress really well because you nourish it, everything's balanced. So, you have that really great opportunity of essentially being able to do whatever you want almost and your body can handle it. So, you want to go hike the Grand Canyon, for example, great, your body can handle that. Someone who's healing, who has this gut issue, maybe an autoimmune, they haven't been eating enough, their adrenals are just taxed to the max. That would be worse for them. And this is what women need to realize is you have to do what's right for you right now. And that's a key.
Such a great point. Yeah, such a great point. So many golden gems in here. I mean, I have like Post-it note heaven over here. I mean, like, all right. So first of all, we're going to send everybody to a next step with you. Those people who want to dive in to a masterclass. Tell them a little bit about what are they going to learn on that? How's that going to take them a little bit deeper?
We're going to make a special link here for your listeners. So if you go to stewschafer.com/flipping, stewschafer.com/flipping, we're going to give you a couple of special bonuses. You'll only be able to find them at that link. It's going to be just whoever listens to this. You can take our fat burning quiz, number one, and this will tell you, are you causing the repressed metabolic syndrome? And I'm going to give everyone a tip that they can do right now at home to check. Are you causing repressed metabolic syndrome, or are you actually causing your body to burn fat? Then we're going to do a very short masterclass which will tell you the most common mistakes that you're probably making and what to do to fix that. And I'm also going to create— I'm writing for your listeners right now a special guide. It's a menopause weight loss guide where I'm going in to explain everything that goes into losing weight in menopause. Okay. So, these are some extra special bonuses just for your listeners at stueschafer.com/flipping. Okay.
So awesome. Yeah, absolutely perfect. We've got that in the show notes, everybody. So if you're worried, you know, anytime you want to, if you go to Flipping 50, you'll find a dropdown tab. There's the podcast. Boom, you're gonna see Stu's shiny little face right there.
And— It's not that shiny. I mean, I'm not oily or anything. I've got good skin, come on.
Oh, maybe it's the lighting.
I don't know.
Yeah. So y'all, can you tell we like each other so we can poke fun just a little bit back and forth? But everything in the show notes, and Stu, thanks. I mean, you dropped bomb after bomb after bomb, pearls of wisdom that everybody really wants to hear. I mean, we, number one, you gave hope. We have a lot of hope today. And you pointed out some moments that potentially are going to make people scratch their head and then say, oh, I wish I didn't know it all along. It was that easy, right?
Yes.
And, and yet sometimes you have to get to that point where you've tried everything. Before you're willing to listen to the what doesn't seem intuitive. So here we are, here it is, and I'm going to point you right to it. The show notes, everybody, will be at flipping50.com/loseweightinmenopausefaster.
I want to— can I leave the audience with one thing?
Yes, you can.
Okay, we've talked about a lot of different concepts. How does this translate to real life? My typical client will lose 20 to 30 pounds in 12 weeks. Typical.
That's like summer, summer.
Yeah, this is— and this is not, this is not like, oh, extraordinary. This is typical. Now, they're doing less than 30 minutes a day of exercise, nothing crazy hard, nothing really— no jumping, running, plyometric, none of that. And they're eating a lot of food. They're eating foods they love. They're able to go out to eat, they're able to go on vacation and come back and still have lost weight on vacation because they've healed and restored their metabolism. It doesn't have to be hard and it doesn't have to take long. You just need to get into that sweet spot and do the, the right thing at the right time in the right combination for your body. And you can get it to click. It doesn't matter how old you are or what's happened. Yes, you really can do it. And this does happen. And you'll see case studies on my website. They're all real. They're all my clients over the years. And this is just how it works. It's just how it works.
So good. Such a great note to close on. Stu, thank you again. Always great to see you.
Thank you so much.
