To Detox and If So How to Detox: Midlife Woman to Midlife Woman
16 Jan 2024 · 53 min
Debra Atkinson and Sarah Banta discuss how toxins like glyphosate, processed foods, and spike protein overload the liver in midlife women, causing fatigue, belly fat, and hormonal imbalance that mimic menopause. They outline a detox strategy combining supplements, bi-monthly liver flushes, dietary changes like reducing cruciferous vegetables, and intermittent fasting to restore liver function and metabolism.

Real quick, before we dive into this episode, I have a little sleep secret I want to tell you about. Look, sleep is crucial for your fitness, but it's crucial for just plain old everyday life and function. And I find I sleep great unless I have a migraine. And I've had more than my fair share since perimenopause all the way through postmenopause. My secret weapon was Blue Sky CBD sleep gels. Each gel contains 25mg of CBD and 25mg CBN for deep restorative sleep. Something about it helps to reduce inflammation, which I believe for me was key in helping me get to sleep. But the biggest thing is so many of the over-the-counter solutions, whether for sleep or migraines, can ruin gut health, and liver health. Neither one of those did I want to be problematic for me. So this option is recommended by healthcare providers worldwide and backed by thousands of happy customers, many of whom come from our Flipping 50 community. There is zero THC, so it's non-habit-forming. It's made by a trusted family-owned company that we all can feel good about. Third-party tested for purity and potency. And if you're interested, you too can try a sample for just $6. But even better, you can get 30% off forever with discount code FLIPPING50. That's FLIPPING50. Just go to flipping50.com/blueskycbd. We'll put that link in the show notes and you'll find it everywhere on Flipping 50 at My Favorites. What are you waiting for? Good night. Tell me right now, is there broccoli, cauliflower, onions, eggs in your refrigerator? You may want to tune into this episode. You may be blown away by this episode, but don't shoot the messengers, okay? I have one of my favorite guests here, and we're talking about if you need to detox, how might you know that, and how to detox. So this is literally midlife woman to midlife woman, or women as it is. So how do you know if you need to, and if you, if you really need to? Because I think a lot of us are still a little skeptical about that. I know my view on this has changed dramatically in the last decade even, but certainly in the last 3 to 4 years. And part of that is because this woman who's my guest today entered my world. Sarah Banta, she's one of my favorites. She's not a newbie to the Flipping 50 podcast, and there's a good reason. What it is that you're doing— if you're here at Flipping 50, potentially you're seeking fitness, seeking the science behind training for women over 40 who are interested in getting, keeping, sustaining their lean muscle tissue for the strength, the endurance, the stamina, the energy now to fit in the back of the closet clothes, to feel good, look good, command the room again if you want to do that, and for 30 and 40 and 50 years from now not to turn into potentially— I hate to say it— but our parents. I mean, we want to— I think every generation wants to upgrade, don't we? The, the the way we're aging. And we should, because when you turn around and you're looking back at handing the baton off to that younger tribe that you influence, mentor, or love, we want them to be able to do it better, and we want them to do it healthier for longer. So it's, it's really so quite dependent on us. So I love that Sarah's here. She's— I think she mentioned her age in the podcast. I think she said 47. So Um, she and I together here still hanging on to the 50s barely by a thread, but I was once under the belief that our bodies detox naturally. How about you? I don't think that's the case anymore. I think we often do need a boost, and depending on how clean your lifestyle, more or less often. By now you know toxins absorbed in our body because we eat them, breathe them, wear them, including fragrances, and we have them in our homes or our cars or the Uber and the airplanes. Those are stored in our fat. This makes fat harder to lose because it gets stubborn. Your body has kind of built this bubble wrap around the fat to isolate it and keep it from circulating through the rest of you. It's a way to protect you, and yet it works so well that when we want to lose fat, potentially to become healthier, we can't because the body's reluctant to let that go. So it becomes a little bit more of a challenge. But there's more to it than that. There's more to it than just losing fat or weight loss resistance. Those toxins still do damage and compromise your function. And this episode is really all about how to detox, but we're also going to get into what are symptoms that you need to, and you will be shocked as a midlife woman to realize, as I did, how parallel these are to symptoms of menopause. So how do you know what you're really looking at? Is it menopause or is it something else? I'm Debra Atkinson. You're listening to Flipping 50, where I address your top struggles and concerns, and I share how to eat, how to move, and how to change your mindset so you can have the energy and the vitality that you want, need, and deserve in this second and better half. And if you are newer to the podcast, welcome, you're in for a treat. This is a little bit longer than some of our episodes, but well worth it because Sarah is two things. She is like your best friend who you want for your neighbor and a walking encyclopedia. She, she is a science geek. You will hear about her education in a moment. But this is a really good representation. If you're looking for content in a specific area, you can go to flipping50.com/podcast, and I will send you the top 10 podcasts in, for instance, weight loss or bone density or how much protein should you eat. So we have several different categories so that if your time is limited and you don't just want to binge on all the episodes, but you want exactly this to you want it to go exactly where, uh, give me the most bang for my time based on my problem, what would that be? That's really, really important. Okay, so my guest, stay tuned. In addition to being the host of the top 100 health podcast, Accelerated Health TV and radio show, which reaches over 600 thousand, by the way, listeners per month. Sarah Banta is the owner and founder of the award-winning supplement company Accelerated Health Products. Her goal is to help clients and listeners reach their optimal state of health through quality detox supplements, cutting-edge health technologies and modalities. Her journey was on a way different path until she herself hit rock bottom after Western medicine couldn't give her the health answers she was looking for. She discovered natural solutions that actually worked. And as she was healing from Crohn's disease and hormonal issues, PCOS, IBS, and heavy metal toxicity, she was hit with what no parent wants— her 9-year-old son's diagnosis of leukemia. It was at that moment that she knew she had a bigger calling in life to open people's eyes to the world of natural healing. Fast forward to today, where she serves her clients and listeners with cutting-edge protocols that combine scalar frequency-based supplements, DNA-based dietary protocols, Chinese medicine healing devices, and much more so they can detox, reset, and rebuild their body, mind, and spirit. She's a graduate of Stanford University with degrees in economics and psychology, as well as a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and the Invincible Wellness System. So I can't can't wait to dive into this with you. Stay tuned. I hope you're going for a long walk and that you get this all in one setting, but if you don't, I highly encourage you to do two passes through this episode. I promise you it'll be worth it. And I also promise you, if you are doing the group we invite you to, very subliminally, I will be in that with you. So I'll see you there. Sarah Banta, welcome back.
I'm so happy to be here. You're one of my favorite people in the entire world, Debra, and I love talking to you.
Well, you are one of my faves too, and I have to say that we are preempting this with— I'm kind of revealing, so I've done your liver detox. I struggle. It's funny how I think We like to deal the cards out, but we don't necessarily like to play the hand we get dealt. Do you know what I mean?
It's like, absolutely.
I used to be a fitness instructor and I would teach all day, but I hated going because I was always like, no, no, I want to do it my way.
Exactly. Well, the reason we do what we do is we love control.
Yeah, right.
You think Right.
And that's, that's totally conversation for another day. But I will tell you, though, there was a reason why I reached out for you when I did. And gosh, I can't even remember if this was pre-pandemic or mid-pandemic or what it was. I, I've lost time because of that darn pandemic. But these, these symptoms, you know, are regular occurrences for women in midlife. And of course It's the belly fat, whether or not you've gained weight. Belly fat tends to find everybody a little bit, hinting maybe at insulin resistance. Bloat, constipation are all too often things women are just tolerating and, and even not doing something about, you know, cranky skin, you know. And I would say, you know, that it can sometimes can just be dry and crepey, but the another day showing up and you think What am I, a teenager? You know, why is this happening to me now? This is just so not fair. How might these symptoms be related to or hinting at a need for detox?
Well, the unfortunate part is even if you don't have signs, a detox is essential right now because of everything we are being bombarded with. And we can go through that in a minute, but we Women are— we're under stress. We've got this processed food that is not real food that has infiltrated our system. We have the toxicity from our food, from the GMOs, the halogens, the chloride, the fluoride, the bromine that's not even legal in Europe. You've got all of these things changing that our mothers didn't have. And then you layer on that we're trying to work out and we're probably trying to do too much cardio. Hopefully, they're listening to you, Debra, and knowing that that's not going to get rid of the belly fat. But the stress is also causing that belly fat, right? And what is happening, and people don't understand, I have people coming out of the woodwork saying, I am gaining weight all of a sudden and I've never had this issue. So what is it? And number one, like I mentioned, it's that stress and the cortisol. Over the last few years, the level of perceived stress has increased significantly. What I try to teach my kids is that you're going to have stress. Think of it as a 1 versus a 10 because it's going to come and go regardless of what you do and how you perceive it. But how it impacts your body is in your control. Cortisol is referred to as that stress hormone and it affects the fat metabolism and weight gain. That's— cortisol is released by the adrenal glands in response to stress and in the acute short-term, that's okay. It actually mobilizes stored energy in the form of glucose and fatty acids and may actually cause a little weight loss. But when you're constantly running from that tiger and it's chronic cortisol, it's going to cause weight gain and it's going to cause the belly fat weight gain because what's in your belly? Your organs. You want to survive and it's all about survival. Our bodies are so smart. And so with that, they're going to protect the most important organs. And then with that stress, your appetite and your cravings go up. So you might be eating more foods and they might be more high-caloric, sugary, fatty foods when you're stressed. That's going to lead to the weight gain and it actually increases fat storage. So think about it. We're in survival mode. What does your body do when it wants to survive? It wants to store as much energy for the future, not knowing if we're going to be fed or not. It actually lowers metabolism. So I talk a lot about thyroid, and your thyroid is your energy. It is your metabolism. When you're stressed out, your body says, "Oh, well, I'm in survival mode." Slow down the metabolism. Let's let this fat storage last as long as possible. So you might be eating the same thing you did 3 years ago and it's not going anywhere. It is storing on your body and this fat weight is coming out of nowhere. And with a slow thyroid, you're actually going to retain water. So you're going to have more water retention on top of that fat storage. And meanwhile, The hair is falling out. Why? Because in survival mode, do we really need to look good with our hair? No. Do our nails need to be strong? No. We're worried about survival. And then it's also going to cause insulin resistance. Now, this is away from eating that chocolate cake. Just from stress, you're going to increase your insulin resistance. Add in the amazing amount of processed foods. Did you know over 70% of the items in the market are not real food? They're processed foods. That was not the case before 1980. Processed foods did not exist. And what else has changed since 1980? Insulin resistance and fatty liver in children never existed. And that's because those diseases are because of these processed foods. And these processed foods, maybe you think you're doing a good job by eating a protein bar. Maybe it's even a low-carb ketogenic protein bar. It's still filled with processed ingredients that could be causing and triggering your body to store fat. It's not about the calories in, calories out anymore. So you've got processed foods. You've got the added sugars in those processed foods, the high amounts of fructose especially, which is not metabolized the same way as glucose. It's actually processed in the liver and directly converted into liver fat without being used for energy. So I want to actually mention something that is very close to my heart. My mom is 80 years old. She was one of those girls that weighed 90 pounds in high school and her dad would send her to the ice cream store to to gain weight. And she's 80 years old, does not have a weight issue. She fell off her horse, she broke her pelvis, not what you want to hear. And she's actually lost weight because she's losing her muscle mass. So this is— she's really in a precarious situation. She thinks that it's okay to eat whatever she wants because she's losing weight. She just got her blood test back. She's pre-diabetic. And her liver enzymes are through the roof. Her ALT needs to be under 20 and it's at 115. That lady has no problem with weight, okay? So we're talking about the insides out. And why the liver is so important is diabetes is insulin resistance at the level of the liver. Heart disease is insulin resistance of the heart. PCOS, which is the number one cause of infertility, is insulin resistance at the ovaries. Alzheimer's is insulin resistance at the brain. The liver is where the magic happens. The liver is where all of the detoxification happens, where you regulate your hormones, where your thyroid hormones are made. And so if your liver's backed up, from all of these things, you're going to have the unexplained weight gain, you're going to have higher levels of perceived stress, you're going to have higher levels of estrogen dominance, and that on its own is going to cause weight gain. But going along with the processed foods, so I just wanted to touch on that. So I had a hard talk with my mom the other day. You did not want to be in her seat with when you're listening. But you have to think about these processed foods. They're high in unhealthy fats. So even if you were to go to a Whole Foods and buy an organic soup, okay, I want you to look at the back of the ingredients. It will say organic, quote unquote, canola oil. Canola oil is extremely inflammatory, whether it's organic or not, I don't care. It is going to cause your fat cells to swell for your body to make new fat cells. Then you've got the, you know, the other ingredients in these foods, the additives, the preservatives. The body doesn't know what to do with them. So what is it going to do? It's going to store them in their fat cells. And with that, the fat cell's job is to encapsulate any toxins that come in and store them in fat cells and get them out of the blood. What filters the blood? The liver. What happens if the liver's backed up from the toxins in the food, from the GMOs, from the glyphosate, from the dishwasher soap that you're using that has xenoestrogens in it, from the air quality that is subpar, from the stress that you are adding in, and then you go out to a restaurant and have a piece of salmon that is cooked in canola oil, and here you are thinking you're being healthy. All of these things are burdening your liver, things that our ancestors never had to deal with. And they probably could have dealt with a little bit, but what's happening now is there's so much stacked against the liver that it says, "I give up. I can't do this anymore." So what I have come to realize is You really have to be taking care of your liver on a daily basis and a monthly basis and a liver base and a yearly basis, all different steps. And, and not just January 1st. Here we are, new year. We probably all said to ourselves, January 1st, I'm going to the gym, I'm signing up for Debra's programs, I'm going to follow her workouts, I'm going to do the juice juice cleanse, which is a whole nother bag of worms that we could go into for hours about why I'm not a fan of, of juicing. Um, but you need to clean your liver. And what I've done is to be able to create a process where you actually feel good and not like that juice cleanse that you probably tried and gave up on on day 2 because you were hangry, you were yelling at your and the bloat was still not going away. And maybe you got more bloated and, and the weight you lost for the 2 days that you were on it came back and brought some friends with it because you really didn't lose any fat weight, but you probably slowed down your metabolism. So all of those things lead to why do we need to detox? Now we talk about unexplained weight gain, but what are some other signs that your liver needs a cleanse? You feel sluggish, you're nauseous. I had a friend saying, Sarah, every time I eat, I get really nauseous. And I— and now I feel like I have to eat all day just to keep the nausea under control. But then she couldn't eat just anything because certain foods would make her more nauseous. You might have poor fat or protein metabolism because that happens in the liver. You'll have hormonal imbalances, the estrogen dominance. The man boobs for men, the weight around the butt and the thighs and the belly. You have fatigue. You feel like your metabolism has slowed down. Your doctor's telling you that you have fatty liver. Your doctor's telling you you've got insulin resistance. You have high uric acid levels. Your skin is breaking out, not just wrinkles that you're fighting, but you actually have zits like you had in high school. And you might be waking up in the middle of the night around 3 or 4 AM. That is the liver telling you it has too many toxins, its function is not working, and it's the largest and one of the most vital organs in the body. And so damaging it, it's going to make all the wheels fall off. You're going to have increased metabolic diseases, you're going to have the weight gain, all of these symptoms, you actually will see a change in your emotions and your frustration will go up because you hold your frustration and anger in the liver. One of the things that most people report after doing my liver cleanse is that they actually say, "Oh my gosh, I've let go of all my anger. My kids have noticed a difference in my behavior and how I don't just get amped up over everything." But beyond that, Debra, did you know that 45% of adults and 25% of our children have fatty liver disease? That is a disease that was supposed to only be associated with alcohol. And now 45% of you listening, and if you're over the age of 50, that, that goes way up. That number goes way up because even kids in college that think they're healthy, have fatty liver disease. So it's, it's really one of those things that I've become extremely passionate about because I've also made it so it's super easy to do and you feel good day one with the supplements and the diet and getting rid of those hidden plant poisons in your diet that you think are healthy but are probably tripping up your liver as well as doing, you know, eating the processed foods, maybe eating too many or drinking too much during the holidays, and now you're trying to clean yourself up. It's January, it's Dry January for some of you, but you know, it's not as easy as you thought, and the headaches and the lack of energy that you're getting every time you try to cleanse is not worth it, and you feel like giving up.
Yeah, and I want to say this too. So you— I mean, we're right in the thick of it. We've either been through it or in it. How many women do you suppose are passing off the way that they feel just for like menopausal symptoms when actually this is their body crying out for like a liver detox?
A thousand percent. You know, there's a lot of people that say women don't even need to go through menopause, but what's happening is it's the toxins and everything that we are being bombarded with that is causing these issues. I'm 47, and it's so funny, Debra, because I actually lost track of how old I was because I feel so good. I had to. I'm not, I'm not joking. I would I was sitting yesterday going, "Wait a second, I was born in 1976. How old am I?" And I was laughing at myself because I really don't even pay attention anymore. I feel better than I did in high school. And the fact that your doctor is telling you that it's normal for your metabolism to slow down and for you to gain weight and go through these symptoms associated with menopause that is not true. You don't have to. But what we are being bombarded with that we're not even looking at is our, our parents didn't have the amount of radiation that we have. That radiation coming from our cell phones, from the smart meters, all of that, that attacks our nervous system, our endocrine system. Our endocrine system incorporates and, and covers our hormones. So it is also affecting our hormonal system. It causes infertility. If it's causing infertility, what is it doing to us women in perimenopause and menopause? It's producing oxidative stress and free radical damage, attacking the DNA and leading to early onset dementia. You also then have like the toxic toxicity I was talking about— the GMOs and the glyphosate and the lead and the mercury, the heavy metals in our dental fillings, the vaccination the water that's full of fluoride and chlorine and bromide in our food, all of these toxins, like I mentioned, backing up the liver. And I didn't even mention over the last 3 years the spike protein. The spike protein component of the, of COVID and the COVID-19 has caused a huge problem in our health The ACE2 receptor is specifically affected and is responsible for insulin regulation in addition to hormonal balance, oxidative stress, water retention, and inflammation. Just in my daughter, who was, let's see, a year ago, so 16 years old, she never really had COVID, tested positive, we all tested positive in our house, no symptoms, and that's due to the supplementation that we were taking. So no symptoms from having it. However, her menstrual cycle went from a normal pain cramps of a level 3 to a level 12 to where she was sweating, throwing up, wouldn't go to school. I put her in front of my BioCharger machine that is a frequency-based machine and I would be able to get to the pain level from a 12 down to a 5 temporarily. She would take— at 115 pounds, she would take 2 or 3 Advil, unbeknownst to me, because I wouldn't allow her to take that much. Um, but it wouldn't even do anything because the pain was so bad. So if you are witnessing that in a healthy 15, 16-year-old, what do you think this spike protein is doing to our 50-year-old bodies going through menopause? So what it's doing is, say, Debra, you had an apple 3 years ago and now you have an apple today. Your insulin response would be over-exaggerated and much higher today than 3 years ago. Here you are, good on your diet, good and consistent on your workouts, and healthy. And just from that spike protein, it's increasing your insulin response. Insulin dysregulation in the body will cause you to go hypoglycemic, feeling horrible, but insulin's a fat-storing hormone. Haha! Fat storing and you're not eating any more calories, you're not doing anything different, you are going to cause unexplained weight gain, a flip in your hormonal balance, and all of those other things. Furthermore, it's been shown to increase cholesterol and triglycerides without a change in diet. So that cholesterol and the triglycerides, guess where that's all handled? In the liver. And it's also causing leaky gut issues in people that don't have leaky gut normally, and it's increasing mental illness, depression, anxiety, a way from the fear and all of the increased stress that's going on politically and globally, just the spike protein on its own is causing mental illness. So then add in all the fear-based stuff that we're being exposed to, the, the social media issues that our kids are facing, all of that is causing your mental illness. And when you have perceived depression and anxiety, Do you think that's good for your metabolism and your unexplained weight gain and all of these symptoms we're talking about? Then one more thing I want to mention that no one's talking about is copper depletion. So there's a widespread, as I mentioned, consumption of that high fructose in the processed foods that depletes copper in the body, coupled with the influence of the spike protein, which on its own depletes copper in the body, plus we've all been taking extra zinc, which zinc is a great thing to take, but it competes with copper. So all of those things deplete copper. Copper plays a crucial role in reducing uric acid, which is a key factor in preventing insulin resistance and unexplained weight gain. And it does this by blocking what's called the polyol pathway. Copper inhibits the polyol pathway which converts glucose into sorbitol and more fructose. So here you are, you're not eating the fructose, but you're actually converting your glucose or your, your good carbs into fructose. So without sufficient copper, uric acid levels rise, leading to insulin resistance, backing up the liver, and causing obesity, unexplained weight gain, and all of the symptoms that we talked about. And it also regulates triglycerides and liver fat. Copper does. And then copper also regulates iron levels in the blood. We think about anemia related to too low of iron, but did you know that most people have way too much iron in the, in their body? It's just not in the right places. You need copper to unlock the door to get the iron to where it needs to go. So So all of these things are related to copper as well. So copper is one of those things that not many people are talking about when it's related to unexplained weight gain and just needing an overall cleanse and hormonal balance and all of the things we're talking about.
Wow. Yeah, nobody's talking about copper. I— that's the first I've heard of it. I want to ask you this question though. So I think a lot of people— and probably you hinted at this earlier talking about, you know, the anti-nutrients that people are eating, maybe thinking that they're healthy. So the question would be, is how effective will a detox be if you might be still exposing yourself unintentionally to toxins?
Right, great question. Well, So think about it. If you are— let me see, what's the analogy here? If you are able to— if you cleanse your liver, then you're able to process these toxins better, right? So for instance, sulfur vegetables. These are some plant vegetables and foods that have become problematic for most people now. Includes broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, bok choy, onions, garlic, egg yolks. And you guys are all listening going, "Wait a second. Those are all healthy foods. Eggs are the perfect protein. Sarah, what are you talking about here? I've been eating these foods for years and haven't had a problem." Well, the problem is, is that the glyphosate and the GMOs in our food supply have have dysregulated our sulfur detoxification pathways. So we're not able to detox these sulfur vegetables like we were 3 to 5 years ago. Now, for instance, my mom was on the phone with me this morning and she said, "Yes, Sarah, you would have been proud of me. I had some grass-fed steak last night and I had some broccoli." 'And what am I thinking to myself?' Well, I'm actually thinking, 'Okay, that's a win because that's better than the processed foods and the mashed potatoes that she usually is having,' right? So what are we doing? We're lessening the burden. If you're going to have the broccoli, but you're doing the cleanse, then your body's— your liver's going to be able to probably deal with it better. Than when you're stacking that broccoli on top of the processed foods and the radiation and the toxins and, and, and, and that we're doing. Now, what I do through my coaching, though, is I give you so many good foods to focus on. So you're filling your fridge with the foods that are going to work for you and eliminating the ones that could be problematic. And I teach you how to then Okay, well, if broccoli is your absolute favorite cruciferous vegetable and you really want to eat it again, well, try eating it in 2 weeks and see how your body reacts. Your body's going to tell you. If you're bloated or retaining water in that 24 hours, your body still doesn't like that broccoli and you still need to heal your gut and do a little more cleansing. Now, the good news is The supplements in the cleanse help, especially the Accelerated Keto, helps you get into that state of ketosis so that you can intermittent fast. And you and I know that intermittent fasting is, is God's way to help heal the body for free. So for all of you out there who says, "Well, I can't. I just tried a juice cleanse, Sarah. I can't do this. I get hangry." Well, when you're flipped into ketosis with the Accelerated Keto, you're actually able to intermittent fast because your brain and your body are fed those ketones immediately. And the additional ingredients are there to convert that saturated liver fat into unsaturated fat, which then is easier to burn and for the body to use much more efficiently. And this This is going to accelerate the reduction of liver fat and insulin resistance and uric acid. And you better believe my mom is going to be starting the Accelerated Keto as soon as I see her. But it also suppresses the cravings for the sugar, the fructose, and the processed foods, so you're not going to get those headaches. It reduces the oxidative stress and inflammation throughout the body, improves the insulin sensitivity, and it teaches the body to burn its own fat stores. You do not have to be on a ketogenic diet. You just have to incorporate a little bit of intermittent fasting. And I am not an extremist when it comes to that. You work with your own body to stay out of that stress state. But what it also does is it increases that ATP in the mitochondria, which is your true cellular energy, by 10 times the amount than when you're producing or eating just the regular standard American diet. So this is stark, in stark contrast to how fructose in processed foods actually lowers the ATP and steals energy from the cells. You think about it, people eat processed foods hoping to get energy and that food is actually stealing energy from the cells. So with the Accelerated Keto, and that is in most of my detox cleanses to help kickstart the fat burning and help you be able to intermittent fast a bit to then be able to cleanse. The Accelerated Keto cleanses the liver on a daily basis. And then when you incorporate some, some of the other supplements like the Acceleridine iodine, that is cleansing the liver and the blood on a daily basis. Iodine supports liver and blood cleansing. It mitigates the liver congestion due to the uric acid and the insulin resistance, and it boosts the metabolism, enhances your, your fat oxidation, regulates blood sugar, balances the hormone— hormones. It's very important for estrogen dominance in men and women. Iodine, iodine, iodine. And it promotes cellular hydration. Most of us are walking around dehydrated at the cellular level. So this is going to help with insulin resistance, uric acid, and cleansing the liver on a daily basis. And the Acceleridine iodine is the only one that is kicking out the toxins in all 100 trillion cells of the body. It's actually contributing to repairing the DNA damage caused by the spike protein. So all of you out there thinking, huh, I, you know, what did I do? What, what has— what damage has been done to my body from what's been going on over the last 3 years? The good news is the Acceleridine iodine can actually reverse that damage and stop the, the, the signs and the symptoms just from that spike protein. So You then add in the liver flush. So what, what happens is that what you went through, Debra Atkinson, and the good news is the liver flush cleanse that you did has been improved and streamlined and so much easier. What we do is we prep the body and we soften the liver stones and the gallstones over a 2-week period. And then we actually flush those stones into the toilet. And a funny story, one of my very best friends— I don't talk about supplements with my best friends unless they ask me, right? I try to keep my business away unless they're looking for guidance. And she did the liver flush, gosh, 10 years ago when it was first coming out. And this was before the Accelerated Keto started the process of helping cleanse the liver. She just did it just the flat, the straight liver flush. And she said, Sarah, she's kind of a wimp, I hate to say it, but she said, she said, I'm never doing that again. And I said, okay, I'm never talking to you again about supplements because I don't want to ruin our friendship. So the last couple, the last year or so, she's had acid reflux, she's been having unexplained weight gain, she hardly eats anything, she walks She walks 8 miles a day. And I have lots to tell her about all of that, as you would too, Debra, but I have to keep my mouth shut. And she— I said, "Well, I just want you to know that the liver flush has been streamlined and it's much easier." And she still was hesitant. And I said, "My kids have done it. My 15-year-old daughter did it. If she can do it, you can do it. My husband, who's the biggest baby of everybody, has done it." and she said, "Okay, finally." She was at her wit's end because she kept gaining weight and she didn't know why. Well, she got through the liver flush successfully, not just successfully, but lost 4 pounds and said, "Sarah, I'm rearing up to do another one." I talked to her actually this morning and she's lost another 4 pounds just through the process of the 2 weeks without the final flush, and she is feeling better than ever. And she says, "This is super simple." So it's not difficult. You get results. You actually see hundreds to thousands of stones in the toilet and you're shocked because how in God's name could your liver actually be working with hundreds to thousands of pea-sized stones in there? That's where your thyroid hormones convert from T4 to T3. You need a clean liver for that to happen. But if it's being stacked up with the radiation from your cell phone that you're holding on to every day, to the Zoom calls, to the 5G tower that's down the street, to the GMOs that are in your packaged food, to the restaurant foods that you have no control over, to the stress levels that you're being bombarded with, to this healthy salmon that you think you're eating that is full of toxins from, um, maybe it's from the Atlantic Ocean and you don't know that you need to be eating Alaskan wild salmon. All of these things. Oh, and then by the way, we're eating the healthy broccoli that's full of sulfur and maybe some oxalates in our almonds and our spinach and some of those healthy plant poisons that we think we're doing our bodies good that are actually causing a backup in our liver and our thyroid. Oh my goodness, I'm out of breath because there's so many things that are out of our control and I'm just the messenger. I tell my kids every day, "I wish it weren't this way. It was not this way 10 years ago." We are living in a new world where we have to be proactive about our bodies. And you just look at my mom as an example, because when she was growing up, she was eating all the carbs she wanted, but they were whole foods. They weren't processed, they weren't adulterated with all these toxins like we have now. It is not just optional, but is— it is actually essential that you are cleansing your body on a daily basis and then doing liver cleanses on a bimonthly basis for optimal health.
Wow, okay. And because it is January, I also wanna say this. So the liver, all that it does, it's also responsible for protein and fat metabolism. So to these women who are listening, and it is January and we're still trying to get the weights going and lift weights, gain lean muscle so that we can optimize body composition. But if we're not metabolizing protein and fat, you'd also have to consider that this is part of the problem for gaining lean muscle. That's going to be really hard.
Yeah, and I can speak to that personally. Um, I was— I got hit with E. coli, so I had a little food poisoning that when then got backed up into my liver and I was having an over-exaggerated histamine response. Well, what no one knows is fish is actually a high histamine food. Now, I'm— fish is very healthy for you. I'm not saying don't eat it. I think you need to be eating it. But when I was hit with that, my liver was backed up and functioning suboptimally. I couldn't process the proteins and the fat in the fish, so I had to stick to lean bison and leaner proteins. And when, when I do the liver flush, Debra, I immediately feel that my protein metabolism has improved significantly and my fat metabolism has improved significantly. If you are fat malabsorbed, which means that you are not able to process fat very well, you might get nauseous when you you eat fat, or you get the bumps on the back of your arms, or your stool is floating in the toilet. Those are some signs that you're not processing or metabolizing your fat. I don't recommend a high-fat diet for most people. Most people cannot break down fats very easily because of the spike protein and because their livers are clogged. So I do recommend my Leaky Gut Bundle. To heal the, the gut to go along with that, and a new enzyme called Holozyme that I started to carry and has done magic for me and for a lot of my clients to help break down those proteins and fats. So there are some other key supplements that you can take depending on your specific health issues, and I actually go through that with you. If you, if you say, "Sarah, I'm still having an issue with my blood sugar, even doing the Ascent Diet cleanse, something's not working," we will troubleshoot. We will troubleshoot through my group coaching, which then helps everybody. But there are other supplements to add in that can help and also to take out some certain foods and maybe add in others. It is magic. I remember when I stopped eating cabbage, which is a sulfur sulfur food, which I was eating every single day because I loved it and I had dialed in on how to make it super yummy, I lost 4 pounds of water weight in 3 days because of that sulfur. Didn't change my caloric intake, didn't change my exercise routine. It was just the fact that my liver was not processing the sulfur. So with the protein and the fat, There are proteins that are easier to digest. We have talked before about the amyloid proteins. Now, don't shoot the messenger. Here I go. Chicken, turkey, poultry. I know we're going, you know, we just had Thanksgiving and everything, and all of you enjoyed your turkey. Those foods are full of amyloid proteins. Amyloid proteins don't get broken down into usable amino acids. So besides the fact that they get lodged into your brain and cause Alzheimer's and dementia and possibly cause leaky gut and, and other bad gut pathogens to take over your gut, what they don't do, they don't feed your muscles because they're not able to be broken down. Focusing on the wild animal protein like bison, that's my favorite. That is always my go-to, especially if my health is kind of wavering. Did I get a cold? Exposed to COVID, or am I— is my gut not feeling totally 100%? I will go with bison because it's lean and it's nutritionally dense. It's the most nutritionally dense food on the planet. But lamb is a good choice, deer, elk, grass-fed, grass-finished beef is okay, wild fish, organic eggs I'm fine with if you're okay with the egg yolks. Everyone Everyone's different. Those are the proteins that your liver is going to be able to process the most easily and effectively. I also do recommend for a lot of women, and I take them myself and my, my daughter who's trying to, quote unquote, "lean bulk" for her sport, take what's called Perfect Aminos. And that's an easy way to get your protein numbers up because I know a lot of women have a hard time meeting their goal of protein. You want to shoot for 1 gram per pound of ideal lean body mass. So if you weigh 150 pounds, you want to shoot for 150 grams of protein. That's hard for a lot of women. So the Perfect Aminos comes in with 5 capsules. That's the equivalent of 30 grams. You're not doing that for the nutrition, the nutritional value. You know, you still need your meats to get the nutrients from that bison or that, that meat you're eating. But if you need that for an extra 30 or 60 grams of protein, that is an easy way to do it. I like taking them around my workout. I actually feel it feeding my muscles and I get a better pump from the workout. So it's something that I use and it's easy for the body to metabolize when you are doing what you're doing in January and trying to, you know, get the— get going with the workouts and lifting the weights and building the muscles, but not building the, the wrong kind of tissue or the fat tissue. Because if you're— if your liver is not functioning, that protein actually can be converted into fat. And that, the, the other carbs you're eating, everything can be just converted into fat because your body is not able to do its job in the liver.
