Welcome to 2025. It's a brand new year. And as we step into this fresh year, can you tell I'm excited? I want to talk to you about a theme that feels more relevant now than ever before, which is the power of forging or formulating your own path. Now, you might sometimes feel that the world around us feels a bit uncertain. I get that. I think we all feel that with the shifting global landscapes and ongoing challenges. But this is exactly why. Now is the time to make bold moves. You can create your own stability by becoming an organic certified formulator and a beauty entrepreneur. And it's time to claim this year as yours and make it your best year yet. And in this episode, I'm going to give you the blueprint on how to do exactly that. And I'll be following that blueprint myself this year, too. Hi, it's Lorraine Dallmeyer, chartered environmentalist, biologist and CEO of award winning online organic cosmetic formulation school Formula Botanica. I host the Green Beauty Conversations podcast and these are my green beauty opinions in which I challenge you to rethink the beauty industry and how you engage with it. If you're not yet subscribed to this podcast, make sure you join us now for a year of inspiring and thought provoking episodes. So if you're feeling a gap between what you know that you're capable of and and what you're currently doing, you are not alone. And the reality is that gap can't be bridged by just working harder or by staying in the same mindset. Believe me, I've seen this with our graduates. Bridging that gap requires change, growth, and the courage to build something meaningful from the ground up. So becoming a formulator isn't just about creating beauty products. It's about finding your purpose and creating a vision that's yours alone. How good does that sound? This year, I want you to turn that potential into reality by stepping forward with intention. Now, we all crave stability. And you have the potential to craft that stability, to formulate that stability for you and for your life. After all, real stability doesn't come from external factors. It comes from within. When you decide to learn how to formulate or to build a beauty business, or to formulate skincare or hair care products that speak to your values, you're creating a foundation that is entirely yours. So this year, I want you to ask yourself, how can I create the stability that I need to succeed? How can I shape my life and my work to be as resilient and adaptable as possible? Because through Formulation. You're not only creating beautiful products, you're not only building a brand, you're building your own resilience. Now it's easy to put off all those goals, telling yourself, I'll start this when the timing is better, or I'll wait until things are different. But if we wait for that perfect moment, we never start. So our graduate of Formula Botanica, Sandra of Nopalera, she said this too. She said, I realized I could stay here in my apartment and still be in exactly the same place a year from now, or I could change my life by learning a new skill and starting a business. And she took that leap, and she's now trailblazing throughout the beauty industry, making millions, amassing fans, creating beautiful formulations that help people that change their lives. So if you have a dream of formulating your own path, my advice to you is this. This year, stop waiting. If you have an idea for a formulation, learn how to make it. If you want to launch a business, start planning today. Whether you're creating your first moisturizer or your 50th formulation, every single step forward is progress. And remember, the beauty industry isn't waiting for anyone. It's constantly evolving. So don't sit on the sidelines. Be part of the change by taking that leap into formulation. So my challenge to you for this year is fourfold. Firstly, I want you to take one action every single day towards your vision. Whether that's learning how to formulate or making your first moisturizer or serum, or learning about ingredients or creating a beauty brand. Take daily steps, however small they are, that get you closer to your goal. Because small, consistent actions add up to big results. And I want this for you. Secondly, define what success means to you. Success isn't a one size fits all. Is it the freedom that you want, that you crave to formulate skincare that you believe in? Is it about making a positive impact in the world this year? Write down what success looks like to you and let that vision guide you. Go grab pen and paper now and write it down. Thirdly, I want you to embrace uncertainty as a tool for growth. You might feel uncertain if you can do this, but let me tell you this. Uncertainty doesn't have to hold you back. In fact, it can be the very thing that drives you forward. When things feel shaky, let that be your motivation to build something unshakable. That sounds amazing. And fourthly, finally, I want you to commit to lifelong learning. The beauty industry is dynamic, and staying relevant means always learning. I do this, too. Take advantage of every resource you can get your hands on, whether it's Formula Botanica's award winning online courses or or industry publications or this very podcast. I want you to keep learning and keep growing so that your dreams can come to fruition. And if you want to start a business, so that your business can thrive. So this 2025, join me in making a pact to step boldly into our potential. I'm going to do this, and I want you to do this too. I want you to formulate your own path by making and perhaps even selling organic skincare or hair care products that reflect everything you stand for. The world might feel uncertain, but your vision doesn't have to be. So let's make this the year that you create something extraordinary.
