Andre Agassi advice to young players

So I would tell a young player to focus on the right goal. The goal is not to win. Winning you cannot control. The goal is not to be number one in the world. You cannot control being number one in the world. But what you can control is your focus. What you can't control is your determination, is your concentration, is your discipline. If you're more prepared than your opponent and you raise the stakes, you expose their lack of preparation. But you can't fabricate this. You have to earn it. And you earn it by doing everything better than they do. Focusing on all these things is what gives you confidence. Being able to look in the mirror and believe it is confidence. Just acting as if the world revolves around you is ignorance.
