A short transcript excerpt of John Gruden delivering a motivational coaching message: he asserts that effort "takes no talent" and is a decision, and emphasizes being physical, smart, and relentless. He urges readiness, reducing walkthroughs and assignment periods, and warns that players who don't learn assignments won't play.

You can lead the league in effort because it takes no talent. It's just a decision that you make. We are going to be physical, we're going to be smart, and we're going to be relentless. We come out here, we are ready to roll in the morning. We're going to take the training wheels off pretty soon, okay? You can only have so many walkthroughs, so many assignment periods. If you don't know what to do, you won't play here. Are we clear on that? Okay.
