Talent Can't Replace Leadership

And so what we've noticed is this, that there are a lot of teams that obviously have talent, but they don't achieve their potential. And so what we know is that talent is awesome, but it can't replace leadership. And what leaders do is they take a team to a place that goes beyond talent, because leaders build this thing called culture. Culture drives behavior, and then behavior produces results. That's the performance pathway. This is the physics of the performance of every team and every organization on the planet. Leaders create culture, culture drives behavior, and behavior produces results. The best possible results on the team come from. You've heard last year I used the word elite. Elite results come from elite behavior, which is driven by elite, which is built by elite. Average leaders build average culture, which generates average behavior, which produces average results. So what we're after is next level. Nothing influences daily performance, daily execution more powerfully than culture. And nothing influences culture more powerfully than leadership. And so this team, your team, will perform this year based on the culture that leaders built.
