Jake Stein switched Commonpaper's pricing from per-customer to per-seat, cutting pricing questions by 80-90%. The company also added a free tier to make it easier for startups to try the product.

So we switched from that model around counting customers to something that's just counting seats, like how many people are logging into the product. And all those questions have gone away. Like, we probably reduced the number of questions about our pricing by 80, 90%. On balance, it's just like they're comfortable with it. We decided we wanted to have a free tier because, again, we were focused on making it really easy for startups to work with us.
