Ryan shows how to set up free trials on Schematic's Catalog page. Choose your trial length (14 or 30 days), decide if you need a credit card, then pick what happens after: charge the card or downgrade to free. Takes minutes.

Hey, I'm Ryan, a developer at Schematic, and I want to talk to you about how Schematic makes trials very easy. It's common for software products that want to offer customers, you know, a 2-week or a 30-day free trial so they can test things out, see what some of the paid features are, and better understand if they should buy the product. In Schematic, that's really easy to set up. To set up trials, you go to Catalog, and then in the configuration page, you can scroll down, you can find our trial section. So you've got a couple options here. First, you can choose how how long a trial should be. We recommend normally 14 days or 30 days seem to be the most common. And then you can also set whether or not a trial requires a credit card. Um, so one of the nice things you can do is you can require a credit card for a trial, and then when the trial is over, you can immediately start billing the company. Um, alternatively, if you don't want to require credit card, when the trial is over, the company will just be automatically downgraded to your default plan, which for most companies is some kind of free plan that new signing up users would have because they haven't paid you anything yet. And that's it. That's all it takes to implement trials and allow your users to immediately start, to immediately start seeing some of the more powerful features your product has to offer and why they should upgrade soon. Thanks.
