Ryan from Schematic demos a new data export feature that lets companies combine pricing and usage data to answer key questions: which free users to convert, how add-ons affect upgrades, and where to set usage limits. The export generates a CSV file you can analyze in Excel or Sheets to inform pricing strategy.

Hi, I'm Ryan, a developer at Schematic. When I talk to our power users, they're really interested in digging into the data we capture because it's data at the intersection of pricing and product usage. They're often trying to answer questions like, which of my free tier users should I be targeting with a marketing campaign to try to drive conversions? Or how do different add-ons affect how my users convert and how my users use our product? Or sometimes it's things like, where should I set a limit to drive the most conversions to the next tier? The cool thing about Schematic is we have this data and we've recently released data exports so that now you can dig into it too. To generate a data export, go to the company's page and click the export button in the top right. Here you'll get to decide which features you care most about for this data export, allowing you to dig into the ones most relevant to your question and then which users you want this export to be sent to. Then you'll click Start Export, at which point a backend job will kick off, grab the data you need, and send you an email when it's done running. A data export is a CSV file that you can open in Excel or Google Sheets to do your analysis. This is one actually pulled from some of our product usage, so I've scrubbed all of the company-identifying information from it, but it gives you a bunch of features, usages, columns, as well as which plan they're on, so you can dissect the data as you need. And from here, you can generate any charts or graphs you need to dig in and do the analysis that you'd like to do. And that's a schematic data export, the best way to combine pricing and usage data so that you can figure out the right way to price and drive revenue. Thanks.
