Founders obsess over scaling communities when they should start by solving one person's problem deeply, then two, then three. Trust from consistent solutions makes customers bring you more problems and want to help build the product. Salesforce named features after customers, embedding them in development.

How do people, how do startups in particular craft and build and grow really good communities? Yeah. Um, what I tell people when they want to start a community, there's so many people that I think think of it incorrectly and they're like, how do I scale? How do I scale? How do I grow? And I'm like, look, your first step is to help one person solve their problem, just one. And then you solve two people's problem and then you solve three people's problem. And if you can keep doing that consistently and showing that this is the place to solve this particular problem, people will come back to you. They will continue giving you more of their problems because they believe and they trust you. And you will suddenly realize that you can think when you're building features, you can put the names of those customers on each feature and you will be a better, you will be a better founder, a better product manager, a better engineer. Just by having the individual as part of the building process. And I mean, that, that really is what Salesforce did teach me. I mean, there is a massive energy around building customer first.
