Burke urges listeners to check out her guest appearance on Cultivating Place (discussing her book Kitchen Garden Revival) and introduces Jewell’s trailer: a concise show description that frames gardening as culturally and ecologically significant, lists typical guest types (growers, scientists, artists, spiritual leaders), and issues a call to subscribe at cultivatingplace.com. The segment emphasizes gardening’s contributions to personal well-being, community, and the broader natural world.

Well, hey there and welcome back to the Grow youw Self podcast. We've taken a little short break from recording new episodes this past month and I wanted to take this time to instead direct your attention actually to one of our favorite gardening podcasts and that is the podcast led by Jennifer Jewell called Cult Cultivating Place. Cultivating Place is an incredible podcast that focuses on conversations on natural history and the human impulse to garden and it's actually a co production of the North State Public Radio. Jennifer Jewell and I actually got to sit down and chat last year and I was so, so excited to be a guest on Jennifer's podcast and you can listen to that on the Cultivating Place podcast. Jennifer says that gardens are more than collections of plants. Gardens and gardeners are intersectional spaces and agents for positive change in our world. Cultivating Place, conversations on natural history and the human impulse to garden is a voice for with and about gardeners and nature lovers of all manner around the globe, exploring how and why we garden and what we mean when we garden. Listen to what Jennifer says. Together we center garden, gardens and gardeners as paradigm shifters, improving our relationships to and impacts on the more than human natural environment, on the larger culture, and on our communal and individual health and well being. Through thoughtful conversations with growers, gardeners, naturalists, scientists, artists and thinkers, Cultivating Place illustrates the many ways in which gardens and gardening are integral to our natural and cultural literacy, on par with art, science and literature, music and religion. So I hope that you'll take this time while we are taking a little break on the Grow Yourself podcast and listen to Jennifer Jewell's amazing Cultivating Place podcast. If you love Grow youw Self, I know you're gonna love Cultivating Place. And while you're over there, check out the episode that she and I did together on my book Kitchen Garden Revival last year in the middle of the crazy year that was 2020. Stay tuned. We'll be back with new episodes right around the corner. But until then, enjoy my friend Jennifer Jewel. Jennifer Jewel and Cultivating Place. We'll see you next time on Grow Yourself.
