As competition for tuition dollars continues to increase, the need to know more about your competitors' financial health and viability also increases. For example, since 2015, which of your private or public college peer competitors has had the largest enrollment decreases, the largest enrollment increases? Which has had tuition and fees revenue decrease? Which has had an increase? What about total expenses? Which of your competitors has had good or bad, increasing or decreasing, 4 or 6-year graduation rate changes? And what about your competitors who spend more or less than you per student on instructional expenses, institutional expenses, academic expenses, or others. Items like these can be helpful in designing your marketing messages, tuition pricing strategies, and more. This 4-minute video brings together 24 financial, enrollment, and outcome data comparisons for public and private, 2- and 4-year colleges in the United States. You can select your own peer competitors to analyze your comparative strengths and their comparative weaknesses. The format makes the cumbersome IPEDS data clean and the navigation concise using the College Viability App. Let me briefly demo the 2022 Executive Analysis College Viability App. This is the executive version of the College Viability App. It's designed for senior leaders in administration, admissions, marketing, finance, institutional research, and other areas. There's also a simpler version for parents, students, and other stakeholders. You can see that I have selected 15 colleges across 4 states, both private and public 4-years, and you can see I've just selected a set from those states. You'll see these again in each of the fields. When I want to reset the search, you can reset the search on this button. You can also use the search function to find individual colleges. We've categorized the 24 different IPEDS fields that we compare into 3 basic categories: enrollment and yields, financials, and loans and grants. And let's take this set of 15 colleges and let's just click on the FTE enrollment. And you'll see each of the colleges listed. You'll see a quick bar graph for the colleges, and you can sort these fields in the app by state, by college, or by any of the years. For example, we can look at the enrollment from 2020 and sort that from largest enrollment to smallest enrollment. And we even have a college, Marlboro College in Vermont, that has closed since most recent IPEDS data was reported. You'll also notice on the right-hand side that all of the navigation for all 24 comparison fields is available on the right-hand side of every screen. So for example, we can click on percent yield for each of these public and private colleges, and we'll see those comparisons as well. We can look at academic support per full-time equivalent student, see those numbers as well, and we can even look at average grants for students and compare those numbers across both public and private colleges in the country. If you want to focus on a given college, you can select on that college. I'll click on Bradley University and you'll see their data focus on the right-hand side. You can also deselect those by clicking on it again to see all the results. The same function works by clicking on the bar chart as well. In the YouTube description below, I will give you the link to pre-order the app. It will be released officially on May 1st. The introductory annual subscription fee is $499.
