This is a YouTube video titled "If Customers Aren’t Saying THIS, You’re Not Building the Right Startup" containing a monologue or talk recorded in 2025 discussing common pitfalls first-time founders face when interpreting feedback, emphasizing the importance of listening to actual customers rather than friends or colleagues.
The big problem that happens with first time founders is that they mistake the feedback and the noise for signal. If you go tell, like, your 20 best friends and colleagues and people that you know, they're going to be obligated to give you good feedback and pat you on the back and support your journey. And so it's actually going to mislead you. When you talk to actual customer that has the pain and is going to be paying for it, you're going to hear entirely different things, and your solution is going to morph. This is so important. We see what you see, we see the future you see, and we want to be part of it. And we're okay taking the risk that you haven't done this before and that you don't have a product yet. But we'll come along for the journey and see if you could create this for us, because it's that important of a problem.
