This is a YouTube video titled "Leveraging Regulation To Build Full Stack AI Solutions" containing a monologue or presentation segment from January 6, 2025, discussing the development and scaling strategies of an early-stage startup in the insurance industry, focusing on human-in-the-loop processes and market expansion. The content features a single speaker explaining the business model and growth opportunities.
We have some portfolio companies. They first built it for 5 to 10% insurance agents that did great. And they would just hand contracts like policies. Actually you need a human in the loop because you need a licensed agent to book that policy and insurance. And I thought in the pitch they were going to say they send it to the customer's human, but no, they send it to themselves. Their founding team is licensed insurance agents. So when they finally the customer answers the question, gives the quote, handles the objections, the customer says yes, then it transfers it to them, they book it, they bind the policy. So they did that for small 5 to 10 person insurance agencies, got noticed by the big carriers. The big carriers said, well, can you come do that for us? And they said, yeah, sure. They did a few engagements, things are hunky dory. And then some insurance bigwigs said you should just build your own insurance agency. So now they have these three different go to markets available to them, which is a nice place to be as an early stage startup to have built something that works and you could scale in three different tabs.
