YPOCSD AI Launchpad Workshop - Top 10 AI Tools for Business Beyond ChatGPT

George Bandarian leads a workshop on ten AI tools for business beyond ChatGPT, covering generative AI, plugins, decision-making, and productivity. The session includes live demos and shows how to integrate these tools into your work.
All right, let's get into it. So awesome to be here. Thank you, Heather and the danger, Amy and his family for making the introduction. So welcome to the AI decoded workshop and we are going to have some fun and we're going to start off. I'd like to kick it off by playing this video for you. Artificial intelligence, or AI, has come a long way. In the short term, AI will continue to enhance our daily lives. Medium term advancements will revolutionize industry. But what about the long term? The possibilities are endless. AI could reshape the way we live, work and interact. The future of AI holds both excitement and challenges. Are you ready for the AI revolution? So my question is, how long do you guys think that it took our content video production team to put that together? A little bit of a load question. Less than 10 seconds, right? And that's the power of generative AI. It's just a few clicks. You tell it generally what you want and it completely created the video, the images, the subtext and everything. And I'm going to show you about 10 to 15 of these tools today that you can go back, take your companies, use personally as well as have your team, your leadership team, and spread it all through your organization. So hopefully that gets you excited. We all know this man. He's one of my role models. I actually named my middle son after him. Called his middle name. He left OpenAI. This is probably Mogi started OpenAI with Sam Altman. He left and launched his own company, XCOM AI. And I think we all know what happens when Elon goes into the industry, right? Space, banking, cars. So there's a lot happening in AI and lots to pay attention. Speaking of my middle son, that's him right there. Jason Elon Van Darien. It's his birthday tomorrow, so I'm excited to get back. That's Gianni on the right and that's GP3, between the third and of course I'm GQ. So a little bit about us. Born and raised in la, as Sean mentioned, went to usc, grew a company called ami. We were in the business process automation space, helping companies eliminate paper and automate their workflows. So very familiar with this whole concept of kind of automating business processes. But I got tired of that and I wanted to have more impact in life. I wanted to, to really kind of make a dramatic impact in terms of helping people achieve breakthroughs and live their best lives. So I started angel investing on that thesis, which then turned into untapped ventures and untapped. Our focus is to Invest in AI and emerging tech that uplifts humanity. And there are secret sauces. Probably most relevant in this circle than any other is taking the forum concept, which you kind of as masterminds in the venture community, totally missing. Believe it or not, the whole core concept is completely missing from the whole world of venture backed tech startup founders. And that's kind of one of our secret sauces. We invest in AI and emerging tech for positive impact and then once we invest, we put our, our founders into masterminds and now we do that with our investors as well. So that's a little bit about us. My fascination with AI started in my 20s when I read the book the Age of Spiritual Machines by Rick Griswell. He's an inventor and futurist and author and he's made the most accurate predictions about where technologies going. And one of the things that he talks about, which might sound a little scary when you first hear it, is just the idea that machines are going to get more and more intelligent and at some point they might get as intelligent as us and might get orthodons. And so rather than be fearful of it, this audience just needs to know where it's going and how to be prepared and how to take the most out of it. Okay, so hopefully we've set the stage. Let's talk about, you know, why is this so important right now? What are the tools you can use personally in your business and how do we get started? How do we. What exactly is happening on the VC side? How do we invest in this? Cautiously. And then we'll open it up to Q and A and then just kind of raise our hands and do some takeaways and next time, how does that sound?
That's great.
Good morning. Good morning. How does that sound, guys? By the way, there's some VIP seating up here. If anybody wants to move up, especially if you're in the back, you want to move up. There's some greater. All right, so let's go ahead and get started. Let's get this into the room. We sent a pre event survey and one of the questions on the second one was what's your familiarity with it? And so no shame in your game. If the answer is the first one, I don't actively use Chat GPT, that's okay. You're probably going to get the most value out of today. But show of hands, how many people here don't actively use Chat GPT? Well, I use the free version here and there. Few people, one person. Okay, all right, awesome. So, so, so Great, because you guys are going to get a lot of, lot of value. And we did read all the survey responses and incorporated it into the discussion and the demo. So for those of you that pulled it out, you're going to be really happy. So one thing I want to share is I'm going to cover a lot of ground and I don't want you to get overwhelmed. There's three key takeaways, right? I want you to walk out of here with three things. One is I want you to make a commitment to AI. Two, I want you to build your A team with your AI team. Right? And three, I want you to figure out how you're going to play in this scroll brush. You want to invest in AI or not? Okay, we'll circle back to the this slide again at the end. Right now, you may not be ready to do either of those. All right, so let's start off by talking about why AI is so important right now. So first of all, this is not another fat life cycle. This is not like pictures of board apes that are senseless and have no utility, Right? This is not the hope and promise of AR VR goggles and spending 48 hours, four to eight hours a day. There's and things of that nature. AI is a fundamental foundational technology that has clear use cases and benefits and is being radically adopted by consumers and businesses at recordscape, very much like the previous platform. So this slide, the next one, actually, I'm not sure what happened to it. It should be AI, right? So a few decades ago, and we all went through this, it was like, we didn't have servers, don't get servers, and we didn't have PC. We didn't have mobile phones with apps, like smartphones with apps. You guys remember that, right? So imagine what life was like before we had the mobile phone with the smart, the smartphone with the apps on it, and then the cloud, everything moved to the cloud. Then we had social media. You know, we needed social media accounts for our business and our personal. We need a team to manage it. We need strategies around content. AI is next on that. So it's good that you're here learning about that and figuring out what your strategy is going to be for the next of 2023 and going into 2024, there's definitely a user interface moment going on. And I think it's important to figure out what your strategy is going to be around that. The facts speak for themselves. In terms of adoption, this has been the fastest technology to reach 100 million users. If you compare it to everything else. Human history. ChatGPT in 2 months. I love this slide. So you might. The photographer, you might want to take a photo of their reactions when I give them the punchline on this one. So if you look at this, this is the adoption of various open source technologies and you can see that they all generally has taken about 7 to 10 years. This is according to the adoption on GitHub as the measure of the GitHub scars. And these are all Bitcoin, Ethereum. Okay. Okay, that's okay. So the last one is stable diffusion. Do you see that one? It's not this line, it's this line. Have you ever seen an exponential curve like that? That is a straight line going up. That is the fastest adoption of any open source developer community in history. That's how fast this stuff is taking off, being adopted and being used. Did you get it? All right, so kind of let's break down AI and where we're at. So we're coming off of this. This is where my work. Okay. Anyway, so we're coming off of this period of being in narrow AI or entering enhanced zero AI, which means that it's capable of doing more than one task. And that's what's happening with generative AI. This, this chart puts it at 2040. But we're already kind of there. And really where we're heading to is things that might again, sound scary. I'm not going to go too deep, but AGI, artificial general intelligence, where computers surpass our capabilities for the majority of economically viable and valuable tasks. So think about what that could mean to GDP and things like that and eventually hitting what's called asi, which is artificial superintelligence. So I'm not, I'm not going to go deep into that one. That makes people a little uneasy in their seats. But just be aware of these things. We can talk about that offline and people want to go off the bunch afterwards. So we could save it for different conversation for now. You just need to know that this is going to impact every aspect of everything. Every industry, every. Your personal and your business life. Everything is going to have AI in it. And so the reason I want you to commit to it is to make AI your superpower. Right? Figure out how you're going to use this because your competitors are so. Yeah, so I kind of jumped the gun there a little bit. So. So don't do it because it's cool, because it's hot right now. Do it because you need to stay competitive and because it's going to increase your bottom line. So as Peter Diamandis. So Stanley and I know each other from abundance360. Peter Diamandis says mastermind. So Peter talks about there's going to be two kinds of companies in the next decade. The ones that are fully leveraging AI and the ones that are out of business. So Peter's pretty accurate and I know it's a whole bit of an extreme prediction, but take that to heart. AI is going to help you both. And this is what I love about AI. It's going to help you both increase revenue and cut costs, right? Because now you're going to have new capabilities that's going to help you increase revenue, as I'm going to show you. And your team is going to be more productive. You just don't need as many of the same people doing the same things. So like as an example, who's familiar familiar with Mindvalley? Anybody a user of Mindvalley, the personal development app? Kristen is right. So Vishen adopted, the CEO adopted AI. And basically what he talks about is they're a hundred million dollar ARR company right now with about 10% EBITDA. And by using it all across his. All across the board, in every woods lane building wide, they had 35 open marketing positions. After they went through this full AI adoption cycle, they eliminated 30 of the 35 positions. They just don't need it anymore. They could do it with the same people and with just the five people. So essentially his plan is to double revenue while cutting his labor costs in half, which is going to basically 4x is EBITDA. Who else wants the 4x? Their EBITDA. Right? So this is not like a 10% increase. This is the 4x EBITDA. So that's the kind of stuff that's possible. So hopefully I'll set the stage of why this is so important. So without further ado, let's start to jump into 10 tools and let me tell you what you're going to see and you're going to see more than 10. So first of all, I'm going to start off by showing the foundational tools, right, the chatbots. And then I'm going to show the multifaceted tools that are more like sweet, they do multiple things. Then I'm going to show also some hyper specific things that do one thing. They do nothing. Really? Really. One of the ways to. Well, is that what that was supposed to sound like the whole time? I don't know if I can permanently make it do that. Any thoughts on that? All right. Okay. Does that matter? Okay. Not bad. Okay. Okay. So the way to think about this is there's a tool to take essentially go from any format to any format. So the most common ones are to go from text to text, which are the chat bots. You can also easily go to a text to the image, text to video. Like I just showed, you can go from image to video. You can take a still image and have the AI animated, which is pretty crazy. Like, imagine a family vacation photo and you tell it like, okay, now show us doing this, and then it just animates it. That's. That's being built right now. Right now it's a little cluji, but it's getting there. And then also converting stuff from video back to task. Like you don't want to watch speech at a conference you missed, so you just give it a skinny summary of what I, you know, in one page. We'll just summarize it for you so you can go every which way. And when we talk about AI, definitely the king is still chatgpt. So learning just, if, if you're kind of just at square one, starting at learning ChatGPT and maximizing how you use that is going to be your best bet. And there's the plugins that go along with it. These are some of the top ones. And I'm going to show the first three as soon as we kick off the demo. And out of the first three, the first one is Zapier. And Zapier, you're already aware of it, it integrates with all your other apps. So it already integrates with Salesforce, HubSpot, and all the other tools that you likely use today. So what Zapier allows you to do is connect ChatGPT with all your current systems to essentially do what you want with their those systems. Pull data out, put data in, and I'll show you what I mean in a second. So we're going to go through. Yeah. Are you going to email this? I can, yeah. Yes.
And actually a great point. I have Jessica Rice here. She's videoing the whole presentation. So everybody who's interested can get a copy of the entire presentation. George will go in and share a bunch of use cases and. And tools are going to be hard to keep up with. So you'll each get one full video. We would just ask that you keep.
It within our room. Can you put it through AI?
Just click.
Done. Yeah. One page summary is those three things. So, all right, so the use cases, ChatGPT Bard, you can kind of forget about it. Google themselves is forgetting about it. They're releasing Gemini soon, in October. Because Bard is kind of a joke right now. Pie is empathetic. We'll chat with PI and that'll blow your mind. It's really like chatting with a therapist. And then Plug, which is focused on ethics. So I think. And then the last thing. And we'll go into the demos is. So I'm going to walk through essentially these demos. So we'll start off with the foundational stuff, and then we'll go to the marketing. Then we'll show some sales and some operations and customer service and some product and hr. So essentially, the main thing that I want you to do is I'm not necessarily sitting here saying whatever I show you should go use some of the tools might be relevant. Like, write that down. Like, I need to take this back to my company. Like, I think when I show the recruiting one, Heather wrote that down because that's relevant for business. Right. But what I'm trying to show you more than anything is the capabilities that are out there. And rather than just show you a couple fish, which is a great fish, I want to teach you how to fish so you can go back and with your team, search for the right tools for whatever your use case is. Okay? So with that said, let's go ahead and jump into it. We do have a choice. I can tell by some of your faces you're like, this is crazy. What is he talking about? Are we going to have to make a decision? This is for last check. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Remember, all I'm offering is the truth. I love that. All right, so who wants to take the red pill? Raise it up high. All right, let's do it. Let's take the red pill and go down the AI rabbit hole. So I just need to, I think, switch gears on my slides a little bit. By the way, this is a good time. If you have, like one or two questions, we can take it. As I'm going into the next. Into all the demos, guessing what is the other side, Right? Definitely after the demos, I'm going to cover that. How to implement it. What are the concerns? What are the risks, you know you want to go into? Why is wide open? Why is wise open wise. All right, so now I want to. Right, here we go. So the first thing is, let's start off with ChatGPT. Right? So the first thing that I want, by the way, who did the homework, the pre work? All right, good job. Who made it all the way with the bonus and everything? No. Okay, you just kind of did the survey and got set up on ChatGPT. All right, good start. I know we're all busy executives, so let's walk through everything together now. So first thing you want to do when you go back, you want to, and some of you have your laptop so you can do this now is you want to go to ChatGPT, you want to create your account, you want to go into my plan, you want to immediately buy the $20 a month plus plan. Step one, get on this. Step two, they used to have to request getting the beta features. Now they just do it on a roaming basis. So as soon as it's available and you want to check and you want to turn on plugins and code interpreter and I'll tell you what those mean in a second. Okay? The next thing you want to do is you want to set up your custom instructions. So custom instructions is basically where you tell it the necessary background you want this employee to know. And by the way, you should look at all these tools like employees, and you should talk to them like you were an employee. You wouldn't expect an employee to just like, if you say, build me a deck, you want to raise money for this new startup, you wouldn't expect that he or she would know everything. You'd have to give them a little more context, right? And they might ask you questions and you might give them more. That's how chatting and prompting is. So you want to first give it the right background. So in this case, I've told them a little bit about myself, my age, you know, a little bit about what I do for work, founding partners, ventures. I given it my LinkedIn, I've given it my website, even given it what some of my interests are. And then I've gone a little bit deeper on the business side. And then here, how would you like ChatGPT to respond? And I customize that. Like, I just want it to be short and sweet. It can be formal at times and very, you know, I just want to like, let's just get to the, let's just get to the bottom line and then uphold it. For my writing stuff, I try to be dynamic, conversational, highly engaging, and that I stay up to date with the latest AI trend, right? So I've given it all this content so you'll want to do the same for your business. And it's really fascinating to see with and without it. So let's take a look and do that real quick, actually. Yeah, so let me turn this off for a second. I'm gonna turn that off. I'm also going to. Oh, and then the other thing too, as you're getting set up is the plugins. So once you get access to the plugins, then you're gonna want to come in and the plugins are like your apps in your app store on your phone. Okay. Remember when you first got your iPhone and it was all about discovery and you were downloading the games without playing games on our iPhone? That was like the first use case of phones. That's kind of like what this is now where you're gonna go into the plugin store, you're gonna see start figuring out which ones you think you want to download. I showed that slide earlier about some of the popular ones that we recommend. And the ones that I'm going to show here are Web Pilot. Web Pilot is important because that's what connects it to the real time web. Because otherwise chat GPT's database stops at September 2021. So you ask it a bunch of things like, hey, what stop is performing when we go right now? September, Sorry, my database is only one. When you enable plugins like Web Pilot, you can do Wikipedia and even World News World bank data. These then let ChatGPT check that to give you up to date answers. Okay, so let's just start off like really simple. So if I don't enable Web Pilot. Sure. So my account is right here. Your account. So you click on that and you go to Settings and beta, and then you go to beta features and then you enable plugin. Oh, right. Okay. So then you click on New Chat and, and mine looks probably different than yours because I've enabled AI QRM and we'll get to that in a second. But basically up top, for whatever reason, it still defaults on chat GPT 3.5. That's the older, faster one you. But the better Newer1 is GPT4. When you go to GPT4, then you can go ahead and click on that and then you scroll down to plugins and you can go ahead and go here it says no plugins enabled. And then you can go ahead and scroll down and enable your plugins that you've already not purchased but enabled. The way to get it in the first place is to come to the store and like if I wanted this one, like I Think Stanley was asking me how do I interact with PDF. So this is one of many tools. Here's like AI PDF, I can install it and once I've installed this just like I would on my phone app, now it's there and it's enabled. So if I want to use this, I want to load a PDF and use this, I would enable that. If I'm not using it, like I don't want to use it right now, I can just disable it for security purposes. George, how do you eliminate it from accessing other databases that you don't want? So all of these systems are usually you're feeding a data so it's not going to come in and access anything by default. But even what you feed it, you have to be careful. We'll talk about IP after the demos. App store, is it built out like where some are free, some are free, like it's based on calls or like subscriptions or like how do you get to all the linking? Right now they're generally all free but it's the early days, I'm sure the premium subscriptions are coming. Okay, so right now I have no plugins enabled and we disabled custom instructions. So I just want to go in and do a chat. Going to say like write three tweets about relevant current events in AI that I can post on my Twitter. Okay. So it acknowledges that the last a couple years ago and it gives me what was relevant at that time. Might look good, but it's going to be a little outdated. But overall really nice. Right. I could have copy pasted that in September 2021. Now what I'm going to do is I'm going to enable the plugin. Now you can see it's using WebPilot, it's searching to see what's relevant today. This is the one feature that Google has on ChatGPT today that just by default Google is connected to its own search engine and so it has more relevant stuff just out of the box. You don't have to do the web pilot business but that's going to go away as well because ChatGPT is rolling out the connection to the web on chat GPT 4.505 when that comes out soon. Okay. So you know if you're reading it, this is going to be more relevant and it's going to be more timely. Now let's go ahead and enable customers instructions. Let's do that again. Okay, so it knows who I am. Certainly George, you're a great speech that align with your dynamic and Engaging style. And then you see, let's build tech that uplifts humanity. Except our mission put it there generally, like it didn't do it in this one, but in other ones that I've done, it'll include like, you know, Octa on top, you know, customize it. So again, I'm just trying to help you guys skip to advanced level as quickly as possible. Right. So again, recap. Just what we talked about so far. Get the paid plan, enable your beta features, the plugin and code interpreter. I'm going to show that right now and then enable your custom instructions and then you can start with that. Actually, maybe I should have done the recap after I showed two more things. So let me show the code interpreter and then the aiprm and that will kind of close off what you should be doing for ChatGPT. What I'm going to talk about next, you should see some kind of upload button. What's that? Download for the. So that's one of the things that's not great right now. You can still highlight, copy, paste. One cool thing that you can do is you can share your chat. So you can click this and you can share a link like you would a Google Docs. You could share a link to the chat and you could copy the link and share it up with your team and then they would be in the same chat. But otherwise I'm sure they're going to work on that. For now, that's you just kind of have to highlight and copy paste everything. So when you have it, write a whole email campaign, which we use it to write seven step email campaign. Then you kind of have to highlight the whole thing, copy paste it into a Google Docs, and then clean it up and get it ready for your marketing team to send up the email. Okay. AI qrm. So AI QRM is a extension and you're gonna. So you can go in and download that AIPRM Chrome extension. Right? You can go to the Chrome store. It's not letting me because I already have it. So you just search for that and then you'll be able to get something that looks like this. And what this extension does is it helps you with prompting and it gives you all the cheat codes for how to pump for it. So how many people in here, like have been thinking about like, you know, one of the things I should do is write a book. That's got to be part of my journey. I think I have a great story to tell and, you know, I want to write a book, but never get around to it, right? Like you only see authors speak. You're like, I should do that one day. But well, let's see if ChatGPT help you. I bet you five people are going to leave today at my report. All right, so let's. So once you have aiprm, I'm going to go ahead and search on. I'm just going to go here on the search on the right and type in writing a book. All right, there we go. Yeah, so again we'll talk about that. So if you guys want, we could hit that head on right now. Like one important thing is you have to know which ones are taking your data, adding it to their model and which ones are not. So a lot of them are. So now you have to be careful. What are you actually doing? Right? So like some companies are just like nothing that's IP or we're going to get to that. But yeah, search for it in your Google browser. It's a Google extension. It's a Google Chrome extension. Correct, it's a Google Chrome extension. And everything you talk about is directly through a desktop or laptop, down through a phone. Right There is the ChatGPT, the app. So you could do a lot of the basic searches, but the real power of it is going to be on the. Okay, so all right, here we go. I mean I'm sure all of them will be just fine. So okay, so this is one that I think will be relevant for all of us, right? So let's say I want to write a book on how integrating the concept of ypo forums into venture backed startups helps tech startup founders learn and problem solve faster and grow better companies with better work, life balance and mental health. So how many people think that it'll create a book just based on that one? Not convinced yet. All right, let's go. Anybody having their aha moment yet? Okay, so it laid out the titles, the chapters, now doing the introduction or preface, and obviously I had prepared this, but this is not scripted. Like we can do this on whatever topic, any we want. It's just that I think something that I wanted to be powerful, but none of what I'm showing you is pre built. Everything is generative. Okay. And so then it's gonna I think go into writing the first chapter and then it's gonna ask me like, do you want me to keep going? All right, Kristen, are you going to write your book after this? Right.
I would just like you all to know that the learning calendar was named My2Channel.
I'm willing to. So again like, is this going to help you get over your writer's block and your entrepreneur's time limit, saying, I don't have time to write that book that I always wanted to write? Absolutely. Is it going to be a dumb book ready to go to the publisher? No, but it's going to, in this case, maybe get you 80% of the way there. You copy paste it, put it into Word or Google Docs and then customize it, have your story, your experience as a forum, in this case, my journey, launching two forums and the profound impact it had on my life and how my forum mates are my, you know, my best friends and all that stuff. And then. And then add my VC touch and my VC experience and how I'm doing it, and I'm done. I pretty much have a, you know, a full book there. Can you talk about for a second writing? You started at sort of like copyright, right? What was that? I'm not sure. You can check? Yeah. Are you used to the premium version of the AI? Not the paid one, but not the paid one. But I think if you. If you create an account and log in, it gives you more access. I'm using that one. There's three levels access. Okay. So that's what I wanted to show for ChatGPT. And again, if you just kind of walked away, only did that, that would be a huge win, getting all the things set up that we just talked about and then being able to start using that and take that back, take that back to your leadership team, take that back to the rest of your team and start figuring out how you. How you want to use it. Yeah, we're going to talk about copyright later. Good question. Short answer is I did in this case once I customized it, but there are. It's gray area and it's view and another word. Okay. All right, so let's keep going. This was really just kind of the starting point for you guys, right? This was just the basic, like how to get started. Some of the white belt, yellow belt moves. Right. Let's keep going. Let's do some red belt, brown belt, and we'll get to some black belt moves, give you prompts. Exactly. So basically, if I go into this one, it has all these prompts so I can search by topic. So let's say I want to do something for. On generative AI, an activity, I want to do something relating to creating an image, or in this case, I want to do copywriting and I want to do. I want to write a. I want to do like a sales outreach so you can search for different things that you want to do and then it will essentially take the job of the prompting and knowing even what you need to ask off your hands. So it's got like thousands of prompt and then the prompts are reviewed so you can see how many people have given it a thumbs up and how many people have chatted about it. So you can kind of judge based on the thumbs up what is more popular and being used a lot versus like some developer kid somewhere. Just put it up right again, just like the app store and then you can start trying it out. But these are just prompt prompts. So crush an email for Simmons for cold contact. I haven't tried this one. You can try that. I'm not sure exactly how this one works, but I'm going to show other examples of this later. Okay. So I want to, I want to keep moving forward. So like I said for Bard. So let's take a look at the other engines for Bard. I'm just going to unobtain. How are we doing on time 10? Yeah, definitely going on for now. Quad. The main thing to know about Claude is just the ethical one. So ethics are really important to you. Like in healthcare, government, legal, anthropic, real Claude with ethics really in mind. But the one that I think is interesting is perplexity. So perplexity is good for very highly researched and technical items because the problem you have with all the engines is something called hallucinations where it just makes up stuff. So you have to be careful. Not everything that it says is true. Right. So you have to read it, you have to run your own check through it. Perplexity, cites and sources. So if you wanted to do like what is happening if you see today that you see first it cited sources and then it summarizes it. And then maybe this was too broad because it's just talking about intel and Saudi Arabia. So I could go more specific. And this is really good for research. If you're doing research for content, blog posts and stuff like that, this is really good for that. Now let's go to PI. And PI is cute and fun because as you can already tell, this is the one that is the empathetic one that I was mentioning. So. And you gotta give this one a try. So I know I've been doing a lot of examples, but why don't we open it up? Somebody gave me maybe a real life challenge that either not you, unless you're willing to share it, but something that you think you know, wife your would be struggling with or like yours employees might be struggling with today. Throw out an example. Time balance. Huh? Balancing time to be home, work, life. Perfect. Okay, so I'm a stressed out ypo trying to balance work, life balance. So whatever I was talking about must have to do with food. So you can kind of read what it's saying there. Wow, we changed, period. I'm starting here. Things aren't going well. Sounds like there's a lot of pressure and frustration. Can you tell me a little bit more about what's going on? What's making musk? How are you feeling about everything? Well, I'm super excited about AI and building a business, but life feels I'm not sharing. I mean, it's coming up with legitimate good questions. Right. Like a therapist. Now I have to pick up about that. So let's just say I work from home, but probably spend 80 plus hours in my office. Okay. Setting boundaries. Yes. And I failed when things got busy. Right. Boundaries are easy when. Anyway, you could see that. That's an example people are using. Using this a lot already who are lonely, people who are sad. And it's not a therapist marketed that way. But that's the way this was built. And this was built not just to talk to the back of problems, but for it to be the kind of the human personal assistant, the one that I think like the example being maybe it was like, you know, if your dog dies and you tell ChatGPT, ChatGPT says, well, that's sad. You know, do you want to look at the shelter? I could show you three new places you could get in the dog. Whereas PI would be like, wow, that must be so hard. A dog dying, human dying. How are you feeling right now? Right. A completely different approach. So, all right, so let's change the energy a little bit, go into something that's a little more fun. So those are the main chatbots, right? Those are the main chatbots. Now let's go into some of the more specific tools. So here's a good one. So I have my email drafted off to Heather here. So this one is another Chrome extension. So you get it from the Chrome store. It's called Chat GPT Writer. A number of you guys asked about emails. How can I make my emails better? Like, I think I saw that I was common thing I saw in the, in the survey. So I'm going to go ahead and open up chatgpt Writer and if there was a thread with me and Heather, it would see it here. But I'm starting a new email and then I'M going to say thank Heather for providing me to speak to YPO co San Diego and request she introduce me to other furniture. Right so this is after the fact I'm on the train going back home later today. I want to time held her up with really nice email. I want to thank her for this and I want chat GPT right as well. Okay so it went ahead and loaded up so let's take a look. Gratitude for the YPO coastal so I made a mistake there San Diego invitation small fever hey Heather. I hope this manual I want to understand my heartfelt dancers an incredible opportunity to speak at re Coastal San Diego. It's an honor to be part of such a vibrant community of professionals and I'm truly excited to share my insights. Okay so I, I, I have to make it a little more clear so so it's thinking that it's in the future. So thanks for inviting me to speak at San Diego earlier today. Right. And now we generated and I guess if you to make a mistake I made a mistake. So let's regenerate again. Okay so now same concept the other article things. The insightful discussions and interactions we had during the event highlighted the immense performance potential for growth and innovation within the YPO community. I'm generally thrilled to have part of it. On a related note, I would really appreciate you introduced me blah blah blah. Right. So again, I don't have to take this exactly as is, but I can insert the generated response and then I can customize it and then send it out. So it really helped me. Right? It helped me, it helped me convey Empress. This is integrated to ChatGPT and because it's pulling my custom instructions, it also knows who I am and how I like to communicate. Okay, so this works great for Gmail. For your Gmail users, it'll show up as this plugin here for Outlook. It doesn't work on the Outlook desktop, but if you use the Outlook web, it works. Boom. Now some of you might start feeling like, oh, this is going to start to feel like impersonal, like just some of this fake. And yeah, now you can see where this is going. Right? So what's going to happen when everybody's using AI to generate everything? Every email you get is generated with AI and all that stuff. I'm going to show you, we're going to later we're going to make a call with AI. AI is going to make a call to a debt collector of all things. So okay, so let's switch gears. So that was kind of like the Easy, you know, idea of email. That is one of probably many tools that can help with your email writing. Better emails, quicker. I mean, that was an easy one. I could have taken that one with Heather. But imagine it was one with an employee where we're having an issue, right? And so you just give it like, you know, Johnny is showing up late to work. I want to mention that it's brought up and I just want documented writing that, you know, this can't happen again. I just want it to be clear. I could draft it out, right? So I'm not saying replace the jar, but it could really help you with your communications. Okay, so now let's go ahead and switch gears and let's do something in the decision making space. So there's a tool here called Rationale by Chennai and it might look like there's a lot on my screen here. And just for the sake of time, I think what I'd rather do is just this one is for you, the executive. This is an executive strategy and decision making tool. So what's cool about it is you can again set up your Persona. So your Persona is like your, you know, your custom instructions, which I've done. I basically just copy pasted the same Persona from before and now you can use it for decision making. And you know, again, it's not always going to give you new insights, but it's going to very quickly run you through four business decision making methods of pros and cons. Swot, multi option analysis, like choosing between different options and then a causal change. Like if I do this, what will happen? Right? So like we put like, should we attend New York that week as a team and get an Airbnb and how it talks. So like we did the pros and cons. What should our strategy be? Premier technique. So it gave me pros and cons of why we should go or why we shouldn't go. Then we did the other one on swat, we did a SWOT analysis on going to New York technique. Then we did the choosing from three options. We used the 10 year tech week. Do we host an event or do we not attend? And it kind of gave me its thoughts on the options. And then finally I did the causal chain analysis which is like, okay, we go to New York Tech Week. It's a continuous success. My team is happy. We need promising startup, all these things happen. But we could also go to Tech Week. We might have logistical issues and it did not go well, stuff like that. So, you know, anyway, it's a decision making tool. I Think it's a cool one? It's a good one for the executive team? I think so. Yeah. I think we could add that to the Persona and we could say like, you know, we've been going to Tech Week, we did LA Tech Week, we did New York Tech Week, you know, was successful and now we're considering SF Tech Week, Denver Tech Week. Question. Yeah. Go back to your email. Yeah. Could you ask GBT to search for previous emails, state sent Hender list content of what you guys spoke to, spoke about before? Yeah, exactly. So what I was saying earlier, so if, if there was, it would have put it in the email context or I could have copy pasted it. So because I don't use Gmail, you see, it's all in data. If, if I was replying to Heather's last email, it would have gotten that contest well, through all your emails. I don't know if I'll look through all of their emails. That might be more confusing because it probably wants to think that it's replying to her last email. So like if somebody sends you a email, you don't know how to respond, you just hit a fine, you enable this, then tell it what you want to respond and it'll draft a response to that email. You probably see everybody's coming into meetings with their AI tool. Otter is the one I use. So I think this was kind of a fun example. There was. So we work with government agencies as well. We have a number of government clients that hire us for do cool startup effect programming in their town. Nobody in the San Diego county area but in LA and Long Beach. And so there's a Long beach virtual board meeting which I couldn't attend, but my Otter went in my place. They let my Otter in. So my Otter took notes of the whole meeting. And the part that I care about is this Launch Beach. So Long beach has this Launch beach initiative. So I want to just jump to that and, and then I just want to press play and just see what's underway right now.
And in that program the students have a list of.
This is Leah, the leader of Long Beach Economic Development Corporation running the meeting. And I was able to jump to that part of the meeting and I also have a copy of the text as well as what was being presented. So this is more than just using Zoom or teams to record your meetings, but it's actually to be able to have the notes and many times you'll have action items and things like that. Also it's cool to have this open if you're having a brainstorming and like let's say Heather's with her team and they're trying to brainstorm the copy and Heather just kind of riffs on it. You have this open, you just highlight all of that. Let's say whatever Heather said, you copy and you put it in the chatgpt. Write me an email campaign based on what our CEO just said. So you know how you see in meetings people's Fireflies or Otter are joined meeting with them. So in this case, you know, I joined a meeting and my otter joins the meeting. But in this case I couldn't make the meeting. So my otter still had it on the calendar. So my otter joined and she left my order in. So my Otter attended in my place. And I can just get the highlighted what happened? I downloaded the order in my computer so I and then I haven't joined the Zoom meeting or if having a in person meeting generally once you create your account, it will then link up with your calendar and then it will join your meetings with me. And then, and then if you don't want to report it, then you can not let it in. Or if somebody else puts it in, you can say hey, take my order out. One question. Yeah. When you mentioned Calendar, is it Google Calendar specifically for Apple or Linux? I think it works with all of them. And when you use Chrome, is it a preference for Chrome with all these plugins or standard AI then it's a hardware. The latter. Chrome is the recommended works better I think AIPRM doesn't work on the others. I'd recommend Chrome in general. But yeah, Otter's like gone, right? Okay, decision point. Do we do more demos or do we go into back into the PowerPoint and talk about. You have a webinar you can just schedule on your order the webinar you can go in without you doing anything and then you can just the the case the host would have to let you in. And I don't think it works the same way for webinars. This one was just a little bit of a fluke. It's usually not going to go into place. You usually goes with you and it's like your assistant taking notes and then you have all the notes after you have to know in secure order. It's not that but you put it on your schedule. It's going to automatically join the meeting. The host of the meeting has to let the otter.
So George, just because this seems of particular interest, do you want to take them to the honor site and just show them the action.
I can. We're already tight on time, so it's easy. You just get a subscription. You know, you sign up, create an account, go through their onboarding flow and then you can do that.
And so it's like a technical meeting, notes taker, that typically attends with you. What George's point was he did not attend the meeting and the host of the meeting let in his chief notes to take her.
There's a practical side to it, meaning everybody who attended that meeting knows that it's being reported and sometimes people are sensitive to. They don't know where that's so internal meetings or people in your trusted environment that can be open can be reported. They may not have a choice. But outside of st, a lot of times I eject I agree.
And build legally.
Is that. No, that right? States have different rules about recording, but generally you need to get right. Okay, so let's switch gears. Who has the next billion dollar app idea? Anybody? Anybody have some ideas on new software product you want to build and launch? No. The young generation here? None of you guys? No. All right, well if you did, let me show you how easy it would be with this tool called UI Serve. So you have one? Yes. I'm going to build a thing that automatically makes every romantic relationship sound amazing. Right? Like not screw up romantic relationship. No, that's great. I just don't know if that's a good fit for like so like. So we have a venture studio where we build ventures as well. One of the ideas that we have been working on is we call it Team is a guided business meditation app to help entrepreneurs employees manifest their business goals and achieve breakthroughs using meditation. Any other meditators in the room? Okay, great. Adana's meditation before coming over here. And so I want, I want a modern startup aesthetic techie. Yum. And then generate my project. So what I'm trying to show here is in the past in order, you know, don't come in idea to being able to have like get a prototype, you know, would take so much time. Even if you had a designer here, you could just go ahead and again give it a prompt. This is good enough to get some prototype images that you can now take to customers to see if people want to buy it. You can take it to investors to see if you want to raise money for it. You can just take it to your team and say guys, what do you guys about this? Right, so in this case again, don't expect it to get you 100% of the way there, but can it get you A good chunk of the way there in just a few clicks. So let's go ahead and see what this did. So who's in the software? Design software design business software building software. Right. Like you can appreciate crazy this is to be able to this quickly have an app flow. Okay. Literally just in a couple seconds. Look at that. Team bonus. A few breakthroughs of meditation. So you click it, create your account, get started. Come in here. Okay. This is like a task list. That's not really what I wanted. It's not perfect. Wants me to go here so I can create a profile page. Go back to the home page and not seeing it here, but there should be like the actual meditations. So this is like Figma, basically. Is this like Figma using generative AI without having a designer? Yeah. So like here we go. So if you. Was that. Yeah, I think. But does it output the figma? I don't know. I assume so. So here it went ahead and created some meditations and here like a meditation play button. So is it exactly what I'm intending? No. But then I get a couple screens that I could use that I could show my designer or an investor to say, or customer and say, hey, would you buy this for your company, Kristin, like you're a big believer in meditation. If we have this app and we licensed it for employee per month, would you license it for your 100 employees? It got the job done again in a bit.
You also use it to critique your current. Current software or your current website, the application of it?
I don't think so. Because this is generative. It will do it for mobile and it'll do it for web, but I don't think it'll look at an existing website. Okay, so let's see. With the time we have left, we're not going to to get through everything else, which is okay. You guys have been asking a lot of good questions. Zapier, I made that point. Like Zapier won't let you connect everything to everything. If you're doing a lot of marketing and social media, Publer is a good one. It'll automatically generate and post your social media. So check out Publer. I'm just going to kind of fly through. You just need to create an image. Midjourney is still the best, but it requires working through discord, which is hard. Just go to Microsoft being an image creator which is using dolly. So who needs a graphic right now? Anybody? How about CEOs and AI workshop? That's a little hard. So what's important to note here Is this is generative. That is not stock photography. It generated this image kind of like an Indian version of me. And if you look closely you can actually tell that it's generative. You tell that that's not a human face but you know people is a little harder. So if I just said other things, you know. So this is a tool you can use for images so text can image that we were talking about. And then this was the one that I used to create that video in the beginning. So that video that I played for you guys was that one. And if I wanna here is another one where I just gave it the prompt that I gave it. So just for the sake of time, I think the prompt that I gave it was create a video showing how George Bandarian and Untapped Ventures are helping AI startup founders build amazing companies and raise money. Show images of George Bandarian and founders mentioned how one unique value add Untapped Ventures offers its portfolio of companies is the founder masterminders like Watino Forum, all that stuff. In the world of AI startups, George Von Dian and Untapped Ventures are making a difference. They help founders build Untapped Ventures offers a unique value add to its portfolio companies the founder mastermind. It's like ypo forums, providing a platform for founders to connect and learn from each other. I don't know what the heck that was in the background. I told you it's not perfect. We'd have to figure out what that was and cut that out. That was playing not a kid a little bit from a video. Right? So this looks cool for going from text to video. Probably the most comprehensive marketing suite that I recommend you check out is writesonic. I'm not even going to have time to scratch the surface with this one, but you could go ahead and AI article writer so it'll help you write articles. You have like the chatbot, they have their own like like engine and a bunch of other things. Just too many things for me to even show. So I would say like when we talk a little later on about investing, I think the ones that the startups that are going to win is not the single use case. Ones that basically are a wrapper on top of ChatGPT that have no defensibility. It's the ones like this that are building goals that's going to take care of a whole use case or a whole business function. Like in this case Red Sonic is wanting to take care of your whole marketing and more using generative AI. So check them out Daily AI is great for Newsletters. This is one of our portfolio companies. So it'll, it'll automate the creation of your daily newsletter that goes out to your customer list and then it'll just kind of search whatever CTAs you want in there. They're having some of the industry leading open rates and click through rates. Tony Robbins, Joe Polish, Peter Diamandis, Karen Harrell, a bunch of people that have big email lists are using this. So if you have a big email list that you're not emailing daily, recommend you check out AI.
And for just go back to White Song. That was the marketing tool that you were marketing. So this was about the social posts. I think it, it may be a good opportunity to just take a look.
Quickly at a demo. On social.
Because I think that.
On social.
Yeah, I think that's an area that probably our teens spend a lot of time. Okay, agree, disagree. Be interested in looking at social demo.
Sure. I don't know if I. So the one with the zapier is doing some weird stuff and if we.
Can'T get there, that's all right.
Yeah, just.
We blew through White Sonic and I think in terms of business, that's a good opportunity to augment talent with technology.
Right. So for example, the, the, the powerful thing is the AI writer. So let's start with that one. So topic, what would you like to write about?
I would like to.
Right.
About the bipartisan infrastructure bill.
Again, I don't know. I assume so. So, so here it went ahead and created. So now it wants you to pick a few that you want it to reference and write in the article. And then you could, you know, customize the tone, the voice amount, your brand, the quality of type and keywords, additional information, SEO tags, stuff like that. And now it'll write something. And so again, back to the earlier point. This is now original because it's writing this for you. So it's not even though it's referencing other sources. This is now your blog post and you can post it on your blog. I'm not familiar with this program. How's it going?
So I have some friends that own PR companies, not Jamie, but other PR agencies that are literally writing their customers Forbes articles and blog posts this way.
Yeah, totally. And as a matter of fact, one of the tricks that I'm seeing in hiring is adding a question around how familiar somebody is with AI. Whether it's like 1 to 10 or like what have you been doing with Chat GPT lately? And not hiring anybody that's not like excellent AI already? I don't know if you want to get to this way. A lot of tools. Yeah. So by the way, that was part of the design. Right. And we'll come back to simplifying into the key three takeaways, but really wanted to like, have one of those, like, shake you up sessions on what's possible in all kinds of different areas. So what would you recommend though, for small, you know, or are themselves not tech savvy or don't have time to do it. What are the best practices? Hire someone across different departments. You know, how do you figure out what's best for your type of business? Yeah, yeah, we're going to get to that. It's a great question. So I think we're okay on the. I think I. I'm gonna pause on the demos. I'll be here. So we can, you know, we can go through more demos if you want. There's definitely a couple other cool things to show, so. But I think the questions are now going to. Okay, George, fine. I had an aha moment and I'll help you understand, what do I do with this? How do I take it back? So, company and how we feeling? I know that was a lot. I couldn't hear that. Excited. Excited. Okay, you're excited. Like, some people are a little down. Like, is it just too much, too many demos, Overwhelming in a bad way?
Oh, my God.
Good. So basically, yes, exactly. Right? So I will never unsee what I just saw. Right. Hopefully this will serve as one of those moments where you will look back on this, maybe not forever, but certainly in the next few years. Like, oh, I remember that day we had that white hero workshop. That guy George came down and showed us like, all this stuff and I went back and I committed to this and it really changed our whole business. So that, that's really what I'm looking for for you guys. So let's talk about how to get started with AI. Right, so first of all, it's going to take some, you know, some new mindsets, right? You want to be open minded, you want to be curious, you want to try stuff out, you want to be resilient and you want to be empathetic, especially for the fact that for some of your employees that they're in a. You guys are feeling half anxiety, half excited, right? Like dollar sign is in your eyes a little bit. But your employees are going to be feeling like, really anxious, especially once you come back and make this a quarterly priority for Q4 or for an annual theme for 2024. They're going to be Feeling anxious. So really just helping them along, showing them that it's really about arming each of them with their own tool belt superpowers is going to be helpful. And I think some of the key mistakes that people make to avoid is just taking a long term perspective on this, realizing there's gonna be tools. You might try writesonic or you might end up liking a different app. There's not like just a one and done. So you're gonna have different tools for different use cases. You gotta align expectations and just manage that change management. Cause it's gonna be big. Putting this through the organization and phases. There's, there's a lot of sites that you could, if you want to stay up about AI and how to like what's coming out, I could share this afterwards. I don't want to spend time going through it. But the bottom line is you have to identify your use case and then you have to just go download the tools and start testing it. Then the best way to do that, I'll get to that in a little bit. But some of the questions you guys asked, let's address these head on the risks and how do we mitigate. There's three main things, right? Quality, bias and then ip. So let's talk about quality. So a lot of quality is about pumping garbage in, garbage out. So you want to make sure that you're following. So I'm a big Tony Robbins guy. Any other Tony Robbins fans? All right, so one of the things he says is the quality of your life is determined by the quality of questions you ask. And so that's true both in your life and your personal development as well as an AI content. So you want to, you want to take things and you want to simplify complex concept concepts. You want to tell it to assume an identity. So you could tell it. Like I want you to pretend like you're Elon Musk and make this and tell me what you would do. Or I want you to be, you know, I want you to pretend like you have a boardroom of the top product managers in the world and tell me what their different perspectives would be. You want us to justify its response. Right. So if you're wondering if it's hallucinating, ask it what evidence supports your answer. And then, you know, don't just do a lot of what I have to do for the demo. It's what, like single prompts? Give it multiple prompts. Right. The time I rebid with another one, the first time I got it wrong and then I clarified that the Event's already taken place and I did it again. I could have clarified it a few more times maybe. I felt like it was too formal. Make it a little more friendly. Clarify it a few times just like you would with an employee. Go through multiple revisions in a single chat to get it to what you want it to be. There's going to be bias. Some of the biggest tools that have bad instances and that press on the bias. So you have to just be aware of that. And I'm not going to go into those details. And then the last thing is IP or security. So you know, if you're Coca Cola and you take your recipe, right, the Coke recipe, and you submit it right, it's going to become part of their model. So you shouldn't do that. So you should know what your submitting and what you're not. So there has to be some IT governance, there has to be some protocols in place that you guys start thinking about, about that. So for example, you know Microsoft's trying to solve for that, right, with big chat enterprise. I'm sure you guys can talk to Sean about something like that. They have a product that is geared for the concerns of an enterprise. It's not going to give you all the capabilities and all the tools, the tools I showed you, but at least it's going to get you started. Microsoft obviously is OpenAI's biggest investor. They just put 10 million in a few months ago. So the eventual path is that those two are going to be. They're already very tightly red, so you can see that where that's going. So I think that's one safe way to go for all the Microsoft shops here. And then you just have to look and understand and reading the data AI policy on the tools that you're using. You're going to need a chief AI officer role. This could be your IT manager or your cio. It could be someone new. There's got to be at some point a C suite that's thinking about the opportunities and risks and then the copyright issues. Again, I'm not a lawyer, I don't want to go into too much detail, but it is yours if you generated it with enough work or you change something enough. Now what's enough? I'll let the lawyers decide. Really early in this. It's interesting, we'll see what cases come down. But like in the cases of everything I showed you, you know, is that not mine? Did I not generate that? If not me, then who owns it? But I take a great song and I put my voice on it and I change a few words. Is that mine? Did I change it enough? Did I not change it enough? So these are some of the issues that we're going to be facing. So again, I think those are all good questions asking about that. But I want to recap and just say that there's incredible innovation taking place, there's exciting new capabilities, there's a big opportunity for you guys to really improve your bottom line. And I think the opportunities are both in how you use it as a company as well as you could probably spend like five minutes on the investment part that you guys wanted me to touch on and then open it up for questions. Do we have a hard stop at 11 heather or we have to take people over a little bit.
Some people believe it alert if they want comments until 11:30.
So I'll go like maybe 10 minutes over just so we can finish this and do some more Q and A. Okay, so from there let's go into some of you might be looking at saying like, hey, I've already sold my company or what's going on in the VC space? How do we invest in it? So let's switch gears a little bit. Take a look at the venture side of things. On the left, we could see that VCS believe that AI is going to take over lion's share of growth. Valuations are the highest in AI. The team of line. This is everything else you have most, not most, but 20% of all global venture funding so far this year has gone into AI, the largest chunk by far and the most unicorns that have been minted have been minted in AI. It's clearly the hottest field we see, right? It's not just the most important thing that's happening outside of VC in terms of like adoption, user adoption, company adoption, also clearly in venture as well. All the biggest VC firms, all the household names are getting in on at big time. And the way to think about it is if you're interested from an investor standpoint, there's four levels of this, right? There's an application layer which is a lot of what I've been showing you guys, the apps. And then you have infrastructure which is between computing and then you have the actual models themselves and then the compute, which is the hardware. So so in short, you know, the models is where there's a lot of value. As I said earlier, applications, the defensibilities is in question. And then you know, the compute level, there's big needs as we're out of compute on the last one. What about the ingredients that go into. Yeah, exactly. In each of those you can go into the details of what's important like the data that goes into the models and the algorithms and all that. So let's acknowledge that there is a gold rush. It's easy. There's a lot of, there's a lot of good innovation and definitely some froth on top of that happening. But the fundamentals are the same. You know, if you're going to make investments, look for those AI startup that are solving real problems in big markets, that are creating 10x or 100x better experiences. Look at the talent and then really look at the defensibility. You know, you might have an AI calendar that shows you what they've built, but you know, really think about the defensibility and if they just put something that's a wrapper on top of ChatGPT, that's going to be easy for copy. So there's some examples of companies that are doing a good job of this. I picked a few from our portfolio because it's just easier for me to talk about. I'm more familiar with them. Mary Lou Jepsen Open Water so they're using AI in a wearable device that uses light and sound to figure out where there's batting around cells and cancer and things that create depression. So light finds the bad cell and then the sound, kind of like an opera singer singing at a certain note can break the wine glass but nothing else. You know, in the opera house they're using sound in that way to like break that cell and flush it out, break that neuron and flush it out of the body. Really crazy stuff. Obviously I'm switching gears here because what we were talking about was generative AI aspect. Now I'm showing some of the other use cases that are helping uplift humanity. The Marion Labs, they're doing it on a, on a compute level. If all goes well, they'll be the next Nvidia. So they're building AI chips. Science IO has an LL called Kepler which is painted on 2 billion medical records. They have some of the biggest healthcare facilities in the US using it. So I'm showing this to show that it's not just what I showed you. Right. What's happening in AI is not just the generative AI tools for companies that I showed you. Succeed Smart they're disrupting executive recruiting. I know that's probably been a challenge for all of us. Executive search Market so they built a unique two sided platform that connects hiring managers and executives via AI that crawls the Web it kind of does like almost like a tender mic matching. They actually have to vote swipe in the same way to be matched and then cameo. So cameos helping people with low credit be able to fix. They were all in one credit financial recovery platform that enables members to improve their credit score. So this is what I'll ask them month. So what you're going to watch now is the AI has power of attorney and is going to call the debt collector on this person, Jay's behalf. Okay, the lawyer going to pick out that one. All right, so. So he's basically the AI knows and has Jay's account involved, knows what he owes. We're going to call, navigate the phone system, talk to the collector and then avoid the collector trying to trap him into what the collector is going to do and be able to navigate that call. And again this is not pre scripted. This is, this is generatively. He's managing it in a conversation. ABC Collection Agency. Hi, I'm Jake Allen. I have a vet with your agencies that I would like to pay off. Could you please assist me with that? Yeah, I can help you with that. Do you have your account number? Yes, it's 870-687-882. Excellent. And your name? Yes, my name is Jay Patel. Excellent. J let me pull that up for you here. I logged after the phone Jake and I just. I need to do some confirmation and I get your curved address. Sure. My address is 30 Stafford Road, Colonial New Jersey. Okay, got your account. Looks like it's $78 to pay off. Before I make the payment. I would like to receive email confirmation that the item will be removed from my credit report once the payment is done. Can you please provide me with that confirmation? Yeah, you can definitely confirm that once it was that we will remove from your credit report. Would you like to like inform a confirmation that once we receive payment that will remove it? I should send that via email? Sure. What information do you need for me? Give me a good email address that I can send that to you. My email address is jp2del2m.com yeah, so I can go ahead and I can put that, put that up there for me right now. So you want to go ahead and make payment now? Try to get payment without. No, I would like to review the email confirmation first and then call back to make the payment. Can you please send the email confirmation now? Yep, it'll be to you in a few minutes here. If you'd like we can put a payment out ahead of time so then the process. All right, I Will review the email and call back to make the payment once I receive it. All right, thank you very much. Thank you. Have a good day. Wow. So is that where this is going? Yeah. Are we going to have AIs that talk to AIs? Probably at that point. Does it need to be a phone call? Could it just be a negotiated transaction? Digitally, probably, but it's going to be really interesting. Interesting. Hopefully you guys enjoyed that. Really excited about what. What they're doing. So, takeaways, as we go into Q A again, I want you to think about, what's that one AI tool that really stood out? What are you going to go back and tell your company? Not tomorrow, because this was just a morning meeting. You're going to go back at lunch or after lunch, and what are you going to tell them? Right? Like, what's your stand on this gonna be? And, you know, Heather's question to you guys was like, what does success look like 90 days from now? And if you remember this slide, I said in the beginning that my goal for you is three things. I want you guys to walk out of here. You took the red pill. I want you to walk out here making some kind of a commitment to AI, whatever that is, whatever is right for you. Just like you did when you got your iPhone and you set up the apps one day. You didn't delegate that to your. You. You played with the app. So personally, make a commitment. Spend some time on it. Spend an afternoon. Have it open every day. Have chat GPT open every day. Just try it. One good tip is every task you have to do, like, first, first try to have AI do it before you do it. Then. Oh, write the proposal for ABC Corp. Okay, let me try ChatGPT. Try now. See how where it gets you. Next task, call Julie to negotiate $2,000 discount. Maybe give it some background. See if it gives you a tip. Just keep trying here, right? Build your AI team. This was one of my favorite shows growing up, and I love the A team. I love Hannibal because he was always like the mastermind, right? And he would come in pm and so you got to build your AI team. So to your question earlier, it's going to be both internal and external. You don't have to go out and hire a chief AI officer right away, but you should make somebody your head of AI right away. Doesn't have to be your head of it. It could be the intern you just hired, right? You just kind of say, hey, guys, who's really passionate about AI? Who's willing to go out and try a bunch of tools for us and who's willing to take the lead, be the AI lead internally and have them do that. And you want to complement your internal team with your external team. Our intent was not to help out with that, but we've been asked about that. So we have an AI launchpad. If you want some help with that, we can talk about that afterwards. My main job is a vc. It's really the third bucket of people. When I do this presentation people say Jordan, that was awesome. Can you convince me, help us out with that. We've built like a little three week offering that can come in and help with that. So if anyone's interested just talking about that later. But we're not, we're not going to be the technical implementers. You're still going to need technical implementers. So your internal and your external team figure out who that is and figure out where you want to play with the gold rush and AI. Do you want to angel invest, do you want to source your own deals, do you want investment of fund and all that good stuff. So with that I want to thank you guys again for having me and I want to open it up to so I the best like Google as a business or Microsoft or some other provider, wherever data, our whole line of data somewhere something happens in between to sort of pull the necessary data, create whatever you bring. I call broker. Talk more about that because I, I have a feeling people are going that terrifies me to think that one of my employees or myself or whatever can get into my data, want to bullet to create the best book or presentation. So you know the tool, what does that look like? Not so much just security, but what is like the brokerage between how is that happening? Right. So if I understand the correction question correctly. So basically, you know, usually with generative AI, we're going out to IT and we're giving it the data to give us an alpha, we're giving it a prompt to get something back. So again it's not necessarily going into our data, but as we give it more and more information about ourselves then that becomes a concern around. And I think that while it's a little bit of the wild wild west and some people are saying it's too risky, we're going to sit it out, we want to wait. And other people are saying we're just going to go in understanding what the risks are, but we cannot take advantage of what's available. I think there's people that are absolutely working on the enterprise solution, the super safe Lockdown solution that's going to have like groups and users and permissions. And Microsoft's doing good with that, with their kind of initial offering. I'm sure Google will come out with their own version of that. So expect that in the next six to 12 months. But at least you're monitoring it. You could have a testing phase that's happening. You can get some benefits out of it. But know that again, you happen to put your Coca Cola s in there. Yes. So where does that sort of thing. Right. Yeah. So manufacturing. I think most of the tools I showed would still work, right? Because I showed the marketing tools, the social media tools and all that for the marketing that you might do, but specifically for the integration. Yeah. So Xavier is going to be your. Yeah, so you already have Zapier. So now it'll connect Chat GPT to all of those systems to do interesting things about them. So you say, okay, what can I do with that? One of the examples is it can connect with the CRM so that it can pull information about the leads that you don't already have there. So for example, Chat GPT can go search the leads in there, social media media post and provide a summary of who this person is and all that. So the next time the sales rep calls, it sees this new information that ChatGPT put in about providing some insight that hey, you know, this person just posted about this or here's where they went to school or whatever the case might be. There's other apps that have been doing that similar thing, but I think again, this is where it's new and you're going to find this different use cases, I don't know exactly for like ordering and coding, but is there a better way to present the Data? Might ask ChatGPT, like here's how we display it. Like pretend you're a customer that buys industrial plastics. And what would be a better way to display this data? Show me a few charts that show this data. Things like that. You just kind of have to assume everything as possible and just ask it.
If you wanted to do a presentation and commit to AI for Q4 with our, with our companies and our teams.
Who would be that informant?
Would that be you? Or do you have other people that can come into the company and kind of do a similar presentation for our employees? I would not want.
Yeah, we could talk about that. Generally I would do it. So it'd be similar to this, but we would customize it so we have like the launch pad, which is a three week do discovery, figure out what Your pain points are go research tools, present it to you in a roadmap and like help you give you some handholding on it. That's that. The other, which I think I heard you say is more like just like touch of like the half a day workshop. Let me just get a bunch of people in our conference room and on Zoom and you basically just show us what you showed, more or less and, and just give my company a link session so then after you leave, we can talk about it and have a mutual shared understanding about what's possible and what we want to do with it.
Awesome, thanks.
Super basic question. Say you have a company that's got a bunch of sub companies. You want to do financial analysis using your company merely by uploading that data, are you putting the data out there? So when I say putting the data out there, it's not for the public web, it's on certain sites. You're adding that to their model. So for example ChatGPT, they're, they're adding that to their model, their understanding of how LLM, a large language model works, they're not. It's not necessarily being public, but it's adding to its intelligence, it's adding to its brain. So does that make sense? So then could you put your own data and financials? Yes. And then you could delete it, but that's where you want to be careful. Again, I don't want to go into areas where I'm not an expert. And it's changing very fast. People are changing their policy one way or the other. So again, my caution is just go ahead and make sure that you're looking into that. And then there's tools that are specific. Look, I didn't get to any finance tools, but there's tools like rose.com for example. Rose.com will let you do what you're saying. And I would assume that they're not adding it to their model, otherwise nobody would upload their financial statement data to it. So the more specific the tool is, the more likelihood, especially if you're on a paid subscription, then it's unlikely that they're adding it to their model. If you're a free plan, you're kind of, that's the barter. Right? You're saying I'm going to give you my data back, your model in return, you're going to give me the value being able to have a superpower that in houses work. Yeah, absolutely. You can't undo it. Right. That means that it's been sitting on an AWS server that's backing that company's model and processing so you can't undo it. I mean it's put in a similar regard company uses Microsoft 365. I mean that's all sitting on someone else's server, you know and we all trust that essentially in AWS as well. So that's where the broker is going to come in for all these providers. They're going to have to have security protocols around that. So you start copilot model for the most part these are for profit companies that have their best interest and vector data so that you want to continue. Yeah but so I feel like we're over generalizing data. Right. So she wants to do a marketing campaign, a seven step sequence and what would take a team 20 hours now we could do it in a matter of an hour. Right. We're not worried about that. We're not worried about anybody taking our second step. No sequence the other one around like generating an image that's not being added to library. We about that. Right. So that's why I was saying on one extreme there's stuff that you don't care about and on the other extreme is the, you know, the Coca Cola recipe. So don't give it the Coca Cola recipe until you know exactly which system you're on and what the data policy is. So but aside from that, you know, you could, you know, you could use discretion and kind of again it depends on the tool and then figure that out. Can I just throw out briefly. Yeah, like Microsoft's not the same as any of these. Pay them directly to your studio. And this stuff is generic. It'll generate if it's generating more wisdom than you're doing because they aren't set up for, you know, knowing what to encrypt and store encrypted and, and then on top of that the other part what you're seeing here is AI can go out and find the needles in. So you be a hacker that knows how to get around and look at an exposed like AWS instance which is the default configuration by the way when it spawns a new S3 bucket and AI you're crawl that and say look for stuff that looks like financials, hijack that and then set up a bitcoin ransom campaign that three companies. So don't put, don't send documents that you wouldn't send someone that grasp policy that we offer. There's so much you can get out of it without going into that level. Yeah, exactly. I mean I think there are valid concerns. It's not my area of expertise. My job here today was to show you what's possible so that you could go out and decide how you want to leverage it. And again my only advice is iron things look at what the data policy is. They usually state it. They're not trying to hide it because it's an AI model. So usually you can just click like not privacy policy the data policy. You can just read it and it says in plain English we added to our model. We don't have it for our model. The free plan doesn't add to the model. The paid plan does the other way around. So don't be scared about that fast go in. Be careful how be scared and don't tell me the reason why you walk out of here don't because I saw the doc the social dilemma. I don't know but it's crazy. I mean you are the thing that they're selling. You know you're selling so nothing is just know that and understand how you approach of you that data out of this to be very careful what you're putting also I'm not 100% sure. I think now that I've said it 100 times I think that maybe the chat GPT plan may not be adding it to its database know that accidentally got out and taken off people are building on top of it. I mean my earlier thing like you said the ingredients are probably more important element AI technology as far as use case and so talks about what's specifically about where do you think that sits in terms of you know, is there something you should check out or is an organization take that on? Yeah, I mean you know. So Zuck got a lot of criticism for being too deep in the in the VR world by obviously and he thought that was it. He thought that was Facebook's future and renamed it the meta from Metaverse and really thought that that was it. And he was wrong. And now he's late to the AI game But they're working very fast. Basically they have an example of like one of the most massive pivots that we'll ever see of a company that was social media trying to become a Metaverse company realizing that scale now trying to catch up to AI figuring out replacing AI and with Llama and they have a pretty substantial data set of everybody everybody's posts through Instagram and Facebook and WhatsApp. You know also what's up but everybody's post their likes you know all that. So they're going to just like Google. Google has all that data from from ads and the search engine, they had a big competitive advantage and Facebook has that too for their AI. And both of these companies have been using AI in their businesses for a long time. Again, I've been talking more about generative AI versus machine learning and deep networks, which has been around for a while. So. Yeah, so, so I, I didn't mention them in my presentation. It was not for any specific reason other than I already had a lot. And we'll see what happens with all of them. But that's another thing that you should keep your eye out for. It's double L L A M A meta.
I've heard that if you have something that is ChatGPT creative, that Google kind.
Of forces it down.
If you publish that, that the algorithm recognizes it as ChatGPT and puts it down, the search is that rumor.
So I think we're going to see that happen. Yeah, I think Google's going to give higher value. So there's already tools that are trying to predict like what's, you know, what's AI generated versus human and. Right. So we can see where this is going. And already I'm at the point where, you know, when I get back, some ChatGPT generated marketing copy, I don't like it. It's obvious that ChatGPT generated that. So, like, you know, so now we do that and then we apply blue to where we'll actually write it, but we use that to help us get ideas and then we trash it. We write our own version. Getting a lot of good inspiration from it, but not wanting it to sound like, you know, very AI.
Marketing and social media agency. And the way that we're talking to our team members about it is we just use this as a model, like your outline and your idea platform. But you can't just do it and send it out. You literally, you've gotta like, read it, edit it, draft everything. Just otherwise it loses that like, human element and it feels very.
Exactly. Yeah, exactly. So. So you definitely wanna, like I said, if you just think about it, getting you 20 to 80% of the way there, as I said, not 100%, you're always going to want to have somebody looking at it. It's a tool that helps you. If you have a lot of people doing the same thing, it's going to help replace the need for all the people doing the same thing. But in terms of like, if you have one copywriter, it's not going to eliminate that copywriter, it's going to make that copywriter a lot more productive. They're going to be able to. They're probably going to reduce their hours part time. They're just going to be able to get more out the same amount of time. That should be your expectation across the board on stuff like this. About the security. There's a form that you can opt out from sharing information that you send it to the WhatsApp group. Perfect. So it's a form that you submit to OpenAI? Yeah. Oh, great. And then something. Okay, great. Thank you. That was the most asked question. So I put that in the presentation. Any other questions?
All right, I think we're done then. Thank you guys so much for so. I hope you all learned something today. I definitely thank you so much for coming. We are going to send out an AI generated survey, post the event, and we're going to be asking you if you want to participate in a virtual follow up meeting with George in 90 days. So one of the things that he talked about at the end of his presentation was what do we do from here? We gave you a ton of information, some shock value. That's what we were looking for. We're trying to open your mind. What's available now, as George mentioned, you go back, you go home, you go into the organization, you identify who are technically curious people. What are we going to assign to them? How can what we learned today help us increase our profitability and productivity? So we'll give you an opportunity to meet back with George virtually in 90 days. Just encourage you to set up some takeaways and take a look at where this can really help you harness your own power and tools and creativity, both personally and professionally. Thank you for coming.
