So welcome to day number five with attitude booster number five, which is have a mentor and copy them. And we're just going to again restate our objectives. My name is Glenn Bill, the founder of the University of Attitude, the host of the Get Attitude podcast. We are on every single podcast platform There is, including iHeartRadio, which just picked us up. We're here to talk about. Hi, Beth McKinley. Good to see you. We're here to talk about have a mentor and copy them. The quickest and fastest way to success in your business. The quickest and fastest way to success in life is to work with these people called mentors, right? There are people in your life that are crushing it. They are. You sit there and you look at them and you go, oh my God, they're killing it in business, they're killing it in life, they're killing it financially, they're killing it with diet and exercise. And people ask me all the time, what's the fastest way to success? And attitude booster number five is very simple. Find the people that are doing it right. If you cannot see where you're going, ask someone who has been there before. So whatever you're looking for in your life, in whatever part of your life, whether it's health, finance, spirit, energy, there are people that are doing it better than you. And those are people that need to be reached out to. You know, I don't know if you're working more or if you're working less. Hey, Dan, thanks for yesterday. You did a wonderful thing. I don't know if you're working for more, working less, but certainly one thing I hope that you're doing if you are sitting your home a lot is reaching out and identifying people who you don't yet know, who you have not yet connected with, and figuring out a way to connect with them to leverage their knowledge. You know, learned leverage is one of the most powerful levers there there is in life. And I've been very fortunate. You know, I have a lot of mentors in my life and I can tell you I've probably spent over $100,000 of my hard earned money paying for mentorship. That comes from Tony Robbins, right? Who helped me with number six, control your emotion, attitude booster, the great Jeffrey Gitter. And guys, just so you know, Jeffrey Gittermer, the one and only Jeffrey Gittamer, who is just crushing it, the author of eight or nine best selling New York Times bestselling books, is going to be in the house at the University of Attitude next Monday talking about control your emotions. So one of the far biggest, most huge influencers in the sales game, he wrote the Little Red Book of Sailing, is actually going to be here talking about controlling your emotions on Monday at 3 o'. Clock. So Jeffrey, well, let's start with Tony Robbins, right? Tony, being one of my top mentors taught me the ability to control my emotions and emotional awareness, right? Understanding why people do what they do, why they make the decisions they make. If you pick up the Get Attitude book, you're going to find out some of those reasons because I address it in the book. I also am going to put this link down here if you are wanting to improve your attitude. And if you want to download my book, which I'm putting in right now, abcsofattitude.com you can actually click on that link and download the Get Attitude Playbook. The Get Attitude Playbook is in essence is a journal that will help you identify your attitude, that will help you understand why you think the way you think, why you feel the way you feel and why you do the things you do. And when we talk about have a mentor and copy them. Number five, what I want you to think about the exercise that I'm going to ask you to do today. Who are the mentors in my life? Right. Who am I listening to? Who am I letting influence? Me? And there's always three questions we want to ask ourselves about our mentors. Number one, who are they and what are they doing to me? Right. What are my mentors doing to me? What do they have me reading? What do they have me writing? What do they have me saying? What music do they have me listening to? How do they have me talking? How do they have me listening? What you're going to find is you may have some influencers in your life that are maybe not the influencers or mentors that you want. So today, for your attitude exercise, for your attitude reflection, what I want you to really figure out is who in my life is influencing me? And the next question is, is that okay? Right? Is it okay what they have me doing, what they have me reading, what they have me writing? When we look at the power of our Mentors and the power of influences in our life, we have to filter them through three different filters. How can we change that influence? And we have these three levels. One is certainly called disassociation. So the bottom line is, are there people in your lives that you need to disassociate from? Are there people in your lives that every time you talk to them, every time that you pick up their phone or that you pick up your phone and you're talking to them, they don't make you feel better? You know, back when I was running our real estate company, we had one simple rule. Every customer that walked into our shop would feel better leaving than they did coming in. So the question is, do people feel better after they talk with you, or do you make them feel worse after they talk to you? If that is the case, I'm going to suggest to you that there's some disassociation that you may need to take on in your life that comes through identification. There are people that maybe they're family and you don't want to disassociate from them, but you certainly want to have limited association. In other words, do you really need to be talking to some of the influences and some of the mentors in your life every single day? Maybe it's good that we pepper those connections to a week. Maybe it's a month, maybe it's a quarter. But who you hang around matters. We certainly know this, that the average income of the five people you hang around most will reflect the average income you have when you look at money. But I'm going to also tell you this. It probably, to be very honest with you, is the same way about attitude. The the five people you hang around most will probably collectively give you the five or the average of their attitude. I always love to say this is your attitude on a 1 or on a 10. And look at the five people you spend your most time with. And when you think about their attitude, what is that average with? And chances are it's going to reflect exactly what your attitude would be. So, you know, today is an introspective day, but it's really a day about who's affecting my attitude. And do I need to disassociate? Do I need to create limited association? And then what this is all about, who do I need to hang around? Who do I need to seek out? I don't want you to stalk people, I don't want you to make them feel uncomfortable, and I don't want you to come with them with some lame hey, will you be my mentor? If you truly want to be mentored, the way that it will never happen is to say, hey, will you be my mentor? If you're desirous of creating a mentor relationship, you have to give value to the person that you wish to receive information, insight and mentorship from. So what's the definition of value? Most people don't know the definition, but the definition is very simply this. It's what you do for somebody, right? In favor of somebody, before you ask them either for the sale or you ask them for the favor, what are you doing for the other person that you're wanting to mentor? And when we talk about the community, what am I doing for the community? What value am I putting in? How am I making their life easier? And what problem am I solving for them? So as you're looking for mentors, what you want to try to do is study them, you want to research them, you want to google them, and you want to try to identify, figure out, follow them on social, on how can I help them solve a problem. If you do that, I promise you, you are going to find a way to engage that mentor and improve your life again. Why is attitude booster number five so important to have a mentor copy them? Because look at if you're looking for rapid change, if you're looking for rapid improvement, if you're looking to change your life, increase your influence and increase your attraction to other people, you have to learn from others. E.B. cotton. Welcome. A.m. cAP Home Loans guys. If you need to refinance a home, I want you to call eb. EB is here every day. If you want to work with a loan originator that has an incredible attitude, that studies attitude, that gets other people, but most importantly is going to get you the best rate on your new home and lower your payment and help you to financial freedom, Eve Cotton is a guy that you're going to want to do, especially all you realtors that watch. So here's the deal. We're down to about another minute or two in closing, right? We are here for one reason. There's a lot going on in the world. We are like kind people. I believe that there's two people that sit in the seat. You sit right now. There's the person you are and the person that you dream to be. And my hope is, is that I help you become the person you dream to be. And I can tell you this, I one of the quickest, fastest ways to become the person you wish to be or that, you know, the person that you need to become is to find a mentor and copy him or her. I want to make sure that there's two types of mentors I want to talk to you about really quick. Number one is a vision mentor. There are mentors that will help you set the vision. Oftentimes I say that you know who set your vision. If you're not living your vision, chances are you're living someone else's. So one of your attitude exercises that I want you to do today is to say, what really is the vision for my life and who set that vision and who defined that vision? You know, what I find when I work with people is so many people are still living the vision of their parents and their grandparents, and they haven't even set their own vision. I can also tell you that especially in today's world, parents are living the vision of their children. They actually let their teenagers set their vision, and they react to what their kids say. The bottom line is this. You need to disconnect, and you need to set your vision. We talked about setting goals. We talked about have a big goal and day number two and writing down 100 things you want from your life. Now that's setting your vision. And I love this quote, when the why becomes strongest. When you're writing down that bucket list, the bottom line is, why do you want to do what you want to do? Don't ask how. Because when the why becomes strongest, the how becomes easy. So have a mentor copy them. I think you need to have a vision mentor. Somebody that helps you understand the vision for your life. There's all kinds of Google stuff out there. And then I think you need to have an implementation mentor. There are people that understand the implementation of life, the daily exercises that it takes. And I'm going to tell you this, coming here to the University of Attitude each and every weekday to get 13 minutes of getting out of the world, getting out of the world and changing your world. That's called implementation. And I hope I continue to be a daily implementation inspiration for you. I hope that these 13 minutes have helped you sit down and think, who's leading my life? Am I leading my life? Who are the influences in my life and what are they doing to me? Right? And most of all, I want to always finish our time together. This attitude workout and this attitude exercise, you got your exercises. I hope you are doing them by understanding simply this. You cannot win in life until you win in your mind. And that is what the University of Attitude is here to do. I want to thank you for signing in. And I hope that you'll take a little bit of time, digest the questions, and enjoy the new vision for your life and enjoy the new relationships.
