Yeah. So you know, the boosters of love, adversity and control. Your emotions were in place since 9 o' clock this morning. You know what?
I think the adversity scale in this country right now is at peak level. Everybody's a whiner and I want to just be a winner.
That's obvious.
Yeah, but you can't be a winner if you're a whiner. You have two choices. Wine. In fact, Glenn, let me share with you. Hold on. Write this down while I got it in my head. Winter Whiner. I'm launching a course this coming week about the recovery. Ah. Because people are sitting home, literally, with their thumbs up their butts.
It's crazy.
And drinking beer and binging on Netflix. I'm sorry. For the women drinking wine and binging on Netflix.
Right.
And the challenge is the hell with that. Just start doing something for you. So that as we emerge from this, which we're gonna, you're either gonna be a leader or a lagger.
Right.
You know, hey, hey, the pandemic's over. Now what do we do? No, no, dude, you better know what to do right now. You better start emerging right now. Which is what we're doing.
Well, as a student of personal development and all the gurus out there, and I think I texted this to you the other night. I've never been busier, I've never been more in demand. And I've never forced myself to learn how to communicate in different ways. And you know what? It's not easy.
No.
But I'm not whining. And I said, you know what? Screw it, get around. Are gonna do something at three. I would have loved to be online on Facebook, but it's not gonna happen. But we'll upload this and have fun. And I can tell you that all of the people, from the Darren Hardy's to the Dean Graziosis to the Tony Robbins to all these people, I don't see anybody. And I'm on their feed. Jack Canfield, all of them. None of them are doing live. You are doing live. You have separated yourself. Like it's crazy what you're Doing. And so I always say that emotion is what fuels the attitude. Our focus today. Just so you know, every. Why do I do this? Number one, my mentor, Jeffreys. You know, 10:00am I'm on there. I try to do everything you are. But three o', clock, we do University of Attitude. I do what's called the Attitude Workout, and I give people an opportunity for 13 minutes to have a workout of their attitude. And I give them exercises to do that they. That they can do to tune in for the next one. So although we're not live, that's what we're here to do today. It's a 13.
I give them an exercise. Pardon me, Can I give an exercise? Well, of course.
That's why you're here.
Go into your kid's bedroom or your grandkids and get their copy of the Little Engine that Could. Yes, and read it out loud to yourself.
Awesome, right?
I think I can. I think I can. I think I can. I thought I could right now, if you can just put that into your head, boy, are you gonna win. And if you don't, you're gonna be. You're gonna be wallowing with a bunch of fucking chickens. Pardon my French.
How many webinars have you done today? How many? I mean, I'm guessing you've done.
This is only. This is only the fourth live call that I've been on today.
Okay, cool, cool.
But I have. I. Hang on a second. I. I have closed three deals today, and I was on a live Zoom call with my banker because I forced him to go to Zoom.
Now, do you have any tenants. Do you have people that pay you rent?
Yeah, Glenn, I pay myself rent. We lease our units back to ourselves. We can. I know this. I know a lot of apartment house owners are hurting right now because their tenants can't pay.
I haven't gotten. I've gotten one. One of my tenants is stuck in Peru for 15 days, but his parents are paying his rent, thank God. So we're good. So, Jeffrey, thank you so much for jumping on this. Let's just hit the highlights, right? Control your emotions. As you said, people are pent up. They're not doing anything. They're not thinking about anything new. They're not trying anything new. Thus they're focusing on how miserable they are in their current state. What advice do you have for our people at the University of Attitude who are going to be listening into this call about controlling your emotions or how to leverage your emotions in some way? We know that. First exercise, read the Little Engine that Could. Right. But.
Let me share it in a way that I think you'll understand. Everyone now is pretty much at home. Are you home?
I'm not at home. I have an office down the street. So I'm here every day working. So I'm.
So my office is down the hall, but still, I'm home.
I've been there. Sure.
And most people are home. So if you're selling. If you're selling home improvements, you don't have to worry about. Mr. And Mrs. Jones are there. They're there. But what happens is, in these times, you have this familiarity with your partner, and you're not used to being there all the time or with your kids all the time. And it's so easy for you to fly off the handle, that your first issue of being in this situation is patience and understanding and positive, gentle response. You can't fly off the handle right now or everyone's going to lose. And believe me when I tell you it's so damn easy to do that. Right. Because you already know everyone's vulnerabilities and you can pick on them in two seconds.
Right? Sure. And I think it's happening to a lot of people.
Well, it's causing you to lose your hair, obviously, but which is another thing. You have to lead with humor or your toast.
Right.
So it's what's funny. What can you make me smile about or laugh about? And how gentle can I be with the people that I love the most?
I think that's wonderful and probably enough information for anybody to chew on. But since we still have five minutes left, I'm going to give you.
I'm going to give you something else.
Please.
Here's the deal. Daniel Burris, a good friend of mine, but also a freaking genius, said, when there's uncertainty, document the things you're certain of.
Good. That's an exercise.
It's a total exercise. And here's the deal. There are five areas of certainty. Yourself, your family, your friends, and your circle of influence. Your business and your customers. Maybe some of your prospects, but certainly your customers. Starting with yourself. First, you document what you're certain of with all the things in your life. Then you can go to your family, your circle of influence, your friends, your business and your customers. But don't you dare try to go out there into the world until you're certain of yourself. And that's why attitude plays this major role right now in anything that any of us do. What you do, what I do, what the world does.
Fantastic.
I'm limiting myself to Five minutes of news at noon and five minutes of news at the end of the workday, not the end of my day day.
Right.
And the rabbit hole that I'm going down right now is music. Because when you're old like me, you. You want to play something that reminds you of better, different, more fun, less responsible days. Let's just put it that way. Yeah.
Well, like we do when we speak, we try to put everybody in a childlike state when we set the tone exactly.
And the easiest thing to do is pick a song you remember.
Right, Exactly.
I'm going to give you one that I went down the rabbit hole this morning with a buddy of mine was talking about, you know, what used to happen when we were younger. And there's a Bob Dylan song called My Back Pages, which is, I was so much younger than. I'm younger than that now.
Right.
And that's the lyric of that. Not only is it brilliant, it's accurate.
Sure.
The classic Woody Allen line is, you're only young once, but you can always be immature. And that. That's a sticking board. So I go online and I look up the song and. And I come across a live concert on the 30th anniversary of Bob Dylan's musical Whatever. George Harrison is on there, Tom Petty is on there. People that you. Neil Young is on there. People you wouldn't believe are singing My Back Pages.
Right.
And it is. It's tearful. It's so good, because some of the people are no longer alive that were doing that.
Did you watch that live music that Fox put on last night?
I did not, but I will. I couldn't take the time away to do it, but I certainly wanted to see Elton John perform the.
Do you watch American Idol?
I've watched it in its early years, but not.
But not recently.
No.
How is your lovely daughter Gabrielle handling all this?
She is on fire. They have zoom classes from her school, obviously.
Right.
And I said, gabs, how was the morning meeting? She goes, pretty boring. Okay. Because the school doesn't know how to do it.
Right.
The kids. The kids are texting each other how boring it is.
Right. That's crazy.
No, I'm telling you, they're so technologically advanced right now that it's a little bit frightening.
Right.
They totally have an understanding of which end is up and they know how to do it.
Jeffrey. We're getting a lot of feedback from our lists and from our followers about this thing called self loathing and self hatred.
Yeah.
There are people that are going down the rabbit hole I believe of depression and I think I know the answer. But I'd like you to give them a message. There are people that are down, they're depressed and every day they continue to not learn and do more, they become more depressed and more down. And so what's the thought on how to get out of that spiral of self hatred?
So let me throw a couple things at you. First of all, get a glass of ice water, dip your hand in it and smack yourself in the face and wake up. That would be a good start. And maybe you don't want to do it with your hand wet, just get a wash rag. But whatever you do, put yourself in a position where you wake the hell up and realize that the only difference between how you feel about things is here out there, any kind of change, you being depressed or you being happy is not going to change that shit. So I have always recommended if you can't affect it, then just stay away from it. Only deal with the things that you can affect in a positive way. And this is no time to be Willy Loman. You can google that if you want to, but it is time for you to grab yourself by the bootstraps, lace up your boots a little bit, a little bit tighter and tell me what you can do, not what you can't do.
Love it. Yes.
And once you're in can do mode, Glenn, your whole outlook changes a little bit. Remind yourself about what you control and who you are and then talk to yourself about who you want to become when this is over. You're not going to stay a curmudgeon. I'm going to tell you I'm launching a course next week on how to recover.
I love it. Now everybody should tune in to Jeffrey on his Facebook Live at 10am in the morning to get their attitude message. He is doing something every single day to take you through the coronavirus. He just had an incredible two day business mastery session that you can also sign up for. Jeffrey has so much content that you can sign up for and purchase to get your mind through this. That's great. But if you want it for free and be live 10am and then hopefully you will sign up. And if you go to Jeffrey's site and his Facebook page, you'll always be able@getomer.com you'll always be able to open your mind and learn more. Jeffrey, tell me, what does hustle mean to you?
It means get up off your. I'm on my ass right now, but only because I'm on this podcast and as soon as I'm done, I'm getting up and moving. But let me talk to your audience for just a second. Okay.
Yes.
Last May, I had a medical issue. When you get my age, shit happens to you. And I had a very high PSA count and I had to go down to Mexico to get some treatment that you can't get in this country. So if anyone has a PSA issue, just email Glenn and he'll get it back to me. But every day that I was there, for my 21 day stay, which I came out of 80% better than when I went in, I wore my University of Attitude shirt, a sweatshirt that was given to me by the great Glenn Bill. Now, I will tell you, it was a black one. I'm coveting the red one. And I'm not trying to beg for anything. I'm more than happy to pay wholesale for it, because that's as far as people in my religion are willing to go.
Yes.
But the bottom line is Glenn Bill is a giver. And once you understand that, you're going to understand why he does what he does. He is blessed enough without doing any of this attitude stuff. He's doing the attitude stuff for his. His, his own feelings of goodwill. But it will bless you, all of you. So I please, I highly recommend that whatever you're doing with him, do more.
Jeffrey, thank you. I only want to keep you for 13 minutes. That was gracious. You'll have a red one coming your way. And thanks for blessing us with your attitude. Guys, please tune in to Jeffrey every day at 10am Follow him. And if you're in sales, that is it. This is Glenn Bill from the University of Attitude reminding you that you cannot win in life until you win in your mind first. You're just six inches away from greatness. So, Jeffrey, thank you so much. God bless.
My pleasure. Cheers.
