Yet attitude means how can I proactively change the way I think? How can I proactively increase my life? How can I proactively create better relationships and better work situations for me to enjoy it and welcome to the Gap the Get Attitude Podcast. My name is Glenn Bill, Author of the ABCs of Attitude, Keynote speaker and very, very thankful and grateful podcast host of the Get Attitude Podcast. We want to thank you for joining us for a live podcast. If I seem a little bit out of breath, ladies and gentlemen, Flying by.
The seat of your pants as always, right?
I mean, literally. I literally just sat down for our podcast. It took me an hour and 20 minutes to get to the studio. And so you know what, what a great opportunity for me to work on my attitude. As I was fighting orange barrels and as I was fighting slow drivers and hitting exactly every single red light, I.
Thought you're going to say hitting slow drivers.
I might have hit some slow drivers. But I kept on going and you know, it just made me think about when I was doing a virtual keynote the other day and I told everybody that when you leave the house, say I love red lights and traffic with a big smile on your face. Because isn't it amazing that red lights and traffic can really piss people off. And so you know what? The good thing is I'm fine. I feel great. I have a good energy.
You look great.
Thank you. Thank you, Jason. But it's my, my mercy. What a challenge. I want to dedicate today's podcast to my mother and father who are up in heaven. Their 59th anniversary was today, so hope mom and dad are up there and my siblings if you are watching and listen. Love you guys all. And boy, I can't believe it. Jason, we are on booster number seven, the seventh month of the Get Attitude podcast. I want to thank you, my friend.
Can you believe it? Can you believe it?
And Jason's been with me. Studio Jay, if you're at beginning a podcast, learning how to do a podcast, you can contact me. I have a course on how to launch your podcast and certainly a big part of that is our good friend here at Studio Date, Studio J. My man. Jason. Jason.
It's beautiful.
It is so gorgeous. Here we are. Hey. From behind the thing. So I believe, Jason, we are on what, four or five different platforms? We are live, man. We're.
Yeah, we're.
Do we have anybody watching? Do we have any eyeballs up?
All eyes on you?
Not many, obviously.
No. We're on a few different platforms.
Right. So it doesn't show. Right.
It only shows one. So it's not necessarily. We're in like Facebook on all of your Facebook pages, like five pages. I love that attitude podcast page, the University of Attitude and your Glenville page and others.
Nice, nice. Well, today no guests, but I want to first of all thank everybody for liking and sharing the 846 interviews, stories of black America. I believe we've just hit over 10,000 views on that. I can tell you that next Wednesday we're going to be live doing the same setup. We're going to have four beautiful black women in the studio and I believe we're going to do it at 3 o' clock at this time. So we're going to get the female's perspective on what it is like to be a black woman in America. And hopefully we'll have as much engagement and thoughtfulness as we did with our super, super guests from, I think it was two weeks ago. So thank you for supporting the 846 interviews. That's just a little special project we're doing. But as you know, our season number one is based on the attitude boosters, the 10 attitude boosters. And we're, we always do an introduction to the attitude booster coming up for this month. And I'm telling you what attitude booster number seven. We got three unreal guests. We have a fourth that we're lining up. I can't say who it is, but it's a big one. Surprise, surprise. So make sure that you are sharing and subscribing and rating and reviewing what we're doing. If you like what you hear a.
Couple of comments rolling in. If you want to get some of.
Those, talk to me people.
Yes, Facebook here. So we got Carol.
Carol, my good, my good friend Carol, Johann.
And happy anniversary.
Oh, thanks, Carol.
Folks.
That's good stuff. That's good. Hope your mom's doing great. Anybody else over there?
Kevin Williams from Les Brown Group.
Ah, awesome. Hey, Steve, good to have you. Good to have you. Will be seeing you tonight at 7 o' clock on the Les Brown show or on our power group, our power voice group. So I'm going to jump right into It. But please, if you guys are watching and you like what you're seeing, hit me with some hearts and some thumbs up. Please feel free to put anything in the comments. If you want me to respond anything, I will. But, guys, we are starting the seventh month with attitude booster number seven, grow or Die. And I want you to listen to the three guests that we have. Number one is International Best Seller hall of Fame speaker, Mr. Jeffrey Gittamer, the gentleman who wrote the Little Red Book of selling, the number one sales book on the history of the planet. We interviewed Jeffrey. Jeffrey got this podcast started with his wife Jen, and Jen wrote Sales in a New York Minute, another best seller. But Jeffrey's written about 11 books. He has a great live feed every morning at 10am if you want to get your mind right and learn from this legend and one of my mentors, Jeffrey will be coming up next week. We'll be dropping his podcast. He is just, you know, he's, he's just one of the best. When it's all said and done. And then, I don't know. Do you have Jen? How about we pull up Jen Gittamer? Boom. That's his wife. She wrote Sales in a New York Minute. Jen just is doing some incredible, incredible things. And if you're an entrepreneur, if you're a business owner, if you're a business woman, Jen is somebody that you want to follow. She's doing some incredible things. And then I don't know that we have Patrizia Martin or Patrizia Martin.
Yeah, we do. It's right there.
There's my girl Patrizia. She's got her shades on. Patrizia is from Italy. She lives in Dubai. She is the CEO of the MMA all the way over there. And again, if you are a woman that wants to be empowered, Patrizia's story is fantastic and her energy is electric. And that is one that you aren't going to want to miss. But if you are, you know what, a salesperson, an entrepreneur, a wannabe author, really truly one of the gifts that America has. One of the most brilliant guys I know, Jeffrey Gittamer. Next week we're going to be dropping him. So I'm telling you, grow or die. Attitude booster number seven. This month is going to be awesome. And I know that if you're on and you're watching, there's a reason for it. You know what, you've come here to bridge the gap from who you are to who do you want to become, from where you are to where you want to go. And I honor you. There are so many people that won't take the time. I know that you're giving me your time, and so I got to deliver. And so that's what I'm here to do today, is to deliver, to get you thinking about what can this month bring to you? Like, is it possible that your life could completely change in the next 30 days? Well, absolutely. I always love to say to people, how long does it take to change your life? Right? Well, it takes about one decision and about 10 seconds to completely change things. So hopefully you are here to bridge the gap. To bridge the gap maybe of happiness. To bridge the gap from sadness to happiness to being lonely, to being fulfilled, from being tired all the time to having unbelievable energy. I don't know what you're trying to do and what bridge you're trying to bridge the gap with, but I can tell you this, that it is possible. And I'm going to continue to bring you major influencers, super smart people, published authors, keynote speakers, business leaders, to help you find the answers that you might be looking for. So I just want to thank you for your support over the past six months. I mean, a half a year of podcasts we've been doing, and now we're getting ready to go into attitude booster number seven. We have some really, really cool things set up for next season. But I want to talk a little bit today about grow or die. And grow or die is just such a great topic because you know what? If you're not growing, you're dying as the great Lou Holtz, always. And if there is more to life that you feel that you deserve or that you want to grasp onto, this month is going to be a window into how you do that. You're going to see real success stories from our guests. And, you know, I always like to just start with questions, right? I want you to think about this. Feel free to write them down if you want. But, like, how will your life be different in a year? I want you to think about June 24, 2021. I mean, my God. And June 24, 2019. Jason, I don't think any of us thought if we said next year at this day, the. The all sports franchises will be shut down, movie theaters will be closed, restaurants done. You'll be sequestered to your home. I mean, obviously we're opening up a little bit, but, man, look at the change in just a year between 19 and 20. But what do you have in store for yourself? Have you really thought about June 24, 2021? I will be here with Jason. We will be here doing another podcast.
Scary thing is, we're only halfway through 2020.
I know we have a whole. We got a lot more to do, but hopefully it's only going to work its way up. But I think it is worth thinking about because we get caught up and we get caught up in the news. And I can just only tell you that if you are watching the media, please stop, because it is not helping your attitude, I can promise you that. But our time today, and I've got about 19 more minutes, I just want to ask you some questions. I want you to begin to think about what does July look like for you? Where do you need to grow in your life? And how will your life be different in a year? And are you committed to making that difference? Can you vividly see next summer where you will be, what you will look like, what job you will have, what your relationships are? Will there. Where will there be? Will they be better? And I always like to ask this question about growing or dying, right? And it's like, how much do you worry about what others think of you? When we talk about our critical question that is in the book and in several, several times we talk about this on stage, right? And it's like I ask people their critical question, and so many people are living their lives saying, what will people think of me, right? What, what are people thinking of me? And hopefully you understand by having me say this, what a disempowering question that is to go around and be worrying, really what people think. If you are truly going to grow into the person that you want to the success and fulfillment levels that you wish, I'm going to tell you this. You are going to have to leave some people behind and you are going to have to stop worrying what other people think of you. Because the reality is this. People who think negatively of you, people that doubt you, people that are trying to crush your dreams and put a lid on your imagination, those people, right, aren't worth it, right? They may be wrong. Like we always like to say, is it true? Right? So is what other people thinking about you, how they're trying to control you, manipulate you? Are they right or are you right? I always like to say, make sure you bet on yourself. So for the next 30 days, actually the next 37 days, I want you to start betting on yourself. Stop worrying about others and grow through it. What are you doing to invest in your relationships? How much are you really investing in family, friends, peers, business? The people that you come into Every day. What are you doing to invest in them to improve their lives? Are you listening? Are you writing personal notes? Are you understanding where they're coming from? And most importantly, are you helping? Are you helping the people that you are in relationships with? And one way you can help is to simply just ask them. You know, ask them, tell me what the past three months have been like for you and how are you surviving and, and how are you feeling and is there anything I can do? And then whatever they tell you, write that down. Because the highest form of listening is when you write things down. And are you living in a state of anxiety right now? Have you been focusing on what you've been doing wrong? The biggest mistakes like these are questions that I want you to be pondering as we bring the Grow or Die podcast. And it's not that Get Attitude podcast. There actually is a Grow or Die podcast I found Jason, to you. So just a few questions to start that off. But the thing that I love most about the Grow or Die Booster is simply this. Whatever problem that you are facing in your life, I'm telling you, booster number seven, Booster number seven will answer any problem that you are having in your life. And that means you have to what, Grow out of it. I've had many situations in my life, without getting too personal that, you know what, my back was to the wall. And you may be in a position where your back is to the wall, where maybe you have a lot of self doubt, you have a lot of stress, you have a lot of responsibility and you got some deliverables that you need to get and you're not sure quite how to do that. Like, we are all living in a state of stress right now just because of what's going on with COVID not to mention just the state of America, politically and racially. And so the answer to whatever problem is ailing you, and I'd love to hear, and I'm sure nobody's going to be vulnerable enough, but it's like, what is the one problem that you are fighting? And what I'm telling you is this. Your ability to grow through your problem. That is always the answer. I'm in a special power group with the great Les Brown. If you haven't heard of Les Brown or have never listened to Les Brown, I would ask you to get on YouTube and watch him. And he had us say this the other day. And I think it is so important when we talk about growing through our problems, finding solutions to every problem you have. And he said this, ask. And it shall be given you. Seek and you will find. Knock and it shall be open to you. For everyone that asketh, receiveth, he that seeketh, findeth, and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened. And so what does that mean? Seek and you will find. Look at the answers are in front of you. I don't know what you're facing right now, but I can tell you somebody's probably got it worse. I know some of you are very challenged financially. Some of you are challenged without a job. Some of you are having marital issues because of the pressure that's being put on. Some of you have health problems, right? Some of you have depression or emotional problems. Well, I will tell you that you are not the only person with that problem. There are other people with the same problems and the same stress as you. And if you seek the answers, seek to find people who can help you who have been through it. This is what Grow or Die is all about. This month is really going to be about renewal. It's going to be about. It's going to be about shedding your fears, shedding your problems and embracing the hope of the future. And hopefully we will be able to get you to bridge that gap over the next 30 days. You know what? Problems are just a sign of life. They are simply your next lesson, right? Heard that from the great Tony Robbins on his comeback broadcast yesterday on Facebook. But if we stop looking at problems as problems and understand that they really are just a sign of life, like love, adversity is going to be next month. Booster number eight. If you don't have any problems, then you're dead. And so sometimes we need to be looking positively at our problems and embrace those problems and understand that there's lessons to be learned by engaging and facing and rising up against your problems. And that is the lesson that is there. That is the gift to us from whatever we might be struggling with. And I know that there are people that are having a tough time and I get it, but there's people that respond, right? There's people that make things happen. There's people that watch things happen and there's people that say, what the hell just happened? Well, don't be one of those people that says what just happened and don't be watching. Let's be proactive and let's grow. See, growing is a proactive exercise. It indicates motion. It indicates action. And that's what we're going to try to help instill in your life over the next 30 days in this fantastic month of July. So let me See what else I got for you Here we talk about, you know, have you ever had a problem that you've fought through? Have you ever had a situation in your life where you surprised yourself and you came out on top and was the reward great? And what, what we find is this. The size of your reward is proportionate to the size of your problem. If you have small problems, you know what, your reward's probably going to be kind of small. But let me tell you, if you got some big ass problems and you grow through those problems and you seek out the expertise, I am telling you this, that the reward for you will be great. Understand that if you have big, major, big ass, hairy problems, your reward will be greater than if you just had the small one. So you know what? Embrace that adversity. I know that it's hard to say and it's hard to do, but sometimes, no matter what it is, I had a private group that we did this with. They sent me in their worst problems and I tried to show them two or three different positives that occur from every problem and every challenge that we face. So you know what? Everybody experiences these problems. Everybody experiences stress, extreme stress. And there's a lot of times that the problems and the stress we have, they aren't any doing of our own. There are things that are out of control, that throw us for a loop, that knock us on our ass. But you know what? Stress doesn't come from the facts. Stress comes from the meaning that we give to those facts. And what we talk about often is not living in your circumstance, but in your vision. When we talk about growing through your problems, when we talk about stress and problems that so many people are only looking at what is in front of them. And our guests this month are going to show you how to look through your circumstance and how to have that vision pull you through your circumstance. So stress doesn't become an issue. So many of us are stressed out about our circumstances, right? Well, it's not the circumstances. It's the meaning that you put to the circumstances. And when you can begin to look at your problem and your stresses and your circumstances as gifts, as opportunities to learn, as the ability for you to grow, then you know what? The stress melts away. Even though you still may feel it, it does. So the question is, what are you going to do with your life? Right? What are you going to do with your life? What are you going to do with your year? What are you going to do with your month? I know that everybody wants more. I believe that everybody does have greatness within them. I believe that people, people want to do better. They wanna be happier, they wanna be more fulfilled. And I believe that you who are listening are here for a reason. You are here because you are trying to bridge the gap you are seeking. You are trying to find answers. And if I'm helping you, think about your life, think about your success, think about your happiness, Think about your gratitude. Please feel free to share this brief introduction Podcast on Booster number seven. Grow or die. See, we all have one thing in common. We all have the power to choose, right? And you have a choice. And the choice can be made today. The choice is either to grow or to die. Have you ever made two decisions? I want you to just think back. What are the two biggest decisions you made in your life? And did they make your life better or did they make your life worse? It could be, you know, for, for anybody, it could be two things that made it better, two things that made it worse, or one on one. But at some point in your life, you had a pivotal moment and you had a time where you had to make a decision that was stressful. And those decisions changed the course of your life, right? And I want you to think about those. And the reason, I want you to think about how those decisions change your life. What the impact was, what the circumstances were, was fate involved? Like, I know people that said, yeah, you know what? I turned off on exit 127, walked into a restaurant and met the love of my life. Like, what would happen if they didn't make that decision? And the point I'm trying to make is that very small decisions that you make can make a huge difference in your life. And I think the more decisions that you make will increase your odds for you to create the life you want and to bridge the gap from who you are to who you want to become. And I will challenge you that when we look at growth and growing, the number one fastest way to grow is this thing called modeling, right? Have a mentor Copy them. Booster 5. And that is there are people in life that are killing it in their financial life, business life, personal life, health life, religious life. Find one person that you can observe and that you can seek information from. So your rate of execution of growth can just be exponential and off the charts. There are solutions to everything that you are going through and those solutions are out there. Nobody has a unique problem. All you have to do is seek and you will find. And really, I want you to be thinking what is possible? What is possible in my life right now? What is possible in every area of my life. You know, let's recognize the time we are in. If there's ever been a time for a new beginning, today is the day. July 1st attitude booster number seven is the day. This is unprecedented times. People aren't working. More people are dying than ever. There's more outrage and hate probably than I've ever seen. We are at a historic time, and it's time to turn the corner. It's not about what's happening in the world, but it's about what's happening in your world. And I challenge you to grow or die with me on the Get Attitude podcast this, this upcoming month. You know, as I, as I looked around and we've been working so hard through this, I was a little bit sad, I was a little bit depressed. And then you know what? I had to kick myself in my own ass and I had to do something. I had to create. That's why we started the 846 interviews. That's why we continue to work on our podcast. That's why if you go to the University of Attitude Facebook page, you will see 35 attitude workouts that are 13 minutes apiece. I hope that you enjoy those, take notes, work through that. You certainly can always buy our book, the ABCs of Attitude, and continue to share, like and subscribe and rate and review the Get Attitude podcast. Our numbers are going up. We are so fortunate, all of you gappers out there that have been supporting us for the past six months. I just cannot thank you enough. And my challenge to you is go create a new reality for yourself. Go create a new direction for your life through this thing called growth. It is time for a new beginning. So I got eight little points that I'd like to make. Just eight thoughts to help you with how to grow. Right? So it's like, how am I going to grow, Glenn? Well, obviously, number one, sit and listen to the Get Attitude podcast. When we drop it, it's either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Jason, what's the official drop date when we're going to get back on? Covid kind of knocked us off. But what is your thought on that? On the drop date for which now just any podcast. I mean, when, when do we, I think we try to get it out? Tuesday at midnight?
Yeah, it's actually every Tuesday at 5am so that. That way. Cool. Can listen on the ride to work or whatever they can, they can list on Apple podcasts, Spotify, wherever they listen to it, or they can watch it on. On YouTube. So that's when we drop every Tuesday, 5am Cool.
And then you can go to the Get Attitude podcast for our link tree. And if you want to put that in your phone, that will also link you to our podcast and it will allow you to share every platform to other people that you think might need a little bit of an attitude adjustment. So here's my eight thoughts. Number one, take a course. If you really want to change your attitude, if you want to grow, it's time to take a course. I am currently involved in the Les Brown Power Voice course. Look at. I've been doing great. Our keynotes have been fantastic. I'm speaking more now than ever. Some people would say I'm at the top of my game. I'm having the most success as a speaker as I've ever had. But you know what? I needed to grow. I need more. So I hired the great Les Brown to help me with that. I took Jeffrey Gittamer's New Normal course. Jeffrey has put together, I think, 64 vignettes, if you will. There may be 10 minute videos on the New Normal and what it's going to take to survive in the New Normal. I'm involved in that class. And then I have the great Ken Walls. I signed up and I'm in Ken Walls's class and he talks about live streaming and the importance of going live. That is why we are here today. The world is changing, but I am growing and I challenge you to grow and I challenge you to find one course. I mean, for God's sake, there's a hundred thousand courses out there. They're all online. You can take them. And if you want to grow and start changing your attitude and changing your focus, finding a course, I'd recommend any of the three that I'm in would be great. If you need a personal recommendation, you let me know. Number two, find that mentor, right? Find that person that you can model so your results and your accomplishments can accelerate at a much faster pace than just trying to do it on your own. There are people that you can watch that you can model that will accelerate and shoot you right to the moon. I like this one. Nobody likes to admit it, but stop on bad behavior, right? So each of us probably have a bad behavior that we do every single day, whatever that might be. I don't know, it might be not exercising, it might be not taking a walk, but there's something that is holding you back each and every day that you continue to do. And it might be self doubt, it might be talking to yourself. It Might be focusing on what you're doing wrong instead of focusing on what you're doing right. But there's one bad behavior that you need to get rid of. That's number three. Number four is what start one new positive behavior. What can you do each and every day, even if it's for two or three minutes? I was on a podcast the other day and, you know, just imagine if you did a hundred jumping jacks a day, what that does for you. You talk about instantly increasing your heart rate and your blood flow first thing in the morning. I'm telling you, do something to increase your heart rate. Maybe it's drinking 16 ounces of water every single day. If you guys. I actually did the 12 attitude actions, and that is on the get out. That's probably on the University of attitude Facebook page. 12 great ideas to increase your positive attitude. One of those is, well, there's basically pick one of those 12 and make that your new behavior. Number five, honor and write down your three greatest qualities in you. Sometimes it's important that we give ourselves our own pep talk, that we have a conversation with ourselves, and that we focus on the three great things that we do, that we need to expand, that we need to shed a light on and that we need to share with others. And if you can't figure out three great things, then we really need to do some work. But I guarantee you, you have three things within you. You have three great qualities and traits and whatever they are, I'd love you to DM me on Facebook, let me know what it is, and focus on those and grow with those. In other words, they may be great now, they may be level sevens, but how can we get those to a level 10 by the end of July?
Number six actually got a great comment from Debbie. Bill Tucker, even when problems occur, gratitude for the positives you still have is one strong way to alleviate these problems. Write down every single day what you are thankful for. This really helps to relieve the quagmire of having problems and dealing with problems. It's your response to problems that help make or break you. So we got their little.
I love it. Debbie.
Heard a comment on screen there.
Debbie. Thank you. Debbie. Thanks for being with us and sharing. It's, you know, it's a little bit scary. And you know what? Everybody's live and everybody's virtual and everybody's on video. And this is part of the new normal. So, Debbie, I want to first of all, send my best to Coach Tucker. And Debbie, thank you for that wonderful comment. I hope that if you're not watching this live and you're watching it now that you check out what Debbie says. Debbie's a great supporter of our podcast, and we really, really appreciate you, Debbie, for that kind thought and your kind share. Number six is create something. Like, what can you create? What can you write? What can you produce? What can you video? What can you paint? What can you sing? I don't know what it is, but I'm telling you what. Creation forces growth. And some people say, glenn, I'm just not very creative. I don't know what to do. We'll try something. Try to create something. You'll be amazed at what it does for your attitude. You'll be amazed at what it does for your mindset, and you'll be amazed at how it will force you to grow. And so when I say create something, maybe it's just, you know, finding a new skill. Number seven, I said it. And that's bet on yourself. You know what? Talk to yourself and say, you know what, self? The next five weeks, I'm going to bet on you and try to put yourself first. You know what? You don't owe the world anything, but you owe yourself everything. And I hope that you take this challenge, this five week challenge, this July challenge, and that you bet on yourself, give yourself the right pep talk, say, I have clarity about my life in the next five weeks, right? And it's like seeking. You will find, ask, and it will be given to you. Knock, and it shall be open to you. This is what we're talking about. And then finally, number eight is just basically make your decision to grow, right? If you want things to change, you must change. Today can be the beginning of something fantastic for you. If you know that there's more to life. And I believe that you know that there's more to your life. If you believe that there is more happiness and fulfillment, if you believe there's more joy, if you believe that you have something to contribute to the world. It is time to start now. And it is time to grow into the person that you dream to be. It is time that the people that are counting on you, that the people that look at you see the brilliance and the greatness that you have within you. So I hope today you will make that decision to grow with me. I hope you join us each and every Tuesday for the next five weeks. Make that decision. Make that change. This is Glenn Bill reminding you that you cannot win in life, you cannot win in business unless you win in your mind first. And that's what we do here at the University of Attitude.
