And I want to know, when I asked you this, what is your big goal? Hello, hello, hello and welcome my friends. It is good to be with you as we start the second month of the Get Attitude podcast. My name is Glenn Bill, founder of the University of Attitude, keynote speaker and author of the ABCs of Attitude. I've been fortunate enough to help tens of thousands of people get Attitude. We had unreal signup subscriptions, nice reviews, plenty of ratings. But you know what? We need more and we need to try to help people brighten their day. Help people come up with a new way of thinking, a more positive way of thinking and share that with everybody that they love. You know, attitude is the secret formula to success in your business and in your life. And this podcast, well, it's going to help you get yours. So welcome to the gap. Welcome to the Get Attitude podcast where we are going to help you bridge the gap from who you are to who you want to become. So today, what we are here to talk about, to introduce you to attitude booster number two, which is have a big goal. Now last month we did four episodes. We had incredible guest Dr. Chuck Dietzen, who's actually running for the United States Congress, who was a Mello Med student from Purdue, but he was actually a kid from Kokomo who grew up with 150 foster kids. Now he's running for the United States Congress. Global Healer at the Timmy Global Health foundation does some great work. And Chuck's words of wisdom to us in the week One podcast were awesome. And he talked about stories of meeting the Pope and working with Mother Teresa and what they met. Then we met the fantastic Tracy Hutton, who's The president and CEO of a billion dollar real estate brokerage, Century 21 Sheets, here in Carmel and all throughout central Indiana. She talked about how she walked in as a receptionist and became what I consider to be one of the most influential, powerful females in the real estate world. And you know, her interview was exceptional. So we had just a few examples of extremely brilliant people. The great Garrison Wynn, one of the top motivational speakers of all time, especially this year, talked about how he became a young boss to becoming an international speaker. Garrison was a stand up comedian and has a brilliant million dollar speaking business now. And then, of course we ended with the legendary Andy Andrews who's written, I don't know, seven or eight New York Times best selling books. Bottom of the Pool is his new one. And all four of those focused on being nice and what being nice did to their career. What being nice did to their, well, their influence, I won't say their power. They're not really power hungry people, but they are powerful people of influence that want to do things the right way. So our goal was on those first four podcasts. Hey, how do we, how do we leverage being nice to become more influential? How do we leverage being nice to help us get from who we are to who we want to become? I know this, that you can bulldog your way through life, you can bulldog your way from where you are to where you want to be. But, but when you get to the other side, if you got a bunch of carnage behind you, it is not going to be a fulfilling endeavor. That's what week one was. We encourage you to go back to whatever platform you're listening on. Sign up. Please subscribe. We have a big goal. We want to try to get to 10,000 podcast downloads by the end of the month. And we're going to need people, we need everybody. You know what? So I'm going to try to be nice. I'm going to ask you to share this, I'm going to ask you to subscribe to it and hopefully maybe Jason can throw a link down in the comments below so people can point, click and get on there. That would be super, our super producer Jason. But I think what we need to do is get into this. This is one of my favorite of the 10 attitude boosters and it's called have a Big Goal. But why don't we go ahead and talk from my heart. From Glenn Bill to you on the Get Attitude podcast this week. This is just an introduction and I want to talk to you about this thing called having a big goal. You know, there's been said that the mind is a goal seeking device. And I always talk about what you focus on is what you feel right? What you think about is what you become the great Napoleon Hill. And if you want to get from who you are to who you want to become and from where you are to where you want to be, then you. The question is what is going on in that mind of yours. And is the goal clearly set? And I'm not just talking about small goals. I'm talking about big goals. See, there's a difference between big goals and small goals. And there's a reason attitude booster number two is not have a small goal. Attitude booster number two is have a big goal. And I want to know, when I asked you this, what is your big goal? I like, do you know it? Is it crystal clear? Is it written down? Is it in front of you every day? Or are you one of the 90%? And I would say that is. That really has no clarity, no definition of what the hell their big goal is. And there's a lot of reasons people don't have a big goal that don't want to set a big goal. I'm not telling you that you have to have a big goal to be successful or to be happy, because certainly there's people that don't. But I'm telling you that if you are feeling unfulfilled, if you're feeling lethargic, if you're feeling like you have a loss of energy, a loss of passion, a loss of direction, if you're sitting there going, why am I here? What's my purpose in life? I can tell you that the absence of a large goal is probably the reason that you're feeling that way. So in our quest to help you bridge the gap from feeling like crap to feeling empowered, and that you're chasing something that's big, that's worthwhile, that can make the effect on other people, I'm telling you, having a big goal is what it is. And we're just going to talk. I don't know. I got about 10 or 11 things I want to talk to you about when it comes to having a big goal that you need to ask yourself and sit down. And maybe at the end of this month, with our four distinguished guests, you're going to learn the tricks, the tools and the trade of how to have a big goal, what it means to have a big goal, to the attitude it takes to have the courage to do that. And I can tell you that we have four amazing guests that are going to be coming up on our podcast this month. We're going to lead off with the great Matt De La Cruz, who started the winning Minds group. Matt had major influences with Zig Ziglar, Tom Hopkins, Tony Robbins, which a lot of the personal development people have. Matt De La Cruz is one of the best speaking promoters I've ever seen. When he promotes an event. Now he does his own events. He's a John Maxwell speaker. And Matt's actually over in India right now talking with men's group about faith and religion, about being nice. But he's also talking about having that big goal of self fulfillment and of ultimate influence. Our next guest after that's going to be Guy was a former pro football player, president and CEO of Movement Mortgage, Movement Mortgages out of Charlotte. They are a killer mortgage operation. Their expansion and influences off the chain. Casey's energy is absolutely incredible and you don't want to miss that podcast. If you need a boost in your day, if you need some energy, if you like, you know, the, the, the jock type of motivation, considering that's what I was. You're going to love Casey. You're going to absolutely love Casey. Then we're going to talk to Lori Wilson. Lori is a dear friend of mine. She is one of the anchors on television down in Atlanta, Georgia. Lori is a extreme avid fan of personal development and we're going to listen to her story about where she came from to where she ended up, which is being an Emmy award winning broadcaster. And Lori has a lot to teach us. I admire her. She has some great, great fun tips on having a big goal and how to overcome, how to overcome adversity, but how to overcome, look at, you know, who you are and what you may look like. You know, we always know. I always tell people, you know, it's, we understand the challenge to be a woman, but to be a woman of color in America, certainly lots of the odds are stacked against you. And Lori's sheer passion, her understanding, her wisdom and, well, her unreal personality and her unreal attitude is, is somebody you're going to want to listen to. And she's got some great antidotes that we've talked about that you're really going to like. And then we're going to finish up the month with Dave and Yvette Uola. Dave was a police officer. Yvette's from Brazil and they created a multi, multimillion dollar travel business. They do marriage planning. And I met both of them at actually a Tony Robbins seminar. And I follow them. They're, they're they're just so fun. They're moving into their house in San Diego and we're going to be having some great stuff with them. I just want you to imagine for a minute five or ten things that you feel are out of reach in your life. That's the goal. Right? One of the favorite goal setting sessions I ever did was with the Great Jim Rohn. And he said, don't worry if you can do the goal or if you can't do the goal. And the more ridiculous the goal you make, the better. And I've always taken that over the past 30 years of my life. I did that young. I mean, here I am sitting here on a national podcast with my face and at Studio J, making things happen. I don't know. Did I ever think that this would happen? So I ask you, what is your big goal? What. What are. You know, if money didn't matter, if somebody dropped $10 million in your lap, what would you be doing with your life? That's, like, one way to find that. Or what is it that you see in the media? What does it see as you walk around life? Who is it that you see that you go, God, I'd love to be just like that person, or I'd love to live the life that that person lives. And, you know, maybe it's stuff, right? Maybe it's. I want the big houses, the big cars, I want to own yachts. I want to own multiple lakefront properties. You know, here's the point. I don't care what it is. It's your goal. Not my goal, but what I think that is very helpful for your mind and for your motivation is that you create a list of five to ten things that you go, there's no way in hell I could do that. But then you start to write them down, and trust me, your subconscious mind, and your mind, which is the ultimate muscle in your body, will move you towards that goal. The mind is a goal seeking to device. And when you put that input in your brain, trust me, things happen. I know. We talk about the book called the Secret, right? The Law of Attraction. Well, you can say it's hocus pocus and it doesn't work, and that's probably because you haven't done it. But I can assure you, I've written down some big goals in my life that have occurred. And they've occurred because I wrote them down and I thought. And they were big. And many people go, how in the world, Glenn, do you do what you do? You earn the real estate business. You got a little TV thing you do. We hear you on the radio, we got a podcast. You. You go around the country and you do keynote speeches for fantastic customers and a bunch of other stuff. And the bottom line is I. I'm able to do that because I expected it, and I set the goal. And I can tell you this. One of my goals, you know, look at you can't reach your goals by yourself. Zig Ziglar always said it that that turtle didn't get to the top of the fence post all by himself, right? Somebody helped put him there. And I'm hoping that this month will inspire you to share this, subscribe it and get this to people who you think could use the tools and the information and the content that we're going to deliver on how to have a big goal. So the first thing is, is to write down those five or ten things that you think could never happen that are ridiculous. Some people call them big hags, right? Big hairy ass goals and have some fun with it. There's no reason to be afraid of it. They're not going to reach up and bite you and they're not going to put you in jail. And so when we talk about big goals versus small goals, there's also a thing called short term goals and long term goals. I'm not talking to you about short term goals today, right? I'm talking about long term goals, long range goals. And you know the thing with long range goals are they're called something called a dream, right? They're your dreams. They're your big goals. Do you have dreams? Do you have big dreams? Right. We know that your better life is found in your dreams. It's your inspiration. See, your dreams are there is who you are, which is short term. And I want to make these short term goals and do all this stuff. But we know your better life, the life you truly desire, the life at the other end of the bridge, right? The, the life at the end of the gap is a better life because of the dreams you have. That's where your better life lays. It's in your dreams. It's your inspiration, it's your motivation. The people I see who are down, the people I see are lethargic. The people I see who are blamers, the people I see with shitty attitudes are usually people I see who lack dreams or they're people I see who are living the dreams of others and they're feeling like they're being manipulated and they're feeling like they're being bossed around and they're not feeling free. So I want to encourage you today, just like we said a few minutes ago, let's dream. Let's. Let's dream big. And if your dreams aren't giving you the juice out of life that you want, I say scrunch up the paper and write down a few others. We got someone that apparently says, I will open a restaurant. Et. I like it. Good for you, et. Thank you for joining us. Please share this. I love it and I think you will open a restaurant. You didn't say I may open a restaurant. So if you're listening in on the attitude movement with me or at the University of Attitude, please tell me what your big dream is. And I don't care if you believe that you can do it or not. I'm telling you this. It's not the how, right? It's what it is right when. The why. We're going to talk about this a little bit later, but when the why becomes big enough, the how becomes very easy. So we would love to have everybody join in, hit us with, hey, tell us what your big dream is. And that's good. All right, point number six, don't lose your dreams or have them taken away. So the bottom line is this. As you write down these dreams, as you identify these dreams, there are people that are going to try to rain on your parade because they have no parade of their own. And I want you to understand that holding onto your dreams and persevering right with your dream in mind, that's the real deal. When you hear from these four people, all four of these people had dreams. All four of these people had people that doubted them that said you couldn't do it, that said you shouldn't do it for one reason or another. Who are the people in your life that are telling you you can't do things, that you shouldn't do things? And then you need to ask yourself, why are they telling me that when I share with them my big dream? Well, that probably two answers to that, right? One is that they only want to make themselves feel better. And the second thing is, is that they're just probably jealous that they don't have the guts to step out and to live their dream and to even make their dream. You know, making your dream and living your dream Two different things. But what I want to encourage you to do is put up that positive shell. Don't let people take or steal your dream. The other thing about becoming a big dreamer, a big long twist term, big goal person, is that it's not what you get in life, but it's what you have to become in order to have that dream. Who do you have to become to achieve the big goals in your life? And that's found through personal development, right? It's about the person you want to become. Why do we set big goals? Because you know what? We all want to improve. We all want to, we all want to get better. We all want to create a bridge the gap, right, from who we are to who we want to be. We all want to bridge the gap from where we are to where we want to go. But you know, without a roadmap, without a destination in mind, it is not going to happen. The cool thing about having big goals, though, is it changes you. And I believe that it improves you as a person because you have to be a certain type of person in order to achieve big, big goals. And I always like to. Somebody told me about, you know, if you ever want to date a supermodel. I don't know if this is true or not, but most, most of the time you don't see supermodels that are going out with guys that are drinking, smoking, 130 pounds overweight, eating Doritos and Mountain Dew for breakfast, right? If you really set a goal to date one of the most beautiful women in the world, you're going to have to become most likely somebody different than you are now. I'm not saying there's not a rare exception where that happen, and I'm not saying it's all about physical looks. But I think the story stands, right? If you want to become a billion dollar, a billion dollar broker, real estate broker, if you want to really achieve top 1% status, and you look at the people that are living in the top 1% of any profession, of life, of faith, of income, they all have certain things in common and chances are you don't have a lot in common with them, right? And I'm not saying that I'm in the top 1%. There are things that my big goals are forcing me to do. You know, this podcast originated because one of my mentors, Jeffrey Gittamer, who I'll often quote and not give credit to. So I give, giving you credit. Jeffrey, if you're listening, you know, he said, glenn, people need to hear your voice. People need to. You need to do this podcast. And the most successful speakers in the world and are on this form of medium and they're sharing their content and they're helping other people. And so, you know, I just didn't wake up and go, yeah, I want to do this podcast. This podcast came as a result of a big goal. And I knew that in order for me to hit the big goal that I want, I'm going to have to do some things that are uncomfortable, that a lot of work. And you know what? We're being challenged right now. We are being challenged to get to 10,000 downloads, right? I'd love to get to 10,000 downloads. And I hope you help me. I hope you subscribe to this, I hope you share it, I hope you rate, I hope you review, and I hope that our have a big goal session has been helping you. Another quick point I want to talk about is that it's hard work. All right? I just said it, right? Doing the podcast is hard work. Any big goal you have just doesn't happen. Big goals and big accomplishments just don't fall out of trees and hit you on the head, right? It takes work. And that's where most people say, not interested. You know, setting a big goal is hard work. Why? Because you got to get through a lot of self belief. You got to get through a lot of self doubt. You got to get through a lot of self worth. A lot of people do not feel that they are worthy of a greater life. They don't feel that they're worthy of living their dreams. And the question is, why don't you feel like you're worthy? And I can tell you that most of that is found by the story you're telling yourself and the questions you're asking yourself. If you pick up my book, the ABCs of Attitude, you will see and you will understand. Why do I feel the way I feel? Why do I think the way I think? How can I change the way I feel and think to move me for a better life that has become where I become more contagious, you know, to people when I meet them, to when I feel happiness, to when I feel more gratitude every single day? That's what this is about. We're getting ready to come into. It's election day here in Indianapolis and I went to go vote, and guess what, Jason can't find my id. You are a mess today. So I can't. So I can't vote. But I'm gonna go back and try to find it and hopefully they'll let me vote with my passport. But when you talk about hard work, you know, I think about the people that are gutsy enough or stupid enough, but they're not. They're really good people that run for public office and all the work that has to happen to do that, you know, the question is, is you can bitch about your politicians, especially local ones, but, you know, would you put yourself out there to do it? It's a lot of hard work, and there's only one winner. The bottom line is, you know, especially when we talk about, when we talk about politics, right, we always hear about this word about hope. And I love hope. I think hope is great. But, you know, the future doesn't get better with hope. It gets better with plans. And when you set a big goal, I can tell you this, hope will only get you so far. But once your mind starts thinking about what are the things I need to do, who do I need to become, where do I need to show up in order for this big goal to happen? You'll be amazed at what happens. That young man who wants to open a restaurant, I promise you, within the next seven days, if you focus on that goal, you are going to see that people will show up in your life. And there probably will be an opportunity in your life in the next 30 days if you fixate on that big goal that will allow you to either begin that goal, partner with somebody in that goal, or partner with more than one. This is just the way it works. And so, you know, hope is good, but plans are better. So what I want you to do is write your big goal down. I want you to write five or ten things you think there's no way in hell you can get done, but write them down and let your mind and your subconscious work on it. And then just for fun, pick one of them and say, you know, who would I have to become or what would I have to do in order to hit that goal? And then all of a sudden, you will start finding yourself, bridging the gap and creating the life, a life that you feel more fulfilled with, that you might feel more proud of, and that you. That you may feel a sense of accomplishment like you've never felt felt before. Lastly, I think what you can do is you're going to feel the energy. You're going to feel the energy of the power of a big goal. I want to make sure that what you do is the product of your own making. Right? I talked a little bit about big goals. Some people, I always talk about vision. If you're not living your own vision. You're probably living someone else's. And I think you need to ask yourself that question. And we're going to ask our guests this on this month's podcast. Were you living somebody else's vision before you took control of your life to do your own? And I know this, that 80% of the people we talk to that we engage, when they. When they really dig down inside their attitude, inside their. Their head, inside their heart, they're going, yeah, you know what? I'm. I'm asking questions that my parents asked. I'm living a vision that's not mine. And that's why I don't feel the juice of life. That's why I don't feel the energy that it takes to get out of bed in the morning and get after the day. So what have a big goal is all about is giving you 30 days of freaking energy juice. Like, be a person possessed for the next 30 days. Whether it's a physical goal, a faith goal, an economic goal, a sales goal, whatever it might be, and get obsessed and set the goal, and you'll be amazed at what comes into your life. You know, you need to identify your big reasons for your big goals. So one. One thing after you write that note is, you got to go, okay, why the hell do I want this? Like, what are my reasons? And people without reasons are people without energy when it's all said and done. So why do you want the big goal? What would it do for you? How would it make you feel? Right? What's the reason you're doing all this for, right? Is it your kids? Is it you're feeling like you don't live free? Is it because you want more energy? You want more fulfillment? You know, what are the reasons you want to do this? You'd like to live an easier life. You don't want the pressure of life. You don't want the financial pressure. You want to get out of a marriage. You want to stay in a marriage, right? I don't know what your reasons are. Everybody's got their own reasons. I'm not sure you know, what to tell you about that, but. But that's what you need to search. Why do I feel the way I feel? Right? And what are my reasons for wanting to do this outrageous stuff? And mostly what we're going to find out is it's an emotional reason. It's going to help you feel increased love and connection. It's going to help you feel increased significance. It may actually help you increase Your growth, your contribution, or it's going to create certainty in your life. Some of you are in a terrible state of uncertainty. And we know 70% of the people that we study in America, they cling to certainty. They want to know what's going on. They, they don't like living with and in the unknown. And if you're living paycheck to paycheck, and if you're in a tough space, be it in a relationship or with a problem that you just can't get, you know, certainty is not what you're getting. And then, you know, of course some people are going to say, my biggest reason is I feel too certain. I'm bored with my life and I want to juice it up. So you know what, identifying the reason, without that reason, that's going to be the fire that gets you going. That the reason going to help you make the decision. Right? You got to come up with your reasons first and then you make the decision to go after the big goal. I hope you enjoyed this podcast. I hope it made you think about how you're looking at life. And ultimately that's what I want to happen. You know, big goals forces you to look at the world in a new way. You want to break the law of familiarity. A lot of us like being familiar, so we don't want to grow and we won't don't want big goals. So we talk ourselves out of it. And what I'm saying is, is it possible? What would happen to you, what would happen to your life if you took a new way of looking at the world? And a lot of times, small goals don't force you to do that. Big hairy ass wild goals, big goals that challenge you, force you to look in new areas for growth. They force you to look in new areas for contribution. They force you to love harder. They force you to create connections that you've never would have created before. And you know what? They give you a feeling of significance where you can actually create incredible influence and make an impact in others lives for good. So that's what you're going to hear on the next four Get Attitude podcasts. I hope that you find your inner self. I hope you find your inner big goal. I hope you find five of them. I hope you write them down. I hope you identify the reasons you want to do that and I hope that you get excited about the next 30 days. I hope you tune in with us every single Tuesday to get your dose of attitude. I know that I got some attitude today and I hope you got some too.
