Hey everybody. Welcome to today's reverse pitch for the U.S. department of Education and Institute of Education Sciences Small Business Innovation Research program. Known as E.D. i.E.S. sBIR. The E.D. iES SBIR program provides up to $1.25 million in funding to for profit small businesses for the research and development of commercially viable new education technology products for.
Students, educators or administrators in education.
In recent years, millions of students, educators.
Administrators have used products that were developed through this program. Really excited about that, that we're funding projects that end up being being used in practice at scale as well.
The products that come out of this.
Program have conducted research and pilot studies to show how well they work in classrooms and in schools.
So just a little bit about the program.
We have three different solicitations that are open each year.
Phase 1A is for $250,000 for eight months. That's for the development of novel education technology products where no or limited R.
And D has occurred before.
Phase 1B is for new projects to add a component to an existing education.
Technology prototype or product. So if you've already developed some education technology previously and you're looking to add a component to that, the 1B program would be for you.
We also have a direct to phase.
Two program that provides $1 million for two years.
This is a very unique program.
It intends to fund the development of.
New education technology products to ready existing.
Evidence based research programs for use at practice and scale.
So it's a research to practice program.
If you're working with a researcher or nonprofit organization and they've created a a evidence based intervention and they're looking to create an edtech product to scale that. That's a great program for you there.
The timeline for our FY24 programs is.
That our solicitation is going to come.
Out around end of 2023.
Early 2024 proposals will be due 60 days later. So probably February, March 24th will be our next submission deadline. Check out the slide here for the information on our program website and my.
Email for more information.
I've basically done a really high level overview here. There's a lot more details. So check out the details and then let me know if you have questions. Look forward to hearing from everybody and thanks for checking out this reverse pitch.
