My name is Kara Rutter. I'm the president of Project Victory Gardens. We're really focused on helping transitioning service members and veterans get into agriculture. Farmers are getting older. We need younger farmers.
I think it's important to start your business journey by connecting with the sba. My wife and I took the boots to business class.
It was the single most kind of life changing thing that we did during our transition. It really opened our eyes to how to establish a successful business. And now we're doing a farmer boot camp program funded under a USDA branch. And then we have a DOD Skillbridge internship program where transitioning service members spend part of their last six months out in the civilian world trying to kind of learn what they want to be when they grow up. Veterans, military family members, and spouses make great entrepreneurs, but you need someone in your corner to be able to really help you succeed, and that's the SVA.
