Locked Out of DIBBS? Here’s How to Fix It!

Do you need to reset your Dibs password or are you locked out? In just a few steps, I'll show you exactly how to regain access so that you can get back to bidding. Before starting, make sure that you have these details ready. You want to have your Dibs username on hand and you want to have the email tied to your account. You want to have any security answers that you had set in the past, and you also want to make sure that you have access to your inbox. This will just help to save you time and get you back into Dibs quickly. All right, now you want to go to the official Dibs login page and then click on Forgot Password. Then you're going to enter your username or email exactly as it appears on your account and if they ask any security questions, please answer them correctly. Typically they're not going to do that though. Alright, after you've clicked Forgot Password, you'll receive an email from Dibs with a temporary pin and it's going to look something like the email that's on your screen. And your PIN will be in the email body along with the instructions and remind you not to enter that PIN where you'd normally type your password. Instead, you're going to go back to the Dibs Forgot Password page and you're going to enter this PIN in the separate field provided. If you accidentally close the window for the Forgot Password page, don't worry about it. Just click Forgot Password again and it enter your user ID and email and then you'll see the PIN input screen. And remember that this PIN is time sensitive, but you usually have about 24 hours before it expires. Dips passwords are difficult because you have to have a new password every 60 days and they also have to be different from your last 10 passwords. So something that I always recommend is coming up with a passphrase that's easier to remember. Be sure to always write that down also. So I'll give you an example of what that means. So we'll come down here to creating our password and I'm going to come up with a phrase that will be easier for me to remember. So I'm going to do make sure that you do uppercase and lowercase letters and don't have too many consecutive so that they're broken up. So I'm going to do a capital I for I drink coffee at 6am Then I add a special character in there and I'll say because the mornings are tough. And then I'll say for me, exclamation point. And then you can see by doing that I've met all of the requirements and then that's a little bit easier to remember since it's a phrase, and then I have all the requirements met. So I'm going to make sure to copy paste that, make sure that they match, and then you can submit that for your new password. Due to how complicated the passwords have to be, honestly, I get locked out of dibs a lot of times because I will forget my password. So if you are fully locked out of dibs, don't worry about it. You can just click the same Forgot password link and you can request an unlock. Most unlocks happen within 30 minutes. It's an automated system, so if you're not unlocked after half an hour, be sure to email the Dibs Help Desk at Dibs BSMLA mil. Or you can use the Dibs Feedback form and they can help troubleshoot and manually unlock your account if needed. But usually when you click the unlock link, it works within 30 minutes, if not sooner. If you've tried everything and nothing's working, you can't create a new password and you're still locked out of your account. Be sure to call the Dibs Help Desk and have on hand your cage code, your Dibs username, any answers to any security questions that you've set up in the past, and be sure to screenshot any error messages that you've seen and have your email pulled up. Typically, these calls are super quick. They get you on quickly and they unlock you quickly, and so you should be good to go if all else fails on that end. That's it.
