This year we are celebrating that. Building on America's small business boom. There have been over 17.2 million new business applications filed during the Biden Harris administration. SBA is responsible for making sure that those businesses have capital to succeed, revenue growth, opportunities to succeed, and that they have a team behind them through the sba.
I intend to continue to work with sba. Congratulations to this year's award winners.
Appreciate you very much. Thank you.
SBA is about filling gaps in the marketplace for people who have been left behind sometimes or can't access the capital they need to grow their businesses.
The 78 world ran up the Patriot Express loan when I first started with that charity program, 504. So pretty much like I said, I wouldn't be where I am today without all those programs. We're the only agency. We're part of the Federal Cabinet, whose mission and whose focus is to serve entrepreneurs in the country.
Everyone says small businesses are the backbone of the economy. That's because they create historically two thirds of all net new jobs. They produce 40% of our output in this country, and they employ nearly half the private workforce.
Small businesses need to hear that.
This is a small business boom right now, and there are incredible opportunities.
Christine and Alan, welcome to this very special club. Thank you to the SBA for all they have done and continue to do to support America's small business owners.
We are about providing small businesses with the tools, the resources, the knowledge that they need to be successful. We're about making sure that all those great ideas that exist in those communities have the opportunity to grow into successful small businesses to build resilience for our economy.
