Hi, I'm Isabella Casillas Guzman, and I'm administrator of the U.S. small Business Administration. And the SBA is so excited to see the record rates of entrepreneurship. New business applications are off the chart during the Biden Harris administration with 10.5 million new business applications, and women entrepreneurs are leading the way. So I'm excited to be here in D.C. celebrating women's history Month with Pia, who is one of the co founders of an incredible distillery, one of the few women distilleries in America, but Republic Restoratives distillery here in D.C. tell us how the SBA has helped your business, ma'.
Am. Well, thank you first of all, for being here, but I can't say enough. I mean, I have a few lasting memories of those early days of COVID and one of them is sitting at home with a cup of coffee with my leadership team on the SBA website, realizing that there was help there at a moment that we felt completely helpless. So whether it was PPP or Eidl, we wouldn't be here without the sba.
And that's just a common story. I mean, businesses around the country have been saved by the incredible relief, and the American Rescue plan continued to support so many of our small businesses. And I think what's important to note is that women entrepreneurs and all of our underserved communities continue to need to be empowered, which is what President Biden and Vice President Harris are so committed to, making sure that the SBA continues to have the backs of all of our women entrepreneurs. So happy Women's History Month, everybody. Thank you so much for having us.
