Hi everyone. Welcome back to our channel. In today's tutorial, we will be guiding you through accessing and navigating C folders. Let's get started. Today we will be walking you through accessing C folders for the first time, downloading the necessary Viewer program, creating creating a C Folders password and downloading C Folder documents and troubleshooting. To access C folders you need to have an active Dibs account, a personally created C Folders password. This will be different from your Dibs password and a program viewer that will allow you to view the drawings once downloaded. First, let's talk about downloading the Viewer program. To view and download drawings from C folders, you need a Viewer program. The steps are listed here on the screen and I will walk you through how to do this. To download, you will go to the Dibs Home screen that looks like this. Then you will navigate inside the Help box and click to Frequently Asked Questions. Then you will click Show Help Contents. Then click on Document Viewers and download the CALS Raster C4 software that's available at the link shown on the screen. After creating your C Folder account, you will have access to all non restricted data. You do not have access, however, to restricted data marked Distribution statement C and D until you become JCP certified. This process will be covered in a later video. To register in C Folders, you will need to start at the DLA homepage and you can find the link to this in the video description. Navigate to the DLA Collaboration Folders link under Technical Data. Then you will see a page that provides some essential details about C folders. Once you've reviewed it, carefully proceed by clicking I Agree. Carefully read through the information on this page and then click I Agree at the bottom. For your very first time accessing C Folders, you are going to use your Dibs login details. An authentication pop up will appear and simply confirm by selecting ok. You will then be prompted to update your password. C Folders has very specific requirements to ensure security. To put it bluntly, DLA passwords can really be a hassle. In our video description we made a guide on these that will help you to create a password that meets the guidelines and it's easier to remember that password. Here are some of the guidelines. It needs a minimum of 15 characters and it needs to start with a letter or a number. Avoid special characters at the beginning. The first three characters should vary and limit sequences to four letters or numbers. Be sure to include both uppercase and lowercase letters and incorporate at least two numbers and two special characters. Once you've set your new password, use it alongside your standard ID for future C folders logins so you will use your Dibs ID and your C folders password. I've always had a lot of problems with getting locked out of C folders, but my tip would be use the Chrome browser and if you get stuck you can just call the number in the video description and they usually get my account unlocked within a few minutes. For the call you will just need your username and email address that the account is linked to. Now that you have your C folder's credentials updated, you will want to head over to the Dibs website. The link to this website will be in the video description. Once the page loads, look towards the bottom right. You are going to spot a link labeled DLA Collaboration Folders. Go ahead and click on that. A warning notice will pop up and it's crucial to read this notice thoroughly. It contains really important disclosures that you need to be aware of and adhere to. If you're comfortable with the terms, proceed by clicking Agree and a login box will then appear. Here you will enter your username and password to access the C folders. Once you are logged in, it will then take you to the welcome page on the far left under Functions there is a list of search options to search by NSN or Material number. Just click on Search by Purchase Requisition. I am going to fill you in on a tip that I use all the time. If you are trying to find a drawing for a particular solicitation number, I find it so much easier to just add the solicitation number to the end of the URL. Check my video description for the URL template and then you will just add the solicitation number after the equal sign and it should pull up the drawing that you need. Sometimes you may not have a solicitation number and you might want to search on other criteria. If you do want to search within C folders based on other criteria, you will click the blue Create button in the top right to create a new search. A new window will appear titled Create Advanced Search. Next to Name. You will type in the Material name or you can type in the NIIN Material number next to search term 1. Now a list of search results will appear. Click on the material number that you searched for under Name. If the record exists they will be shown under Hits. Now a list of search results will be displayed based on the number of hits. Find the solicitation number that matches your request and click on the Material number folder, click on the requested document that you would like to download. Some documents may require additional access and permissions in order to download, such as those labeled Distribution, Statement and D. Ensure that you download the viewer program that we previously discussed before accessing the documents. See folders can be tricky and a lot of people have issues viewing drawings. Sometimes the drawings are missing data, they're really hard to read, there's lag errors and sometimes even license agreement issues. This can be really frustrating. There is a solution though, if you want to head on over to the link shown on your screen. The this link will also be in the video description and this is designed to assist you with viewing the drawings. Once you click on the link, you will start by creating an account and then after that it's a pretty straightforward process. Now, if your issue is specific to certain drawings, or if you've spotted an error in one, there's a different approach based on the agency related to the solicitation. Use the provided links in the video description and they will guide you to the right place for the resolution. Remember, all of the links that we discuss in this video will also be listed in the video description and that's it. You have successfully learned how to access and navigate C folders.
