When you speak, do people relax or do they brace? When the pressure lands, does your calm spread through the room or does your tension? You can fake confidence for about 10 minutes. You cannot fake the effect you have on a room. So stop trying to look impressive. Start being the person whose presence makes hard things feel handleable. That is the thing they actually promote.
