If you keep telling yourself you are just being patient, test one thing. Real patience has a plan. It is waiting for a specific moment, for a reason you can name. Avoidance just has a calendar. It quietly moves the hard conversation to next week, and then the week after, and calls it timing. I did this for years and dressed it up as being measured. So here's the test. If you cannot name exactly what you're waiting for, you're not being patient. You're afraid. And the thing you keep pushing back is usually the exact thing the role is asking you to do.
