Why Publish Press Releases?

Greg Tresler explains why real estate agents should publish hyper-local press releases instead of generic blog posts. Press releases boost local SEO and establish authority in your market faster than traditional content strategies.
Hey, everybody, I'm Greg. I got the glasses on. This means some serious knowledge is getting ready to drop. All right, so check this out. Have you ever heard of gmass? GMASS is an application where you can mass market through your Gmail whatever. Not about that. That's what we use. It works great. Next, they have a blog. Easy and powerful ways to improve your media outreach success. You're in real estate, right? You are connected to real estate, right? Do you use press releases? Do you even know what a press release is? We got to talk about press releases. I already do. The most. The most. What's the right word? The most powerful press releases in the world. A press release is not an announcement where you put it on some news wires. Not for a real estate agent, not for a title company, not for home services. A press release that really makes an impact locally implies or includes local SEO strategies. When I create a press release, hey, I've got a house for sale in the Hidden Lakes neighborhood in League City. You need to check it out. That press Release goes to 30 news stations. 30 news stations. You're in the news. I just put you in the news with a press release. But my press release is all about the local. All about the local. We're sending signals to Google that you are the local authority in real estate. You're it. Google's like, hey, who is this Realtor and why are they in the news everywhere? 30 different news stations are reporting that this realtor has a house for sale in Houston. Look at this stuff. And what if everything in that press release pointed to you, pointed to you on Google? That's what I already do. Well, what GMASK wants to do is let's take it a next step further. Let's create that press release. Let's get all the SEO, all the Google juice, but let's send it to your entire network. Hey, everybody. Hey, sphere of influence. Hey, database of contacts. I get stuff done. I got this house for sale. I sold it in a week, whatever. All of this stuff is relevant and can be applied locally. That's the important part. Hyper local. Hyper local. And that's what these tools can do for you. You can write a press release. You can pay the best press release company in the nation, and they'll pay. They'll charge you 350 to 500 for a press release, and it will do jack squat for you. My press release will give you all the local juice, which is what you want. You want everybody within a 10 mile radius to know who you are, that you're the local authority. That's what my press release does. And then we couple that with a mass market email. Everybody knows you're a mover and a shaker. A mover and a shaker. Press releases. You guys are sleeping on it. You're sleeping on it. And I know I. I know you don't even know what I'm talking about because most of you have blogs that are absolutely worthless use keeping current matters. You get 600 words of fluff that everybody across the country has the same content. They're shilling words. And none of you are unique. You're like, I checked the box. I have a blog. No you don't. You have everybody else's blogs. I can take your keeping current blogs. I can throw it in a piece of software called Copyscape and that looks for plagiarism on the Internet and it'll show me a hundred other people with the exact same blog. Screw that. That is not working for Google. Google does not like it. So don't do it. Write unique blogs. Get local juice from it. But the point of the day is press releases. So when I got the orange glasses on, that means I'm dropping some incredible knowledge. Talk to me for local relevance. Hyper local press releases. News stories that make you the local authority. That's what it's all about. You're the local authority. Repeat after me. I'm the local authority for real estate in my town. You can prove it with a press release. Give me a shot. I'll tell you how to do it. Sam.
