How to pronounce the word artery. You start with the ah as in father. Then you raise the tongue up for the R R. Make sure that you don't bring the tongue up too soon so you can hear the pure ah sound before then. We have a flap t and a schwa. It's hard to pronounce it in isolation because the flap t appears between two vowel sounds. The r here is an r vowel. So so this is why it's still considered a flap t between two vowel sounds. That's the flap T. It sounds almost like a very light D or a trilled R R and then re round your lips for the r and a high e at the end. Artery. Artery. If you are uncomfortable with a flap T, don't worry about it. Just pronounce it with a regular T a T that you're used to. Artery. Artery. That is absolutely fine too. The most important thing is that you are clear.
