How to pronounce Core vs. Corps vs. Corpse

Make sure you don't confuse the following words. The word cor means the center of something or the most important part of something, and it's pronounced k or core. Core is also the pronunciation of a unit in the military cor, but it's spelled with ps at the end. But the ps are silent cor, so it's exactly the same pronunciation. If you were to pronounce those two letters without knowing they're silent letters, you would end up saying corpse. And corpse is a totally different thing. A dead body. So we have corps, core, and corpse.
