How to pronounce the word croissant in English. Even though this word originates in French, when you use it in English, generally, people use the English sounds and so can you. So I'm going to teach you two different pronunciations. The first one is croissant. It's a k sound, an r and a schwa, cr, cr and then sant, an s sound, the oz and father and t. When the t appears t at the end of words right after an N, what happens is, is that it makes the vowel before a little late nasal. Croissant. Croissant, right. Still American sounds, but it does sound closer to French. The other pronunciation is qua, a sounded w instead of the r and the oz and father qua. And the ending is the same. Santa. Croissant. Croissant. Croissant. Croissant. Use whatever's easier for you.
