Hey, it's hadar. And this is the accent's way, your way to finding clarity, confidence and freedom in English. Let's talk about the word. How do we pronounce it? Is it the ve de vi? I hear so many different pronunciations and since it's the most frequent word in American English, I figure that's a good word to practice. Right? Alright, so we begin with a th sound. Now, since this word is really reduced and quickly pronounced, then it's a very quick th. We don't stick the tongue out, you know, and pronounce a full th. No, it's just. Just the tip comes out. You can even cheat and place the tongue on the back of the teeth and pronounce it really quickly. As long as you don't place the tongue on the upper palate. Then you hear a d sound. D. And you don't want that the vowel after. The pronunciation of the vowel after depends on what word comes after. All right, so if the next word begins with a consonant sound, then we pronounce it with a schwa. V. The car. The people. The chair. If the next word begins with a vowel, then we want to connect both words and it's easier with a vowel. Then we pronounce it with a V sound. The apple. The Internet. The application. The. Alright, the. The car. The. The apple. Now, in both cases, we connect both words together. Okay, so although they're two separate words, it sounds like one. The apple. And the stress falls on the word. Right. Not on the word. The. On the subject. The apple. The chair. I'm going to the park. I'm going to the park. I'm at the office. I'm at the office. Alright, good job. That's it for today. If you find this video helpful, please share it with your friends.
