Hey, everyone. This is Dr. Peter Anteve wishing you a happy EMS week. This is the 46th year of celebrating EMS week, and this year's theme is this is EMS caring for our Communities. And boy, that's what you do as a medical director for over 2,000 paramedics here in South Florida. This week, we want to focus on you and thank you for all that you do. Each day of the week has a theme. Today's theme is education. As you know, that's near and dear to my heart. I think it's important not only to practice skills, but also to learn how to speak to mom and dad, look them right in the eyes, because that's what helps us give better care at the highest quality on scene the first time. And for this week, what we want to do is offer the Gentevi virtual course at no charge to you for the entire week. So let's kick off the week with a great educational opportunity that will help you build confidence as you go on your next pediatric call. Tuesday's theme is safety. Now, safety, in my opinion, can mean multiple things. As you know, we really care about medication dosing, safety. The goal is to get to zero medication errors at your agency. But also safety to me is mental wellness and emotional wellness and the safety of our personnel as you're providing care in the field and afterwards throughout their entire career. So follow us on Social on Tuesday where we're going to have a post about AMR in Evansville and their new therapy dog named Tevy. We love that idea of having therapy dogs. We think mental wellness is so important. And then we may even ask you to post photos of your dog on Tuesday.
So Wednesday is our favorite day. It's EMS for Children Day. On EMSC Day, what we want to do is highlight our pediatric champions, all 50 states in the US territories for the hard work that they do to help us provide better care to our children in the community. Secondly, we're going to have episode number two of Real Emergency. We have actual video from the scene, and we'll discuss that. And this month's case is Pediatric Altered Mental Status. You don't want to miss this one. It's going to be awesome. The theme for Thursday is Save a Life Day. Now, as you know, it takes many people to save one life. So we're going to host a national webinar looking at all the pieces of how communities can really save a life. We've also invited the Florida Resuscitation Academy to the webinar to discuss the impact that they have made across the state of Florida. And Friday is a really special day. It's EMS Recognition Day. I encourage all of you to. To recognize someone or some group of people in your communities who are the real heroes. We'll be doing something special, and we hope you can do that as well. Now, although EMS Week is only one week out of the year, please know that we so much respect and truly honor what you do every single day, and that we do honor you all year long. But really, let's make this week special again. From my entire team here at Hentevi, thank you all for what you do. Stay safe out there.
