We're rolling. Hey, guys, I'm here in Canton, Massachusetts, at the Canton Fire Department. I was able to come visit. They've given two patients whole blood.
Firefighters in Canton are breaking new ground when it comes to saving lives. The department is the first in the state to give someone a whole blood transfusion before the victim got to the hospital. Firefighters helped save the life of a severely injured car crash victim in Braintree last week. They were able to perform this transfusion in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. And that victim, Chris, is now recovering. That's remarkable, Paula.
And they were so nice and hospitable. We came in today, we had a big round table with the surgeon from the Boston Medical center, the entire chief and all the paramedics and so forth. We were here. They have a great program and this is whole blood moving across the country. So let's keep up the good work.
