Short local news segment (YouTube video) reporting on a new mobile application that helps Kirkwood firefighters and paramedics determine correct drug dosages for children in emergencies. The app is installed on tablets and smartphones, allows pre-arrival calculation of dosages by entering a child’s information en route, and supports length-based dosing (presented as an improvement over weight-based dosing). The system is reportedly used across EMS systems nationally and by cruise lines, helicopter companies, and hospitals.
