A brief devotional/motivational monologue that uses the aspen tree’s self-pruning (dropping branches to allow new growth) as a metaphor for spiritual and personal growth. The speaker urges listeners to let go of the past, embrace God’s vision, and move into abundance, freedom, and higher purpose.

I can't breathe. Here's such a cool thing. This is an aspen tree. I'm in Colorado and look at this. Doesn't this look like an eye? It really does. Did you know an aspen is one of the only trees that self prunes? This is where a branch was and it drops off so that the other branches up top can get more light and get more energy. This is a beautiful story about us. If we're going to grow, we've got to leave the past behind. If we do allow ourselves to prune and let the past be the past so we can move into higher altitude, it gives us vision. We have eyes now to see what God wants for us. All the abundance, all the goodness, all the joy, all the freedom. But we can't do that when we're chained to the past. So quit giving the past your energy, your focus. Let it go. Get the vision and move up to where God wants you to live.
