I grew up in the public eye. My family had a TV show, we were on a couple documentaries which turned into a reality TV show. We got into the teachings of Bill Gothard. I grew up thinking, if you follow my principles, these seven basic principles, your life will be guaranteed success and if you don't, then your life will be one disaster after another. So I fell into a fear based view. Not a healthy reverence of God, but a terrifying view of thinking, okay, if I, even as a believer, step out of line, it anyway, any point not following these teachings, then God's going to destroy my life.
