Hannah Keeley (speaker/creator) offers a brief household tip for parents: buy large bulk bags of reasonably healthy snacks and repackage them into zip-top bags yourself to save money and control portion sizes. She notes this reduces packaging waste and expense, but cautions parents may still need to limit how many bags children get.

Hi, I'm Hannah Keeley and I'm gonna help you save some money in the snack department. Now, we know that kids can eat a set of house and home if we let them, and they love snack food and they love packaged snack food, but a lot of times you're paying for packaging and air. So what I like to do, it saves a lot of money, is buy a big honkin bag of whatever they like and whatever is reasonably healthy. Reasonably healthy. Just package the bad boys yourself. You know, just get some plastic zippered bags like this and go ahead and package up the snacks yourselves. You're saving a lot of money. And also you control. God, I can't control these things. They're going all over the place. You control how much your kids are eating, portion sizes, but it doesn't help if they get eight bags. So, you know, you may want to limit that intake. So there you go. Just package the snacks yourself. Saves a lot of money till later.
