In this brief dialogue, two speakers examine a bonsai piece referred to as the "Nidhogg pot," identified as Harry's work. Speaker B explains the Norse mythological background of Níðhöggr, the dragon that guards and feeds on the roots of the World Tree Yggdrasil, describing the tree's role as a habitat for various beings. The conversation highlights the symbolic relationship between the dragon and the tree—protecting and feeding on the roots in a symbiotic loop—while the speakers express admiration for the artistic representation of this myth in the bonsai piece.

This is a Nidhogg pot? Yeah, let's see.
Yeah, this is Harry's piece. Oh, that must be A lot of work. Wow.
And this is for Harry, you say? Yeah. That's stunning.
This is the dragon that guards the World Tree, Yggdrasil, which is a theme that I have because, um, in Norse mythology, there's— the world is a world— it's a tree, right, where all the different Species live on different branches. Humans live on one branch, the gods live on another one. And among the roots, the dragon snake Níðhöggr, he cruises around and guards the tree.
Oh, he protects the roots.
Yeah, and also feeds off the tree. So it's like in a symbiosis with the tree. Fantastic.
So this is the dragon snake Níðhöggr protecting the roots.
Yeah, meeting his own tail.
Beautiful. Yeah.
