How to harness your inner power and truly change your life. Ready? Here we go. So, you know, it may look like I've got it all together right now, and hopefully I have a little bit together now. But I'll tell you what, it wasn't always this way. Early on in my career, it was tough, really tough. I spent over a decade completely broke. You're going to start a new business. What are you. You're excited, you're anticipating the best. And business after business after business, down the drain, down the drain, down the drain. Nothing. No money. I literally went through, As I said, 10 different businesses. And near the end there, instead of being excited about starting a new business, I was dreading it. Oh, my God, what's going to happen this time? And I didn't know. And I was so scared, and I really was unemployable. I couldn't work for other people. So I had nowhere else to turn. And so finally started to dawn on me one time when I was actually, you know, I guess today they would call it depressed. I didn't know it then, but at one point in time, I was so depressed that I had. I'm telling you the truth here, I covered up the mirrors and in my house so that I didn't have to look at myself. That's how embarrassed I was about my life. So disappointed. And I can relate to a lot of you who are wondering. You try and try and try and, you know, nothing's really working for you. And so at that point in time, after five or six days, I finally opened up the mirror and I really looked at myself and I said, you know what? Maybe it's you. Maybe you're the problem. And I never want to admit that or look at that. I never even thought of that before, but it was. That was the answer. It wasn't my baby finger that was the problem, was it? It wasn't my hair necessarily, or my. It was what. It was my mind, right? I was talking myself out of success. I was talking myself out of actions. And so that's the first thing you want to understand, the first critical thing is your mind. Your conditioned mind is a survival mechanism. Its job is not to make you happy, and its job is not to make you successful. Its job, its one and only job, is to keep you alive to survive. That's it. In fact, just so you know, that fear bit and that the feeling it brings up is fear so that you don't act, so that you don't get into trouble, right? It's like a bodyguard and so the one thing you need to know is that your mind actually, it doesn't want you to be happy and it doesn't want you to be successful. It wants to bring up all the problems so you can stay in your comfort zone and be safe. So that's, number one. Your mind does not want you to be successful or happy. It's only there to keep you alive. And if you keep listening to that and only that, that's all you will get. So the second point I want to make here that is absolutely critical is what is real is only right this moment, right now. Everything else is either a memory from the past or imagination and anticipation of the future. None of it's real. It's only in your head. So we talked about our mind being a survival mechanism. It's based, therefore, in protection, which is the feeling you get for that is what? Fear. What's the word? Fear. All right, so now if that's the case and it's based in fear, when is fear? What is the definition of fear? People say, oh, the definition of fear is false evidence appearing real. Actually, my friends, that is not a definition. That is an acronym. Okay, so what is the definition, the actual definition of fear? And you need to really remember this. Please remember this. Anticipation of pain. Repeat that with me. Anticipation of pain. Now, here's a question. When is anticipation past, present, or future? Anticipation is when future. Is future real or is future imagined? Well, here's one of the things I do in my seminars, and I'll do it right now. Say so do this with me now. Everybody ready? Okay. You got your hand ready? Raise your hand tomorrow. I said, go ahead. Try that again. Raise your hand tomorrow. What's the problem? How come you can't do it? Because tomorrow doesn't exist in reality. It only exists in your head. Right? You. You can't raise it tomorrow. It's not there. So the same with fear. Fear only exists in the imagination. It isn't real. So you need to understand the most important place you can be in order to be solid and confident and real is in the real place of your life, which is only this very present moment. When you are in the present, you will not listen closely. You will not be in fear. Why? Because fear is, what did we say? Anticipation of pain in the future. What does that mean, being in the present? It means putting your attention, your mind focused on what is going right now. What's going on right now? I'm talking to you. What else is going on for me right now? That's it. I'm just talking to you now. If I wanted to think about that a bit more, I could say, okay, I feel I'm outside, so I feel the breeze, which is beautiful. I see the sunlight peripherally. That's what's all going right now. What's not going on right now is, hey, what if this video doesn't turn out really good? Or what if people don't like me? Or if, what if people aren't listening? Or if blah, blah, blah, none of that is happening. That's all happening right here. The only thing that's real is I'm talking to you right now. If you can practice, what's the word? Practice. What's the word? Practice putting your mind, putting your attention, focusing your mind only on what's happening in this moment. You will not only be free of fear, you will be happy and you will be successful. Why? Because the point of power, true power, which is action, is in the present moment. So you've got to be in that present to be powerful. Okay, so let's talk about number three. All right. It's all fine. And daddy to say, well, you know, you can come out of fear, that your mind is not necessarily your friend, et cetera, et cetera, but what happens when you fall off fear the wagon, so to say, what happens when you're not feeling all that great, when you're not feeling all that powerful, when you're not feeling into action, when you're feeling, you know, scared and you worry about the risk and your mind is all over the place, you know, you've been there, I'm there all the time, a lot of times. So you know, you've got to get good of coming back. So what do you do? First of all, you come back to the present moment. That's your sanctuary. And how do you do that? It's like your mind is. I would analogize it to an over worried mother. Okay. It's got wonderfully good intentions for you, but if you keep listening to it, it'll drive you crazy and you won't do anything, right. I remember my mom used to always say I'd be 8 o', clock, 9 o' clock and I'd be in my late teens. You're a little rebel at that point. She'd say, harv, where are you going? I don't, yeah, when are you coming home? I'm coming home whenever I want, right? Like, don't ask me these questions, right? I didn't say to her, mom, buzz off. Because I have more respect for my mom than that. But it didn't help. If I ever said like it's none of your business, she would get twice as worried, right? So what I say, mom, don't worry. I'm going to be careful. I'm going to be with friends. I won't drink and drive, I promise. All these things to do what? To reassure. What's the word? Reassure her. So that's what you have to do with your mind. Your mind only wants the best for you. It's like a bodyguard. You need to reassure your mind, that inner voice, that everything is going to be okay. And sometimes you need to motivate it yourself and say, hey, we got this. Like that's like a motto, we got this or everything is going to be okay in the end. I love that saying. It says everything is going to be okay in the end. And if it's not okay, it's not yet the end. That's about trust or when I was really, really involved heavily in my early stages of business, the one I used to use to gain my own power and confidence is that har I am a whatever it takes person. I am a whatever it takes person. I am a warrior. I will do whatever it takes. Things like over, under, around or through, whatever it takes, I will do. And I would motivate myself. So you use a motto or you use a trigger or an anchor to get you back centered. And you do it as if you were motivating somebody else. Because you know what? That voice in here almost is somebody else. It's just your survival mechanism doing what it's supposed to do. But if you keep listening to it, you will have challenges in your life because it isn't you. In the same way, your hand is a part of you and your arm is a part of you and your leg is a part of you, but they're not you. Your mind is just a part of you. You don't let your hand run your life, do you? You don't let your mind, especially when it's non supportive and negative, run your life. You need to intercede and say, hey, thanks for sharing. I got you. I understand you're worried about that, but we got this, let's do it. That make sense at all? So I hope this has been helpful for you.
