3 Steps To Never Dread Monday Again

T. Harv Eker says Monday dread usually means low self-confidence and fear talking. His fix: journal about what you want, try on different careers to see what fits, then test the ones that resonate. Don't just tolerate unhappiness.

I get asked a lot, you know, what would I advise someone who, you know, wakes up on Monday morning and they, they hate what they're doing and they got to go to work. And it's very simple. Why would you do that to yourself? Why would you live, you know, a good portion of your life, your days hating what you do or not liking it or not loving it. I mean, you know that if, you know, I'll be right up front with you. The people who do that have low self confidence and, and low self esteem and that's because they listen to their fear based voice way too much. So here's what I would say. You owe it to yourself, you owe it to your life, you owe it to the people around you to be happy and successful. And the way to do that is you make a change. You make a change. So this Monday morning, you sit there and you journal and you go, I don't like this. What might I like now? Notice what I said? I didn't say what would I like? Because how the hell do you know for sure? Some people, okay, they're in great shape, they know exactly what they like. They knew it so well, how come you're not doing it? But most people, they're not sure. So this is what I believe you do. You try on some coats. Like when you go shopping for a coat, you don't just walk in store and go, I'll take that coat and leave. You try it on. Why? So you make sure it fits. That's what I believe that, that, that you want to be doing here. When you make a change and you go to different arenas, a few different arenas and a few different businesses, a few different career situations and, and you get involved in that arena and you see, does this really resonate with me? Because sometimes one of the craziest things is you believe in your head you don't like this, but you're gonna love that. And you get into that and you don't like that either. And now you're stuck. So journal, try a few things, try a few coats on and then get in the game, start doing it and see what it feels like to you.
